Powder should be attributed to one of the most commonly used cosmetics, and many women believe that it can be used without professional skills and wisdom. And that's true if you only need to gently brush your face with a powder brush. In other cases, you will have to think carefully about what kind of powder and in what quantity you should use.

What is the remedy for?

Powder is a popular decorative tool, the main purpose of which is to perfectly fix makeup on a woman's face.

The classic powder sample usually complements various tonal creams and other products and allows them to bring the tone of the delicate skin to an ideal state: helps to make it look very smooth and quite velvety, without any problems hiding the shine on the face.

Makeup artists often use powder as a separate tool. However, this is possible only when there are no significant flaws on the skin, because the coating of ordinary powder comes out too thin and will not be able to mask serious flaws.

What can be applied?

The set of tools used in the dusting process is not very large. Manufacturers often offer a ready-made tool for accurate application, which, alas, is not always convenient, in the complete set with the product. For this reason, ladies prefer to use their toolbox.

  • Brush. One of the most convenient tools, as it helps to get the most uniform, and most importantly, even coating. With this device, you can accurately dispense the required amount of funds.Even excess powder can be easily brushed off with the same brush. For dry powder, it is better to choose a rounded large brush made from 100% natural hair, and for a more comfortable application of cream powder, it is better to buy good flat brushes.
  • Sponge. In sets with pressed powder, you can immediately notice ready-made sponges, because it is much more convenient to apply compact powder with these devices. Latex beauty blenders are perfect for wet application, as well as for powder with a cream structure. With a good sponge, you can easily distribute the product pointwise, paying more attention to a specific area of the face.

The sponge will perfectly reach the corners of the eyes, it is most convenient for them to work out the areas on the wings of the nose.

If you wet the sponge a little, you can get the effect of a high-quality foundation. The skin will become smooth and especially velvety. The main rule of all eminent makeup artists is to apply the product with a sponge with small pats from top to bottom. This will gently smooth out the hairs on your face, which will help you get an even tone.

It is worth noting that with a sponge, you can quickly apply a much thicker layer of concealer than with a brush. This is the best choice for women who suffer from skin problems and who have to not only carefully align their complexion, but also successfully hide something on it.

  • Puff. A very nice and catchy device, but completely uncomfortable. The puff will significantly increase the consumption of funds, will not allow you to accurately measure the required amount and therefore is never used by professionals. The puff was the first device that was used to apply powder powder. At the same time, the agent was applied with the help of light pats on the face with an instrument. It is difficult to work out the narrowest and inaccessible zones with a puff.
  • Hands. This option is perfect only for cream powder. The fingers feel great and can easily adjust the density of the powdery coating, for this reason this method is very much loved by many women.

Fundamental rules

In order for the powder to fit well on the face, some nuances should be taken into account.

  • First, you need to prepare the skin for future makeup - after all, it is worth applying the product on an already cleansed face.
  • Next, you need to apply a moisturizing cream or a good make-up base to your face. This product should be well absorbed into the skin, and therefore wait 10-12 minutes before gently blotting your face with a regular napkin to remove any remaining cream or base. Then you can apply a special primer.
  • Then use your usual foundation.
  • The very technique of applying a concealer can have various methods - everything will directly depend on the expected effect.
  • If you are looking for an invisible powder veil with a matte finish, gently brush some powder on a clean brush and brush it over your face so that only the thinnest layer of the finish remains on it.
  • When you want to get a much denser and longer-lasting coverage, apply the stippling technique. Using a foam sponge, apply the product as if pressing it.

Whichever method you choose, make sure that you don't get a "multi-layer cake" due to too much used product.

Using different types of powder

Brands these days offer women all sorts of powders, any of which can provide a specific cosmetic effect, but also require skill when applied.

Mineral

An excellent product for lovers of natural remedies. You need to correctly apply this powder like this:

  1. The jar in which the product is stored should be shaken well so that a little powder spills out through the small holes.
  2. You need to collect powder on the brush in circular movements and immediately gently shake off the excess from the brush.
  3. Place the brush vertically and tap a little with the handle on a horizontal surface so that the powder is evenly distributed along the length of all the bristles.
  4. It is necessary to apply the product on the face in circular, as if rubbing movements.

Thanks to this rubbing, transparent minerals will perfectly blend into the complex structure of the skin, allowing you to create an even coverage. White powder is often applied under the eyes to touch up dark circles of fatigue underneath.

Crumbly

Light powder will perfectly "fit" any face and will not weigh down the already applied makeup. It will perfectly matte and dry out too oily areas of the skin well, but if your skin is already too dry, then you'd better get moisturizing products. Here, for applying powdery powder, it is better to choose a good brush, since it will not be very comfortable to do this with a sponge or a puff from the set.

Loose products are best used with a wide brush; products with short nap will not work.

First of all, when applying, it is necessary to cover with the agent those areas that secrete a lot of subcutaneous fat (middle of the forehead, nose, chin). Apply some powder to this area. The shading of such a friable product is also done with a large fluffy brush. She can not only properly distribute loose powder over the T-zone, but also shade it over the skin as evenly as possible.

Ballpoint

A large number of balls of different colors and shades look very beautiful, and when used, they are very practical. Usually, they contain fashionable reflective pigments that help to temporarily remove redness and unhealthy complexion. Each color of the ball will have its own meaning. For example, ladies who suffer from problem skin types can actively use green balls for inflamed areas.

Also, this powder often has a firming effect.

Powder cream

Quite an interesting option if you have overly sensitive skin. The consistency of the product is slightly liquid and is somewhat like a foundation, but after this product dries, you can see the most delicate coating of the smallest velvety particles on a woman's face. You should apply this liquid composition with a fashionable beauty blender, a small brush, or just with your fingers. It is also worth remembering that this tool is used without foundation - they do not go together at all.

Sculpting

This type of product is used only for professional make-up, applied using the popular “contouring” technique, and has a denser and heavier texture. It is best to apply it with a narrow brush so that the selected shade lies only on strictly limited areas. This kind of product can have 2 or more shades in 1 palette. Step by step the tool is applied as follows:

  1. The face is covered with a tone that matches the natural skin tone.
  2. The center of the forehead, nose, cheekbones, points under the eyes and a little chin are powdered in a light tone.
  3. In a darker tone, you should go over the places where you need to get visual constriction: this is the contour of the nasal back, forehead, face oval, the place under the cheekbones.
  4. With a wide brush, you need to shade the transitions of all used tones, without forgetting about the transitions of the boundaries of the face and neck.

Bronzing

This versatile remedy can be considered a real boon for the tanning-loving ladies, as it allows them to visually emphasize the radiance on their skin. It is worth knowing that the highlighting bronzer is not used to simulate a full-fledged tan, and it will look unnatural on very light skin. This powder is applied in the following ways:

  1. Use a rounded brush to mark the spot just below the cheekbones. Next, you need to go from the temple closer to the wings of the nose with clear and well-directed movements.Bronzer is no longer added, the rest of the powder on the pile is worked through the remaining areas.
  2. Powder the Arabic numeral "3". You need to go from the center of the forehead, along the border of the whole face, moving to the temples, then along the cheekbones to the wings of the nose and going down to the lower line of the face. Feather all the marked boundaries of the application.
  3. Remember to gently run the product over your shoulders and décolleté.

If the powder contains reflective particles, do not use this product during the day.

Compact (pressed)

These are easy-to-carry palettes and usually come with a mirror, sponge or brushes. This type of powder is usually applied in a much denser layer than others, which is why it can well mask even significant flaws. Most women prefer to use a compact type of powder - it is much more convenient to paint her face, it can be actively exploited both dry and applied wet.

Powder is one of the best fixers. Correctly chosen shade will help to successfully and quickly correct the shape of a woman's face. Without this product, in many cases, the makeup will look incomplete, and the skin will be too shiny.
