French manicure or service jacket, as it is called for short, is the most popular nail polish option. It suits any dress code, looks great on both long and short nails, is neat, does not lose its appearance, and grows back, gives the hands a well-groomed look, while he is very elegant. With such a mass of advantages, there is only one drawback - it can get bored, as it looks pretty monotonous.

History of appearance

French manicure is quite an "adult" type of design: it was invented in 1976 in Hollywood. Its appearance is due to the fact that the actresses had to repaint their nails for each outfit and wait for them to dry, and this significantly delayed the filming process. It was then that the question was raised of creating a standard, universal manicure that would be combined with any clothes. This is how the jacket appeared, which is known to every girl today.

However, the modern nail service offers a huge number of design options, including for those who would not like to change their jacket. Firstly, French manicure can be done in absolutely any combination of colors: from neutral to bright, neon. Secondly, even traditional shades of a jacket can be diversified with rhinestones, sparkles, stones.

Rhinestone design

The decor of the ring finger (the so-called king-nail) still retains the leading position in popularity; traditional French manicure is performed on the rest of the fingers. The design on the ring finger can be absolutely anything: from monograms and flowers to marble and geometry. Sometimes a monochromatic coating is used with a pattern of rhinestones, less often - a complex ornament, where stones perform an accentuating function.

You can perform a jacket on all ten nails, and then draw a thin strip of sparkles or small pebbles along each "smile". It is popular to decorate not every nail with rhinestones, but, for example, two or three on each hand. You can attach one pebble for each smile. Rhinestones do not have to be white - it can be gold, silver, scarlet or emerald stones, and even orange-opal. If desired, there is no problem to enter them into a jacket.

The main coating does not have to be monochromatic: you can make it marble or paint it with monograms, while the pattern can be one or two shades darker than the main shade, or contrast with it - it all depends on desire.

"Smile" can be decorated with sparkles by covering them with white varnish. Coating density can vary from completely opaque to a subtle hint of gloss. In addition to sparkles, you can use a silver "mirror" rub and apply it to the area of the free edge of the nail plate, creating a futuristic, space manicure.

French goes well with white, cream or pale pink modeling, which can be used to decorate only a nail on the ring finger or two nails on each hand. An effective solution will be a combination of French and moon manicure in one design.

Despite the preferred shades for such a design - pastel, delicate, nude - nothing prevents you from making the free edge bright.

Shape and length

A white jacket can be made on nails of any length and shape. It is not necessary to cut out a clear square free edge - it may well be an oval shape, and a soft square, and almonds, and ballerina's pointe shoes. Moreover, an acute-angled square is a very "dangerous" shape, because it does not suit every hand. If you are not sure that your fingers will look good with a square edge of the nail plate, then it is better to choose a softer, rounded shape.

French manicure can be done even on the shortest nails, the length of the free edge of which is about one millimeter. However, it should be borne in mind that, despite the apparent simplicity of the jacket, it is much more difficult to accurately execute it than many intricate designs.

Any flaw in the performance - the asymmetry of "smiles", their different width, uneven layout - immediately catch the eye, because there are no other details in this design. Therefore, it is so important to choose a master who is qualified enough to perform this simple (seemingly) and elegant manicure, because it should look the right way.

Sloppy sawn-off shape can turn graceful fingers into square "shovels", and a crookedly laid out "smile" will give the manicure a touch of cheapness. Therefore, before you give your pens for applying any kind of design on them, you need to familiarize yourself with the qualifications and work of the master to whom you plan to go. If any little thing is alarming, then it is worth looking for another artist, since only complete mutual understanding between the client and the master will help to create truly unique designs.
