Nail bonder: what is it and how to use it?
Modern nail art technologies these days are still at the stage of their development, and therefore almost every month new items in this industry appear on the shop windows of a different order. Today, durable coatings made of gel, acrylic are in great demand, for this reason, masters who are just beginning to learn the basics of manicure need to turn their attention to the most famous nail bonders and find out what kind of drugs they are and how they should be used.
What it is?
Bonder is a special tool for quickly degreasing the nail, it has high adhesion characteristics and helps to easily bond the nail plate prepared for this purpose and the materials that are selected for subsequent building-up. Bonder (it is quite often called simply "bond") must be applied with a special brush and very carefully so as not to get the product on the treated cuticle, otherwise all the work will have to be done first. A quality drug from a well-known manufacturer always fits perfectly on the nails and does not allow the possibility of peeling of the artificial materials used from the nail for a long time.
Bonder can be translated as "bonding". Bonder for nails is distinguished by a gel structure, its effect is very often compared with the properties of the well-known double-sided tape. Bonder in manicure must be applied over the primer in order to bond the built-up material with the natural marigold even better.
Advantages
When working with a bonder, do not forget that the better you select the “bond”, the more beautiful the manicure will be, which will delight its owner with the duration of use.To protect nails from rapid peeling, create the most protective layer on the nail surface - all this can be done by a properly selected nail bonder.
It is actually a very useful tool that has the following benefits:
- it will ensure the maximum adhesion of two surfaces to each other;
- guarantees smooth adhesion of the nail plate and any modern artificial materials;
- using its own sticky structure, it will easily be distributed in an equal layer throughout the entire marigold;
- Bonder will create a strong layer between the natural nail and the gel layer.
The composition of the selected bonder will always determine the qualities and properties of the product: the better it is, the more securely it will adhere to almost any possible surface. Therefore, gel and acrylic, liquid tips and plastic products, as well as many other options for nail design, will so reliably hold on it. Using this tool, you will get the most effective and strongest anchoring of the extended nail to the real nail surface, prevent delamination of living nail tissue and prevent the delamination of the built-up materials.
disadvantages
This unique remedy also has some disadvantages:
- when applying the bonder directly to the nail, the drug can seriously damage its structure;
- since the bonder initially has a rather sticky gel surface, it will definitely require high-quality drying under a UV lamp.
Varieties
Most often, an acid-free agent is found in the manicure technique. It is universal and therefore suitable for any known types of coatings, while it has absolutely no shades, it is actively used on absolutely healthy nails.
An acidic preparation is chosen if the master will work with acrylic, as well as in the case of damaged nails. After application, the product will leave a certain percentage of yellowness, so you should not use it if you are going to use a completely transparent or colorless coating after it.
Which modern nail bonder is the best, only an experienced manicurist can answer you. Several well-known brands are most popular among consumers.
- American company In'Garden. The product produced by it provides high adhesion strength of the materials used. There are no acids in it, and any possibility of harm to the nails with this tool is excluded.
- Bonder Gel by IBD. Has a sticky base, which guarantees long-lasting and resistant gluing of any possible gels with a living nail.
- Products of the American brand EzFlow is distinguished by its high cost, but at the same time amazing quality.
- Orly nail bonder - dries quickly, leaving as if a rubberized layer on the nail. Protects marigolds from possible chips and creates a pleasant appearance.
- Bonder Infinity Bonder differs from the renowned brand Nubar with a unique formula that does not contain harmful components.
The Japanese CBF remedy can be called a very successful novelty. Has a transparent structure, suitable for any type of extension, helps to create excellent hardness of coatings on nails.
How is it different from a primer?
Consider how a drug such as a bonder will differ from a well-known primer. Although sometimes novice masters believe that there are no special differences between them, this is not so.
- You need to cover the nail just a little bit with a primer - just for some protection of the nail from the harmful effects of other means. This composition forms a specific barrier film that will prevent various harmful components from entering the nail.
- The primer has the ability to "wash off" all existing dirt from the nail, as well as excess moisture and grease.
- A primer is something like a primer, a solid foundation for subsequent manipulations with nails.
- It can be either acidic or acid-free.
- The primer dries on its own in just 10-15 seconds.
As soon as the primer dries, it will be necessary to apply a bonder to the nail. It is he who will glue the materials selected by the master to the natural nail, fully ensuring their even adhesion. Since this tool has a pronounced gel structure, for its full drying, you will have to move the nails for 5 minutes under a UV lamp.
The main differences between bonder and primer:
- it can be applied only after the primer is 100% dry, since if the bonder is applied directly to the nail, it can seriously damage it;
- sticky structure and gel consistency, will require drying under a UV lamp.
Ideal bonding can only be achieved if both means are used. Any options for replacing the bonder with a primer and vice versa will significantly reduce the quality of the manicure being produced. Refusal to use a primer can simply result in damage, and perhaps even destruction of a living nail when removing the gel layer.
A complete rejection of the bonder or an attempt to replace it with glue most often ends with the detachment of the manicure after a few hours. In order to choose the right product, it is imperative to pay attention to the company that released the product and its reputation, the cost of the product, its consistency. It is best to stop your choice on those products that in the process of building an artificial nail will only help to create the strongest and most beautiful manicure.
How to use?
So that a tool such as a bonder fulfills all the declared functions perfectly and flawlessly, you need to know well how to use it correctly.
- First, the nail plates are polished with high quality, the cream is carefully applied to the cuticle and in the area of the nail rollers.
- The thinnest layer of primer is very carefully applied to the nail, which should dry in the air after a few seconds.
- Next, it will be necessary to apply a bonder with a neat layer, while making sure that the product does not flow along the edges, does not fall on the cuticle. After applying the product, the nails are sent under a UV lamp until they are completely dry.
What can be replaced?
Experienced experts assure that there is no full-fledged alternative to such a tool as a bonder. Novice masters often ignore this tool, but soon they themselves are convinced that the quality of such a manicure without the use of a bonder will seriously suffer. Primer and Bonder are complementary and cannot be used alone or interchangeably.
On the Internet, you can find tips that for high-quality degreasing of the nail plate, you can use a nail polish remover without any problems (the main thing is that it contains acetone). This advice can be applied, but only for degreasing: acetone, in fact, will dry the nail qualitatively. At the same time, before using the product, you will need to make sure that there are no oils in the composition - their presence is highly undesirable.
You can also try using homemade vinegar or rubbing alcohol instead of a degreaser., but again - only in order to dry your nails well. You must understand that no home remedy can handle the challenge of lifting the scales of the upper layers of the nail to ensure maximum adhesion of the built-up materials used.
Boric acid and cologne are sometimes cited as alternatives to bonder to save substantial material costs.
However, you should be aware that the cost of the bonder is not too high. The consumption of this tool, in general, is minimal for one procedure, so you should not neglect the purchase of a not very large bottle of Bonder for your arsenal.
