Classic Nail Design Ideas

Despite the fact that the nail industry is reaching a higher level every season, presenting the most unusual novelties in nail design, the calm and elegant nail design in the style of the classics does not lose its position in the beauty market.

The design of the marigold in the classic style can be described as graceful and sophisticated. Its main advantage is to look beautiful, but restrained and concise. That is why the design of nails in the classical style does not accept the use of a large amount of decor: rhinestones, artificial stones, stucco, intricate patterns, sequins and other elements.

Nail art experts have identified five main variations of classic nail designs that are most popular today.

• Decoration with gel polish in nude tones. This coating will give your nails a healthy, well-groomed look while keeping them natural. The most popular shades are:

1. gray pink;
2. Ivory;
3. beige.

• Intense shellac tones. The coating is applied in 2 layers, while dark tones are chosen, which will allow to give the nails relief outlines and maximum expressiveness. It is interesting in itself, so there is no need to use additional decorative elements. Dark polish will look best on short nails.
• French manicure. This nail design is always in fashion. It can be finished with a traditional white stripe or with a multi-colored varnish.

• Moon manicure is at the peak of popularity today. For a classic design, it is recommended to leave the nail hole unpainted, but you can also cover it with clear varnish. The rest of the nail plate is covered with gel polish in a calm shade.
• Applique with a discreet pattern. It is easy to make such a manicure even at home. To do this, an application is applied to a monochromatic gel polish coating. It is better to do this in such a way that there are delicate floral motifs or light abstraction in the form of geometric shapes.

In order to make classic nail designs more fashionable and festive, nail art masters use different techniques.

• Gradient. A matte finish using the ombre technique will make the nails presentable, but restrained.
• Velvet cover. Such an unusual design is created by combining matte and glossy gel polish of the same tone. The main part of the nail plate is covered with matte varnish, and the edge of the nail is covered with a thin glossy strip.

• Black gold. Despite the rather bright combination, with the correct distribution of shades, the manicure will look very aristocratic and restrained. For example, the entire nail can be covered with black shellac, and a narrow gold line can be drawn in the center. You can decorate only the ring finger with gold varnish - it is enough to apply parallel golden stripes (horizontal or diagonal) to the black coating and decorate them with medium-sized pebbles.
• Drawing. For classic manicure, as a rule, the pattern is applied only to the ring fingers. This should be non-load geometry.

• Glitter. At the height of fashion, decoration with shiny lunula elements. Sequins can be silver or golden. They are applied over the main tone. It is very important to observe the density of the glitter application - the main coating must show through it.
• Shimmer. It is a very fine shining powder. It can be evenly distributed over the entire nail plate. A soft shine will give your nails a "zest", but will not look too provocative.

Classic manicure has several more names: "wet" or edged. It is recommended to perform it once every 2 weeks.

First, the nails must be filed until the desired shape is obtained (it is selected based on the length of the fingers and their thickness). If the fingers are long and thin, then it is better to choose a rectangular shape, for the rest - oval. It is recommended to use wire cutters for trimming.

If you use nail files, then you should pay attention to the material of their base. It can be rubber or cardboard, but by no means metal. You can only file dry nails, otherwise the nail plate will exfoliate. The file moves symmetrically, from both sides to the center. When filing, it is important not to touch the skin near the nail to avoid infection.

After the marigolds have been given the desired shape, it is necessary to move the skin in the nail growth zone with an orange stick. Then dip both hands in soapy water (alternatively, you can use sea salt). This action will allow the skin of the hands to relax and soften the cuticle, making it easier to cut.

In order not to miss the overgrown areas of the cuticle, during its cutting, the hands are periodically washed with water or wiped with wet wipes. All burrs are bitten off with the help of special tweezers, previously disinfected. The hand working with the forceps should be in a perpendicular position.The burr should not be pulled, otherwise a wound and inflammation will appear. After deburring, it is recommended to treat these areas with hydrogen peroxide.

The polisher will add shine to the nails. Four numbered work surfaces allow you to choose the best option for each application. After the hygienic manicure is completed, you can proceed to the design of the nail design. First, a base is applied, the function of which is to protect the nail plate from toxins and give the decorative coating a more intense shade. A few minutes are enough for the base to dry. Then the main tone is applied.

To mix the varnish in the tube, it must be shaken. There should not be a lot of product on the brush. First, the center of the nail is painted over, and then the entire surface. The number of layers of varnish is determined based on individual preferences and the properties of the coating itself. In order for the finished manicure to dry faster, the decorated nails must be dipped in cold water.

To cleanse the skin around the nails from specks of polish that has gotten it, just walk over them with a cotton swab with acetone. Almond-shaped nails work well with bright coatings with a matte texture. If the nail plate has defects (for example, irregularities), it is not recommended to use pearlescent varnishes for staining, since all the imperfections on them will be very noticeable.

• Monochromatic nail design in a nude shade is the perfect solution for every day manicure, and also perfect for office workers.

• A jacket with a black tip, light geometry, golden glitter and rhinestones on the index and ring fingers looks restrained and elegant. This nail design can be combined with both an evening dress and a casual style.

• Lunar manicure in cherry-brown color with a transparent moon can be diversified with rhinestones that form an elongated figure on the ring fingers and the effect of "broken glass" on the index fingers. Additionally, a narrow black “smile” is drawn on the latter between the main coating and the transparent moon.

• The manicure looks very elegant in white and gold tones using the negative space technique. This design is also appropriate for a wedding manicure.

• The design in blue and yellow tones with lunula lace and rhinestones will suit middle-aged women. This design looks very respectable and elegant.

• Purple-black manicure with a shimmer looks unusual. Thanks to the use of the latter on nails, something resembling a starry sky or outer space is recreated.
