It is better to prepare all this in advance, because after you apply varnish on your nails, you will need to act very quickly until the coating dries - otherwise it will be very problematic to work with it.

Soda must be sifted through a fine strainer. If this is not done, small lumps can significantly impair the appearance of the final coat. Then you should paint on the nails on one hand, for a while leave the other hand without varnish - this is necessary so that it does not freeze before time.

Then the most important thing begins - a make-up brush should be dipped in sifted soda and very carefully sweep it over the wet nail cover. At this point, the baking soda sticks to the varnish. The brush should be dipped in baking soda every time before running it over the nail, otherwise the bristles will begin to stick to it and the appearance of the nail will become rough and untidy.

Soda should be applied evenly. If there are areas on the nails that have not been treated with powder, then a gloss will appear on the matte coating in this place.

The baking soda should be left on the nails for a few minutes - this time is quite enough for it to fix on the varnish. When it's dry, brush off any remaining baking soda from your nails. If all the manipulations are carried out correctly, then the coating should become matte. If you notice that the soda particles are attached to the varnish, then you need to dip the brush in plain water and carefully wrap your nails with it. Similarly, you need to process the second hand.

If you wish, you can make a whole bubble of matte varnish with your own hands. This is more convenient because you do not have to prepare a new coating every time - once made, the varnish can be stored for a long time and used several more times.

To draw up the mixture you will need:

• the main varnish in a glossy shade;
• cornstarch or matte eyeshadow;
• fine fraction sieve (if starch is used);
• a toothpick (if using shadows);
• several sheets of paper in the form of a square with a side of 5 cm;
• thinner varnish;
• a pair of metal balls, for example, from a bearing (however, this is optional);
• small bowl.

First, you need to prepare the varnish and powder that you plan to use. It is important that the bottle of varnish is not completely filled, otherwise, when adding matting components, the liquid will overflow.

Regardless of which powder you prefer, keep in mind that it must be fine, since even the smallest lumps will make the coating itself lumpy. If you intend to work with starch, then be sure to sift it through a fine sieve, and if you like shadows, then first they should be picked out of the box with a toothpick and crushed into dust.

For half a bottle of varnish, you will need 5-6 pinches of starch, but it is better to take more shadows, preferably the whole box at once.

Roll a bag out of a sheet of paper so as to leave a shallow hole.

After that, you need to open the bottle and insert a funnel into it, but so that it does not directly touch the varnish - in this case, the powder will begin to stick to the funnel instead of falling into the bottle.

It is better to sprinkle the powder with a teaspoon. If you perform these actions manually, then it is possible that he will begin to stick to your fingers. Do not empty out all the powder you have at a time. It should not be too thick, it is better to add some more component later if necessary.

If possible, add a couple of small balls from the bearing to the bottle - in this case, it will be much easier for you to mix the contents of the bottle. You need 3 mm balls. It is optimal that they are made of stainless steel.

The vial with all the contents should be screwed up very tightly and shaken vigorously for several minutes until the contents become homogeneous. If you put the balls, then shaking can be stopped at the moment when you stop hearing the impact of metal on the bottle.

Steam can also be used to make the varnish matte. To do this, you should clean and degrease the nails, cover with glossy varnish and hold for 3-5 minutes over boiling water, while constantly moving your fingers so that the steam penetrates into all areas of the nail plates.

After the allotted time, move your hands away and wait for the coating to cool down - it does not immediately become matte.
