Gothic style manicure design
For many, Gothic and everything associated with it is associated with gloom and depression. Nevertheless, the Gothic style in clothing and make-up has long ceased to be the "property" of adherents of the subculture and has gained popularity in wider circles of young people. Modern nail designers also did not stand aside, turning Gothic manicure into a real art, which added to its attractiveness among lovers to emphasize their individuality.
Peculiarities
Gothic is a pointed shape, rich dark colors, stained glass windows, various ornaments and prints. All this is reflected, including in the manicure. The sharp shape can be used in both print and nail shape. Long, extended pointed nails are considered the most suitable for nail design in the Gothic style. However, you can design a manicure of medium length, and even short nails in this style. In this case, the tips of the nail plates can be pointed, oval and square-angular. As for the age category, this is more suitable for young people.
Gothic color palette
First of all, when talking about the Goths, black comes to mind. And he, undoubtedly, is the main one in the design of manicure in the Gothic style, but far from the only one. To create nail art in this direction, such color schemes are perfect as:
- blood red;
- ash gray;
- rich burgundy;
- tin color;
- dark brown;
- White;
- metallic.
Important! As inclusions (in small quantities), it is allowed to apply purple, dark green and yellow colors to the nails.
Examples of gothic nail designs
Manicure in this style is very diverse.Proof of this can be seen in several examples of nail design, which will appeal to goths and connoisseurs of originality.
Gel stiletto
This design is equally suitable for natural and artificial nails and is performed according to the following algorithm:
- gloss is removed from the nail plates;
- special forms (templates) for stilettos are attached to nails and their tips are carefully glued;
- the nail surface is primed with an ultrabond, after which the nails are thoroughly dried;
- a transparent gel for building is applied in a thin layer, lengthening the nail to the required length in shape; if the composition gets on the skin of the hands, it is immediately carefully removed, the gel should be applied with rubbing movements of the brush;
- after applying the gel coating, the nails are dried under a UV lamp for 2-3 minutes;
- fixing the gel layer in ultraviolet light, carefully detach the form from it using an orange stick;
- cover a natural nail with dark camouflage, slightly lengthening the contour, so that later you get a beautiful jacket; camouflage gel is applied in a thin layer and fixed under the lamp (3 min.);
- along the same contour, another layer of camouflage is applied, already more solid than the previous one, but for this they use not pure camouflage gel, but diluted with a transparent composition; after that, the nails are again placed in the lamp (3 minutes);
- remove the sticky layer from the nail;
- using a milling cutter, cut out the contour of a smile and modify it with a file 80x80 cm;
- the transparent tips are coated with a colorless gel; it should be applied in a very thin layer;
- tint the smile line in black and dry again (no more than 1 min.);
- pressing the red foil on all sides of the free edge of each nail, make prints and dry again for several minutes;
- mix the pigmented stained glass dye and hexagonal sequins and coat the free edge with the resulting composition; dried for 2 minutes;
- completely cover the design with a transparent gel and place the nails under the lamp for 30 seconds;
- clamp the nails with a special clip in order to tighten them, give them the desired shape, and then dry them in a lamp for another 2 minutes;
- filing is performed first on the sides, then in the cuticle area; the nose of the stylet is sawed down, and the ribs are rounded, after which the lower parallels are cut out;
- After removing the saw cut, the nail plates are covered with a top and dried again for 2 minutes under a lamp.
Medium length nails
It is quite possible to create an interesting Gothic design on natural nails without resorting to artificial lengthening. To do this, follow these steps:
- a base coat is applied to the nail plates; its application allows you to improve the quality of manicure and extend its service life;
- nails are covered with a translucent pastel varnish;
- in this case, the pattern can be applied using the stamping technique - for this, a special varnish is applied to the plate with the template, carefully filling all the contours, after which a special stamp is applied to the template, with which the pattern is transferred to the nail plates; so as not to stain the cuticle, it must be sealed with special strips;
- remove these stripes after the print is applied to the nail;
- the finished drawing is covered on top with a transparent top.
Thus, you can depict bats, cobwebs with spiders, skulls, skeletons and other attributes of the Gothic style.
Black and red manicure complemented by stones
This is another design option that will suit fans of the Gothic. Its creation consists of the following sequential steps:
- degreasing of nail plates;
- base application and drying under the lamp;
- decorating the tip of the nail with red gel paint (as with a regular jacket), fixing it in a lamp;
- top coating - this step is necessary so that the foil that will be used later is not printed on a red background; fixing the top in the lamp;
- drawing with black gel paint; the simplest print is a circle with curls (here you can give free rein to imagination) and another drying;
- foil imprinting on the picture;
- mixing sculptural gel, black paint and liquid stones, which should be done on the palette;
- applying the resulting composition to the nail plate; to imitate the veins on the stone, you can dip a thin brush in white paint and draw it over the not yet dried gel;
- top coat and final dry.
You can experiment not only with the pattern, but also with colors (from the palette that is suitable for the Gothic style), use gel polish or ordinary varnish - whoever likes it.
