Life hacks for manicure
Well-groomed hands are hard to imagine today without elegant nail designs. If you visit a professional salon, the master, of course, knows how to make a neat and beautiful nail art. However, not everyone has the opportunity to regularly visit specialists. In order to make a manicure correctly at home, there are many recommendations and life hacks.
How to paint your nails so as not to stain your skin?
First of all, you need to learn how to paint your nails with your own hands carefully, without staining the skin around the nails, without touching the cuticle. Knowledge of the correct coating technique will help in this, which includes the following rules:
- always clean and degrease the coating, do not use hand cream after this;
- treat dead cuticles;
- always apply the initial drop just above the cuticle line, only then lower the brush down;
- the next step is to stretch the drop along the nail line up exactly along the line and on the sides;
- do not press on the brush, the movements should be neat, smooth, unsharp;
- do not apply the next layer until the previous one has dried;
- Choose a high-quality, viscous coating with a comfortable brush that does not spread;
- wring out the brush before applying;
- for painting the nail plates “under the cuticle” use a special thin brush.
There are many additional helpers to help you paint your nails and not go over the edges. It is worth considering them in more detail.
- First of all, it's scotch... If you want to create patterns with it, prepare templates in advance, if the goal is a neat coating, three strips for each nail are enough. For these purposes, you need a narrow type of tape: stationery, painting, duct tape. Glue the strips on the sides and at the end, press down properly, as if framing the nail. Then you can start applying varnish.
- Special proof-markerswhich are sold in professional stores. The core part of such a corrector is saturated with a varnish remover. With the help of such an assistant, you can immediately remove any miss.
- Special protection in the form of stickers can also be purchased at nail stores. They attach around the nail to the skin and protect it from accidental nail polish.
- Products that are applied around the nail: hand cream as nutritious and oily as possible, petroleum jelly, PVA glue. They should be placed on the skin with a cotton swab and removed with a sponge after coating.
Here it is important to make sure that none of these funds get on the plate itself, otherwise it will simply not work to paint the plate.
- Skin defender - This is a professional product that is enough to apply to the skin and let it dry. The resulting film after the manicure is easily removed along with the varnish that has got on it.
How to create an even coverage?
It is not enough just to apply the varnish carefully, it is important that the coating is very even. At home, you can achieve the smoothness of the nail plate if you know a few secrets of applying varnish. It is necessary that the varnish be as close as possible to the cuticle, otherwise the impression will be created that the nail has already grown. In order for the surface to be flat, observe the following basic rules:
- do not let moisturizers and other fat-containing products get on your nails;
- the nail must be dry, the wet plate may peel off, in addition, it is difficult to notice the pterygium, which must be removed completely;
- in no case apply varnish on peeling nails, there should be no scales; in this case, it is necessary to either shorten the nails, or strengthen them with a primer, base coat, soft gel, acrylic powder.
The nail looks smooth when the color is applied to the entire surface, the shape of the nails is visually correct, and the nail bed is aligned. Several life hacks from professional masters will help to achieve this.
- The nail bed is leveled with a soft gel or base... The technique is as follows: you should cover the nails with any of these products and dry, then another layer, thinner, which we no longer dry; Apply a drop of the product in the center, push it along the edges with a brush, keep the nail upside down, then dry it.
- "Under the cuticle" - a figurative expression, in any case it should not be. In addition, the rollers also need to be processed, otherwise a beautiful opening of the nail will not work. The easiest way to do this is with a special manicure machine.
- Be sure to adjust the shape of the plate... A flat type of nail is corrected with acrylic powder, a wide one - leaving thin free stripes on the sides.
How to prolong the life of a manicure?
You can make a manicure that lasts as long as possible on your own. The main thing is to take into account several recommendations of nail art specialists.
- Keep track of the length. Too long nails, of course, look impressive, but in everyday life they are not particularly appropriate, and they are also uncomfortable. The longer the nail, the easier it is to damage it.
Give preference to a medium or short form, on which the coating is more durable.
- Cuticle care. This is a very important nuance, because rough keratinized skin with varnish that has got on it will make it exfoliate. Use oils, creams, scrubs, push away dead skin with a special stick or remove it by cutting.
- Home manicure often starts with baths for nails, this is wrong, since moisture is unacceptable for a persistent manicure.Pause between spa treatment and coverage, it is not enough to dry your hands. The nail plate gets wet in warm baths, it takes time for it to shrink. If you do not wait, the varnish will crack very quickly.
- Use the base. It provides excellent adhesion between the pigment and the plate. This is a very important intermediate layer that protects the nails and keeps the design intact for a long time. If the coating tends to chip off at the edge of the nail, try applying an extra layer of base to the edge.
- Don't skimp on varnishes. Use products from trusted, proven brands. The consistency of the “right” product should be of medium thickness, remove the brush and allow the drop to form. If it took a second - the varnish will spread, if more than 4 seconds - it is too thick and dries quickly.
- A two-layer application of any coating is sufficient. The more layers, the less durable your manicure will be. Be sure to keep the drying time between coats. First let the base dry, then apply the pigment, let it dry, proceed to the second layer, they should all be thin.
After the coating has dried, you should not immediately take up household chores: wash the floors, dishes. Wait at least an hour.
- Don't forget top coverage. This layer will perfectly anchor your design and protect against external aggression.
- Remember the safety measures. Wear gloves when in contact with water and chemicals.
- Make corrections in time. It is necessary to update the manicure regularly. Moisturize your hands daily and refresh your top coat periodically.
Design that does not show how nails grow back
If it is not possible to update the design every few weeks, you can rely on such compositions in which the regrowth of nails is not so noticeable. There are so-called long-lasting types of nail art. With them, the nails look well-groomed for a long time, and regrowth is almost imperceptible.
- Reverse jacket. This actual lunar manicure method not only looks very unusual and creative, but also very practical. It is enough to leave the holes in their original form so that the manicure looks fresh for a long time. If the beginning of the nails is decorated in color, you can simply tint it as it grows.
- Fashionable geometry. This type of design is incredibly popular today, because it fits perfectly into almost any look. The practicality of geometry lies in the fact that you can arrange strips, triangles or squares in any order and anywhere on the nail plate. The randomness of the geometry creates the illusion of a fresh design for a very long time.
- Dot minimalism. Another hit of the season is minimalism, where dots play almost the main role. The same principle works here as with geometry - randomness, the absence of rules for the location of points allows you to experiment. A nude coating and a few dots in the middle of the nail can look very neat even after a month.
- Half design. The trick of this method is to leave part of the nail intact. The pigment is applied only to half of the plate and is decorated as desired. The principle of longevity of such a manicure is the same as that of the lunar one - the beginning of the nail remains unpainted.
- Nude style. This elegant trend in the spirit of minimalism allows you to admire an almost invisible design for a very long time. Nail art experts predict the incredible popularity of the nude finish in future seasons.
What to do if the varnish has thickened?
First of all, you need to understand why this happens and not allow the varnish to deteriorate in this way. The varnish contains liquids that evaporate over time, the varnish thickens, then dries. However, the human factor can also be considered a common cause. Improper storage and use, temperature changes can spoil the varnish in a short time. It is worth adhering to the following recovery methods:
- if this trouble has already occurred, you can use professional thinners, if there is an opportunity to purchase them; it is enough to use a few drops so that your favorite coating will delight you with its quality for a long time;
- if there is no thinner at hand, you can use transparent varnish, however, this method will extend the life of the varnish by just one coating;
- acetone-containing liquids are the most common and simple method, but, unfortunately, the varnish diluted in this way will not last long, chips and cracks will appear; for half a bottle, it is enough to take one fourth of a teaspoon of nail polish remover;
- using an increase in temperature does an excellent job with thickened varnish, for this it is enough to lower the bottle in hot water and hold it for a few minutes; boiling water is not suitable for this purpose, since the temperature difference is extremely harmful for varnishes, this method is not particularly durable, since the effect will disappear along with cooling;
- micellar water has recently been used for similar purposes, but has already proven itself excellent; it is enough to pour one spoon of water into the varnish and let it stand, and you do not need to shake the bottle;
- if you urgently need to thin the gel polish, none of the above methods will work; you can use any alcohol-containing product - alcohol, vodka, but, unfortunately, you cannot often use this method, the quality of the varnish is significantly reduced.
Important! If your craquelure has dried up, you can safely throw it away, no method will work with this wonderful coating, resuscitation will be meaningless.
Other interesting tips
There are other secrets of home manicure so that nails do not break, but the coating retained its fresh and spectacular appearance for a long time, namely:
- always start with the right hand when starting to apply, although this is more difficult; if you are left-handed, start by painting with the left, it is better to use all your attention and patience on a more complex process;
- it is recommended to apply a thin layer of varnish; the less agent on the brush, the easier it is to apply;
- avoid applying the base to the skin, cover all ends with base and pigment, strengthen the nail plate regularly;
- on yellow nails, the coating is less durable, since a certain amount of pigment has been impregnated into it into the top layer, in this case, polish the plates with a buff;
- so that bubbles do not form, in no case shake or dangle the bottle before a manicure, just roll the bottle between your palms;
- avoid applying the coating near heating systems and air conditioners, in this case, there is a high probability of an uneven coating;
- use special dryers or simply soak your nails in cold water.
