How to make a stylish watermelon manicure?
Watermelon manicure is a fresh and bright solution for the usual design of nails. The combination of black, green and red immediately attracts the attention of others and cheers up the owner of an unusual manicure. This design looks best in hot summer or on vacation. It is combined with colorful outfits, but it does not look very good in the company of strict suits, so it is still considered inappropriate in the office.
Stylish design ideas
Summer watermelon manicure has three main varieties. In the first case, watermelon slices are applied at the cuticle line, in the second - at the edge of the nail plate. The third variety is more original - with it, the watermelon is painted in unconventional colors, or stickers are used instead of drawn images. In the case when the watermelon crust is located on the edge of the nail, a kind of variation of the jacket is obtained, therefore such a manicure is done in the same way - using special strips or ordinary scotch tape. First, the entire surface of the nail plate is covered with red, then white is applied to the "smile", and then green.
There is also a so-called variation of "watermelon slices". In this case, all nails are painted bright red, and an image is created on one of the fingers, usually the ring finger. First, a dark green semicircle is drawn on the scarlet surface, and next to it is a thin white line. After the primary colors have dried, watermelon seeds are dotted. By the way, this design is considered suitable for short nails.
A regular dish sponge or a special sponge will allow you to create a "watermelon" gradient in soothing colors. To do this, green and pink shades are located on the palette or immediately on the sponge itself so that green occupies one third of the total area, and pinkish - two thirds. The tool will need to be moistened beforehand. The sponge is gently applied to the nail and, if necessary, slammed several times so that the varnish is evenly imprinted. When the paints are dry, you will need to paint black seeds with a thin brush.
Often the watermelon is located on only two nails. As a rule, they are covered with a cutaway image, and crusts are placed on the remaining fingers. By the way, the arrangement of the pulp can be either horizontal (the crust line at the tip of the nail and a scarlet color reaching the hole) or vertical (the crust is located on one side, and the pulp on the other). Also, the color of the pulp often changes to fuchsia or warm yellow, and the shade of the crust, in turn, is chosen from the most in harmony with it.
If the emphasis is on one nail, then the rest are usually covered with the colors used to create the watermelon, that is, red, white, green and black. In the summertime, it would be good to transform such a design into a fresh manicure. In this case, a slice of watermelon is covered with dots of clear varnish, which indicate drops of moisture.
In a watermelon manicure, both glossy and matte coatings look equally good. - the specific choice depends on personal wishes. It is very important to carefully choose the colors for the picture, since not all shades of green and red are in harmony with each other. Therefore, before starting the procedure, it is worth "rehearsing" on thick cardboard, and it is better not only the colors, but also the complete composition with all the details. The final design, in the case when it turned out to be not too catchy, is allowed to be supplemented with small rhinestones, special powder or black glitter, which acts as seeds. It is recommended to give preference to a longitudinal pattern, which looks more accurate than a transverse one.
Drawing methods
The main condition for a successful watermelon manicure is the selection of natural colors and the drawing as close to reality as possible. Therefore, it is important to immediately determine for yourself whether a person will be able to draw the required details or whether it is better to find ready-made stickers and stamps in the store.
Brush
A thin brush allows you to draw neat grains of watermelon, transverse stripes on its rind and, if necessary, thin lines symbolizing the pulp and the transition between pulp and rind.
Stickers
High-quality stickers will allow you to make a stylish manicure using photo design technology. With the help of images printed on self-adhesive with a cardboard base, it is easy to apply the watermelon either to all or to several fingers. The drawing can be made the same, or you can find a set with which there will be a whole watermelon on one finger, a piece of it on the other, several slices on the third, and so on. The rest of the fingers in this case, as a rule, are covered with monochromatic shades from the presented palette.
To apply a sticker to a nail, it is enough to cut it out of a common sheet, glue it to the already painted nails and fix it with a retainer. There is a similar alternative, however, which is of lower quality - decals. The fragments cut out of the desired shape and size have to be moistened and applied to the nail coating. When dry, they are also fixed with a fixer.
Stamping
Stamping is usually used to place small watermelon triangles on the nails. Since their miniature size requires utmost care, and the ability to place several pieces on one plate means that the image will have to be repeated several times, the use of stamps looks like the most successful solution.
Technique of nail design step by step
Before drawing the watermelon slices step by step, you have to prepare varnishes, a transparent fixer and suitable thin brushes for applying the image. Green and light green varnish will be required to imitate a watermelon rind, red or pink - to decorate the pulp, and black or dark varnish - for seeds and stripes. We must not forget about the white color required to create highlights and veins. First, the necessary preparation takes place: shaping the nail, pushing back the cuticle with an orange stick or cutting with nippers, sanding the surface, degreasing and applying the base.
You can make a special steaming hand bath with lemon juice and essential oils. Holding your fingers in it for about a third of an hour, you can not only steam the skin, but also clean the surfaces. This procedure ends with a thorough wiping and applying a nourishing cream. Prepared nails are painted with dark green varnish over their entire surface. Then, slightly stepping back from the hole, in order to be able to indicate the crust, a white layer is applied.
The arc at the base with a brush is complemented with light green blotches to make the watermelon more realistic. Leaving a thin white line, the remaining nail is covered with red varnish. With a brush immersed in black varnish, rounds are drawn along an arcuate trajectory, symbolizing seeds. When they are dry, with the help of a washed brush and already white varnish, they can be given volume by drawing the blotches. At the final stage, the finished manicure is fixed with colorless varnish.
A variation of a watermelon jacket begins with a similar preparation of the nail. In this case, the application of the base is mandatory. Then, using strips for a jacket, the edge is painted with a scarlet color, and the first layer is dried under an ultraviolet lamp. At the junction of the base and red, a thin white line is applied, and then a light green line next to it. The layer is also dried with a special lamp. Black dots are drawn on the red pulp, symbolizing seeds, and the finished manicure is fixed with colorless varnish.
A calm version of the "watermelon rind" is created using the green shades of varnish. First, the plate is covered with two base layers, and each must be allowed time to dry. Then the marigold turns light green and dries up again. Finally, with a brush, slightly blurry and uneven stripes of a dark green tone are formed. The finished image is fixed with a colorless varnish. This design is recommended for wide nails of an unsuccessful shape, as it visually lengthens the plates.
Beautiful examples
A watermelon manicure made with the use of yellow, hot pink and mint shades looks juicy and tasty. Some of the marigolds are covered with bright yellow, and some are covered with fuchsia varnish. Then, on a pair of yellow marigolds, triangles of watermelons with mint crusts are drawn. In this case, it is important not to forget about the black dots - seeds. Another unusual solution would be to cover some of the nails with watermelon red, some with sky blue and apply watermelon stamping on the latter.
You can diversify the usual gradient if you apply equal amounts of pink and green shades to the sponge. Then the nail plate will have slightly displaced proportions, but the color of the overall picture will be more saturated. In this case, the "stretch" is applied only to the middle and ring fingers, and the rest are painted in the same green.
An unexpected solution is a watermelon moon manicure. In this case, three fingers on the hand are painted in a pale green color with a white arc in the area of the hole, and one - in red with the same white arc. On the last finger, the red color is repeated, but it is complemented by black dots - seeds on the pulp and dark green strokes on a white arc.
Courageous girls are invited to combine a watermelon with another fruit and decorate their right and left hands in different ways.In this case, the nails of one hand are covered with a bright orange varnish, and on a pair of them, an image of an orange slice in a section is created using white. The nails of the other hand are covered with a light green tint and a couple of them are given to draw watermelon slices in a section. It is a good idea to coat the “fruit” nails on both hands with clear polish dots to simulate water droplets.
Summer stylish design can be created using a white shade. All nails of both hands, except for the ring fingers, are entirely painted in it. On the remaining plates, watermelon slices are created necessarily with white interlayers between the crust and pulp. A manicure based on a sky blue shade will look light and fresh. All the plates are covered with this varnish, and then slices of watermelon with soft light green pulp are drawn on a pair of nails of each hand. They should occupy approximately half of the entire surface and, as it were, mirrored at each other.
