Pink-purple manicure - aesthetics and harmony
Pink and purple are the colors that do not lose their relevance and are only becoming more popular every year. Every season there are new shades, and ultraviolet has become the color of the year in 2018. A manicure in pink-purple colors is always effective and original, so you should be careful with it and carefully select suitable shades, otherwise you can overdo it.
Combination of purple and pink
In terms of color, purple is an intermediate color between red and blue, while pink is a lighter version of red. These colors are close, so it is not difficult to combine them. The main thing is to pay attention to saturation and lightness. For example, pastel pink will contrast with a rich dark purple. The warmth and coldness of the shade matters - purple can easily be anything, but pink is more suitable for its warm variations.
Do not add red to this combination - it will look very defiant. It is better to use transitional shades between red and purple - wine, plum, etc. But if you need showiness, then the best option is a combination of purple, red and cyclamen. Cyclamen is a bright and rich version of pink, it fits very well between purple and red.
Fashionable shades
In the fall-winter 2018-2019 season, the American color agency Pantone, which is the focus of the entire design industry, has identified several suitable shades. Among them, however, muted shades prevail, which are composed with a significant addition of gray.
First of all, it is worth mentioning ultraviolet (ultra violet) - this is a grayish-blue-violet shade. This time, Pantone named it the color of the year, and it is very suitable for the coloration of the cold season, as well as for the owners of the winter color type.
Another shade from this list is crocus petal. It closely resembles lavender or lilac, but has a significant amount of gray and white, which give a cool undertone. You can also pay attention to the shades of the last season (spring-summer 2018):
- barely purple (almost mauve);
- spring crocus (spring crocus).
These shades are very light, characterized by a cold undertone and significant lightness. But they can be easily assembled in any type of manicure. Moreover, in a French manicure or ombre, they can easily replace white.
You can find the matching varnish by eye match or compare it with the Pantone shade numbers - many clothing and cosmetic manufacturers use their palette as a basis.
Classic manicure
The most basic option is to paint some nails with purple and others with pink varnish. In this case, the same type of coatings and shades similar in saturation and brightness will look most harmonious. That is, when choosing a pale pink matte varnish, it is better to pair it with lilac and the same matte, and not a dark purple gloss or metallic.
If the classic version seems too boring, the manicure can be diluted with various design solutions. It can be just stickers, rhinestones, etc. With proper skills, you can draw pictures. Geometric shapes in the spirit of avant-garde and cubism will look fashionable and beautiful. In this case, you can divide areas of different colors with metal stripes or metallic varnish. Or just draw contour lines in any color that seems appropriate.
French manicure
The traditional French manicure is a white strip along the edge of the nail plate and a clear coat for the rest. A discreet option would be translucent lilac and matte light pink, or, conversely, transparent pink and matte lilac. So you fit into the office dress code and give your look a touch of originality. For an informal setting, you can afford a French manicure with richer shades. But it is best to arrange them so that they are combined according to the rules of color. Although you can choose a combination of dark purple and pastel pink, if the former will be used for the strip along the edge, and pink for the main part of the nail.
French manicure traditionally assumes that the width of the strip depends on the length of the nail. It occupies the entire part of the nail plate that extends beyond the finger. Departures from this are possible, but this option most often looks like the most successful. At the same time, a rather wide strip leaves a lot of room for creativity - you can make a drawing on it, and depict the strip itself in a bizarre form. Alternatively, it can be divided vertically or horizontally and made two-color - from pink and purple, and cover the rest of the nail plate with transparent varnish.
Ombre
An ombre manicure is a shading transition between different colors and is very similar to a watercolor painting. As a rule, a dark and light shade is taken for this. For a uniform transition between them, it is best to take a third one - for example, light purple. It will provide a uniform finish and no contrast between pale pink and dark purple. Or you can take white and make it the most extreme from the light side, as if continuing the color transition.
Ombre is of two types - with a transition from dark to light and, conversely, from light to dark. The choice will be determined by personal choice, but there are some tricks. If the light part is on the inner side of the nail plate, then the cuticle area merges with it, and with the help of the dark part of the manicure, attention is focused on the edge of the nail.
In the opposite situation, the emphasis is on the cuticle. Therefore, it is highly desirable to pay attention to how smooth and neat the edge of the nail plate is in this place.
One of the most popular and unusual options for ombre is using metallics. Varnishes with such an effect always look spectacular, so it is enough to choose one of such a plan, and take the rest of the colors in classic glossy or matte. In addition, there are thermal gel polishes that change their color from pink to purple. Such gel polishes, for example, are sold under the brand name Canni.
