Soap making is a popular and very relevant activity. For some it is a business, but for others it is just a hobby and an opportunity to make a unique gift. From the simplest ingredients, a beautiful fragrant soap is obtained, when using which a person will always remember the donor with gratitude.

Main ingredients and fixtures

The main product for this process is baby soap. This product contains the least amount of chemical elements and fragrances that can cause allergies. Therefore, homemade soap made from baby soap will not only have a wonderful aroma, but also benefit. Most often, products for children are devoid of dyes, which greatly simplifies the process of cooking at home. The composition should contain a minimum of additives, so carefully study the composition of the product before buying.

Essential oils are also needed for cooking, usually rosehip, orange, sea buckthorn, peach, and grape seed oils are used. In addition, you need to prepare the base; cosmetic oils, for example, burdock, olive or castor oils, are suitable for this. Many craftswomen use calendula or propolis infusions in the preparation of the product.

It is important to add melters to the solution, honey, chocolate, sugar or vanilla can be used as this ingredient.... In order to prevent cracks from forming on the finished product after drying, you need to add a liquid, for example, a decoction of herbs, coffee, tea, milk, mineral water.

There are ingredients that are individually selected by hand-made soap masters. These include: oatmeal, ground coffee, vitamins, flower petals, seaweed.

Some recipes may contain baby cream, cosmetic clay, medicated ointments, dried citrus peel. Sometimes chemical or natural colors are added, such as green juice or turmeric.

The following tools will be required:

  • utensils that can be used for a water bath;
  • molds in which the soap takes on the desired shape, not only specialized molds are suitable for this, but also baking devices or molds made from plastic bottles or juice boxes;
  • grater;
  • blender;
  • knife;
  • spoon;
  • cling film;
  • drying tray.

    Soap Professionals recommend abandoning metal or glass molds, since the soap placed in them is usually difficult to reach.

    Handmade soap made from baby soap is an option for novice soap makers. Feel free to experiment and combine a wide variety of foods as you cook. Over time, you can start more complex recipes and making products from a factory base.

    Soap making is an exciting activity that can bring not only pleasure, but also can grow into a profitable business., because over time, the master can learn how to prepare other cosmetics with his own hands, as well as conduct master classes on making natural home cosmetics.

    Preparation

    The main stage of soap making is the preparation of a soap solution. To make the bar of baby soap easier to dissolve, it is important to grate it before making it. The shavings obtained by grinding baby soap will melt more easily and evenly. When melting in a water bath, it is recommended to add a little milk to the pan, this will not only speed up the cooking process, but also make the future product much softer.

    When mixing liquid base and dry additives, add them rather than pouring them in with the liquid mixture, otherwise the seasonings may stick to the bottom of the container.

    Soap making can be considered a fun activity for the whole family. Connect the child to the process - he will be happy to take part in such an important and interesting business, and then he will be happy to use this soap himself.

    Process description

    To make a hand-made cosmetic product with your own hands, follow these steps.

    1. Grate baby soap (100 g). Pour the shavings into a bowl, pour 150 g of liquid, 1 tbsp. l. base oil and place in a water bath. The solution cannot be boiled.
    2. Add one of the melters above, cook the base, stirring gently all the time, making the mixture into a stretchy substance. You can remove the base from the stove when the consistency is similar to condensed milk.
    3. Having achieved the homogeneity of the mass, you can supplement it with essential oil and all other prepared additives.
    4. We remove the base from the gas, add dyes if necessary. If this is a special product, then five drops are enough. When using natural products, a couple of teaspoons are enough. At the same stage, add flavoring agent - 5-7 drops.
    5. Lubricate the molds with vegetable oil and pour the contents of the bowl.
    6. We leave the forms for a couple of hours. Some craftsmen put the solution in the refrigerator to speed up the hardening stage.
    7. After hardening, we take out the finished product from the molds, spread the cling film on a tray and put the bars of soap on the surface. We leave it for a couple of weeks. The soap is ready.

      So that the result does not disappoint, use a few recommendations from experienced craftswomen.

      • If you use mother of pearl as an additive, try not to overdo it as it stays on your skin. Remember that if you add dry flowers to the composition, then gradually they will change color to grayish. The same color is possible with natural juices or red wine. When using vanilla, it is possible to obtain a yellowish soap.
      • Avoid using fresh berries, fruits or fruit-pulp drinks, these products spoil and soon the soap will become unusable. The same fate awaits the product, which contains poorly dried peel. If these ingredients are still in the composition, then use this soap quickly.
      • If, during the soap making process, the solution accidentally gets on the table, do not rush to clean it up: as soon as the mass cools down, it can be easily removed.
      • If the base practically does not foam and does not lather, then, most likely, the mass was overexposed in a water bath or an excessive amount of base oil was added to the composition.
      • Stir the baby soap shavings very gently. Active stirring will lead to the rapid saturation of the base with air bubbles, which deprives the future product of its softness.
      • If the finished soap is difficult to remove from the mold, then immerse the container in boiling water for a few seconds so that the water does not get on the soap. After this procedure, the product can be easily removed.
      • It is recommended to store soap away from steam, sunlight and high humidity, do not expose it to sudden changes in temperature. Soap can lose color saturation in direct sunlight.
