A neat and original hairstyle is an adornment for any fashionista. It is worth noting that nature has not rewarded all women with thick and voluminous hair. In the modern world, tails (hairpieces) are made from artificial hair to create a stylish look. With the right choice and proper care, this accessory will serve you for a long time.

Peculiarities

False tails are made from both artificial and natural hair. The first ones are distinguished by their low weight, a varied color palette and an affordable price. Their length, as a rule, ranges from 40 to 80 cm. The texture of artificial hair is different: from blonde straight to black wavy.

In most cases, the types of attachments for hairpieces are as follows:

  • on the invoice tape;
  • on a crab - a hairpin (small size).

How to choose a tail?

When buying this accessory, remember that your little feminine "trick" should be invisible and look no different from natural hair. When purchasing an artificial "tail", you should pay attention to certain subtleties of the purchase:

  • the color of the chignon and "native" hair must match;
  • false hairpieces should be of good quality (shiny, silky and easy to comb);
  • the advantage of fastening with a tape is in creating a beautiful hairstyle in a matter of minutes;
  • the crab is more difficult to disguise, but the chignon will be more firmly fixed, unlike the fabric.
  • Don't go overboard with the volume of your fake tail. Otherwise, in combination with "native" hair, it will look ridiculous.

Chignon care

In order for artificial hair not to lose its beautiful appearance for a long time, it is necessary to properly care for it. By analogy with natural ones, they can be dyed, rolled up and even washed. The better you take care of this accessory, the more beautiful and sophisticated your hairstyle will look.

Unnatural tails are contaminated no less than natural ones. Of course, artificial hair is often undesirable for water treatments. Ideally, you can wash them after the 10th "sock".

You should not use classic shampoos (they harm artificial strands). A choice should be made in favor of special care products for "unnatural" strands.

To "soften" the water, add soda to it (2 teaspoons per 1 liter of liquid). Washing your hairpiece is easy, the procedure consists of several steps.

  1. We fill the basin with warm water and add a special shampoo.
  2. Lowers a ponytail made of artificial hair into it for 10 minutes (no more).
  3. Rinse gently. Heavy dirt can be rubbed lightly with a small brush.
  4. Next, we rinse the chignon under cool water.
  5. We wrap the artificial strands in a towel for a few seconds, and then straighten them.
  6. Leave to dry for 10-12 hours. Using a hairdryer and drying in direct sunlight is not recommended.
  7. The procedure can be repeated if necessary.

After the "fake" hair is dry, it must be combed. We take a voluminous comb with soft natural bristles and, dividing the tail into several strands, we begin to comb each from the bottom up. For convenience, we use hairpins and "invisible" hairpins. When "knots" appear, we patiently untangle them with our hands (do not pull!). In extreme cases, the "naughty" strand, literally a few hairs, is carefully cut out with nail scissors.

It is best to store a ponytail made of fake hair on a hanger in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. You can also cover it with a light cotton cloth (do not use cellophane). Removing and putting on overhead hairpieces should be extremely careful. Improper use will significantly shorten the life of the product.

How to fix a chignon on your hair?

Attaching a hairpiece at home will not be difficult. So let's get started:

  • comb clean hair and apply mousse or styling gel;
  • carefully collect the tail on the top of the head and secure it with an elastic band;
  • we make a "bundle" and fix it with pins;
  • spray hair with varnish;
  • we take a ponytail from artificial hair and attach it to a "bun";
  • we immerse the hairpins of the chignon under the bun and tighten with a thin tape around the base of the hairstyle;
  • "Fluff" the false hair, hiding the place of attachment, and again spray with varnish;
  • if desired, the place of "connection" can be decorated with a bright satin ribbon, an original elastic band.

This hairstyle is suitable for both a noisy party and a business meeting.

Synthetic hair can be wavy. You can also wind up unnatural strands at home. There are several ways to curl.

  1. With a curling iron. We warm up the instrument to 190 degrees. We divide the tail into several strands and wind each of them on a curling iron by analogy with natural hair. Curl for 1-2 minutes. Carefully remove each curled strand from the curling iron and let it cool.
  2. In the oven. We heat the oven to 100 degrees. We take a hairpiece and curl each strand on metal or wooden curlers. Place on a baking sheet and place in the oven for 50 minutes. Letting the false hair cool down and proceeding directly to the creation of the hairstyle.

Note that it is often not recommended to heat artificial hair.
