Not all female representatives from birth have real beautiful and thick hair. However, even those women or girls who are in poor condition or are simply thin by nature, thanks to modern innovations, this situation can be easily corrected. Regular hairpieces or curls attached with hairpins will help with this. But from time to time, there may be a desire to change your image. Hair coloring is the most obvious option. You can, of course, buy several hairpieces, but there is not always such an opportunity, and in order to dye them correctly, you need to know and take into account some of the nuances.

Coloring tips

In order for artificial hair to last as long as possible, you need to handle it with care. It is better to dye them in special salons, but if you follow a few rules, you can dye your artificial hair with paint even at home.

  • It must be remembered that curls should be dyed no more than two tones. For example, if your hair is naturally black, then dyeing it straight into blond will not work. This should be done in several stages. In addition, not every dye is suitable for artificial hair, and they are colored a little faster than natural hair.
  • When coloring, it is better to avoid those places where the strands are attached.

You can even use tinted shampoos. However, the layer should not be too thick. First, you need to dilute the shampoo or tonic with a small amount of water and only after that you can start coloring.

  • To get the right tone, you need to pay attention to the table on the box. In addition, you must also consider the combination of skin tone with hair color.First you need to paint the roots and only then do the tips.
  • Also, do not overexpose the paint. In this case, the hair may become drier and more brittle.

Before starting work, be sure to wash your artificial hair with shampoo. This is to ensure that neither grease nor dirt remains on them. Then you need to dry them.

Materials and tools

There are a number of different products you can use to color your artificial hair properly. But with the help of basma or henna (natural dyes), you will not be able to achieve a good result. Better to use other materials. For example, even felt-tip pens or markers will do. You can also use ink or acrylic paints.

Using a felt-tip pen

In this way, you can change the color of your artificial hair. It is especially suitable for highlighting individual strands of lighter hair. So they can be painted, for example, blue. Of course, this is a very painstaking work, especially if you need to highlight the entire wig.

To do everything, you need a high-quality marker of the desired color; for long hair, you need to take two at once. When starting work, it is imperative to wear gloves, this is necessary to keep your hands clean. After that, you need to get the rod out of the felt-tip pen and cut it so that in the end a sponge soaked in the desired paint remains. Further, it will be better to use a ceramic dish into the prepared dishes, pour alcohol, and then dip a sponge into it. Then you can already start the staining itself, lowering it into the dishes along a thin strand.

When the process is over, it is necessary to dry the wig or colored curls, which can then be fixed on hairpins. Drying should be done in a natural way so that the base on which the hair is held does not deform. At the end, you need to comb them carefully.

With batik

Many people use fabric dye - batik to transform wigs. The good thing about this material is that it is absolutely safe for artificial hair. If any other synthetic paint can harm them or make them brittle, then this one can be used, knowing for sure that the hairstyle will remain as luxurious as before. The only negative is that the hair will become a little stiffer, so it will have to be combed much more neatly.

Some girls also note another disadvantage of this staining method. In this case, the paint lays down unevenly. Therefore, it is advisable to use this dye only if some strands are to be dyed, and not all hair.

Everything is done very simply. Three cans of paint are mixed with three liters of water. Artificial strands are immersed in a container with a colored liquid. All this is left to infuse for three days. And so that the tone lays down more evenly, the liquid must be gently mixed once a day. On the fourth day, the strands are taken out and washed under running water until it becomes clean. After that, the hair must be thoroughly dried and combed well. This staining lasts a long time and looks natural.

Ink

Another unconventional material for dyeing artificial hair is ink. This coloring method is suitable for those who want to achieve the most saturated color. The only negative is that the shade disappears quickly, and ink stains can remain on all clothes and things that the strands touch.

In order to dye your hair with ink, you need to choose a suitable shade, put on thick rubber gloves and use a cotton swab to slowly and very carefully process each strand. Having achieved the desired tone, the hair is dried and combed thoroughly.

You need to work with ink as carefully as with iodine (which can also be used to dye nylon wigs), because ink and iodine stains are very difficult to wash off.

Acrylic paints

If all the previous methods seem too ridiculous and time-consuming, then you can go an easier way.A quick and modern way to color fake strands is to use acrylic paint cans.

The process is so simple that even a teenage girl can handle it. By the way, it's worth noting that the same coloring method is used on dolls. Since artificial hair and a wig of some Barbie differ little, you can safely work with this material. The shade is rich and very persistent. In this case, the paint is not printed anywhere.

But we are talking here only about high-quality acrylic paints. It is better to buy them on specialized sites or in stores for artists. And in order to simplify the application process, you need to choose a product in cans. It's extremely easy to work with them. Artificial curls are simply laid out on the newspaper, the can is pre-shaken, after which the paint is gently sprayed onto the strands.

As in other cases, freshly colored hair must be thoroughly dried for at least three hours. After that, you just need to comb the colored strands. This is best done with a good comb.

Sometimes you want to add some bright colors to life. The easiest way to get it right is to change your hair color. And in order not to harm them, it is worth using artificial strands.

After spending a little time fiddling with ink or acrylic paints, you can get bright hair that can be easily removed as soon as you get tired of such a rainbow on your head.
