  1. Manufacturing options

The ability to combine your own hair with false curls in a hairstyle gave endless possibilities for imagination to hairdressing masters. In just a quarter of an hour, the hair regains the desired length and volume. One of the options for building is the use of tresses.

Manufacturing options

You can make tresses yourself at home.

From hair

In order to make do-it-yourself wefts from natural hair, you will need:

  • strong threads;
  • container for liquid;
  • hair of natural origin;
  • a chair with a back or something similar to it;
  • hammer;
  • nails.

    It will be ideal if you do not need a chair for making tresses in the future, since in the process you will have to spoil it considerably. From the right side of the back, you need to hammer three studs so that the distances between them are the same. Only one carnation is hammered from the other side. Wind the threads around the nail on the left, tie a strong knot. Pull the threads to the opposite side of the back so that they are taut. We repeat this operation with all the nails on the right side. Please note that the length of the thread should be 7-10 cm longer than the distance from the left side of the back of the chair to the right.

    Pull the threads from right to left with tension and fasten. When winding on a nail, you need to provide a nuance: if the threads weaken, they can be tightened and fixed again.

    Pour water into a bowl and put hair. Place the container to the right and left of the back (based on your individual preferences). Place another chair so that while sitting on it, you are facing the back of the chair with taut threads. Separate 10-13 hairs from the prepared hair, spread them in water along the entire length with your fingers, so that they are easy to work with.Before you start to weave your hair along the threads, you need to draw a rough diagram.

    Stretch the smoothed hair half the length in the middle of two strands, and then between the second and third. Bend the hair over the third strand towards you, and then stretch it over the first two and pull it a little. Go around the third thread with a lock of hair and pull it towards you. Pull the hairs over the second strand, then over the first towards you.

    Pull well, seal and slide to the left side.

    The same procedure is repeated with other hair prepared for hand braiding.

    The strength of the product will depend on the quality of the threads and the density of the weave itself. For strength, the weft can be sewn on a sewing machine along the formed seam.

    Where the screed passes, double-sided gluing with Moment Crystal gel is recommended. Thanks to this procedure, the hairs will come out less when combing.

    To fix the finished product on the head, you need to sew hairpins to the wefts.

    From goat hair

    Making tresses from goat curls is an easy task, even novice craftswomen can cope with it. Manufacturing time will take about an hour.

    To work, you need the following materials:

    • goat hair;
    • threads;
    • ruler;
    • tracing paper;
    • scissors;
    • sewing accessories;
    • sewing machine.

      Goat wool can be ordered from online handicraft stores. If you have the skill to work with this material and know how to process goat hair, it is recommended to order raw, and not ready-made strands, since it is much more budgetary.

      Rinse the raw well using powder and conditioner to discourage the characteristic goat smell. Dry and divide into strands.

      Cut off a 20 cm long piece of tracing paper. Divide the width of the paper in half and draw a noticeable line with a pencil. Take thin strands and lay them out so that the base is slightly higher than the drawn line.

      On the other hand, we also lay out the strands so that they go slightly overlapping with the previous ones. Repeat the same steps until the middle of the tracing paper sheet is filled. Having reached the desired mark, the sheet must be folded in half.

      Set the smallest step on the sewing machine and sew the product along the center line. Bend the weft in half at the seam. Sew again at a distance of half a centimeter from the first seam. Remove the finished weft from the tracing paper.

      You can make tresses of any length, based on your wishes. The easiest way to calculate the length is based on the width of the tracing paper sheet.

      If tracing paper is not available, it can be replaced with tissue paper. The use of these materials is extremely important in order to achieve a good result. The fact is that sewing the goat wool directly on top of the wool leads to its dumping under the needle or foot of the sewing machine. The tracing paper is very thin and easy to work with, thanks to it the weft remains beautiful, smoothed, and it itself is easily removed at the end.

      Before making tresses, the hair can be dyed. To do this, hair dye must be diluted in a bowl. One or more colors can be used. It is necessary to apply the paint by hand, as the brush designed for this procedure will pull out the goat hair. First, the roots are stained, then the tips of the hairs. For 100 grams of tress, you will need about 2 packs of paint. When all the hair is well oiled, they need to be folded in a bag and left so for 1.5 hours.

      Then rinse each strand with the addition of balm and leave for a quarter of an hour. Rinse again and spread to dry. Comb your curls.
