How to decorate a windowsill for the New Year?

To create a festive atmosphere on the eve of the New Year holidays, it is recommended to decorate not only the Christmas tree, but also decorate the whole house. One of the places that is ideal for creating New Year's decor is the windowsill. There are many different decoration options. It all depends on the size of the window sill, as well as on individual preferences.

In most cases, windows are present in every room. And if there is a window, then a window sill is attached to it. It is recommended to have a separate decor for each room. When decorating a festive window sill, several important points must be taken into account.

1. The decor must be absolutely safe. So, if you plan to use backlighting, it is better that it be artificial. Natural candles can also be used, but they must be constantly monitored.
2. All elements used must be securely fixed on the windowsill. So, if you want to decorate the windowsill with snowflakes made of light materials, you need to fix them. Otherwise, with every breath of wind, they will constantly fly off.
3. All decorations should not be particularly bulky., and do not obstruct the flow of light from the window.

In the children's room, the decor should be as safe as possible. In this case, it is better to make it fabulous.In the central part of the window sill, you can install a small artificial Christmas tree decorated with tinsel. It is not recommended to use natural spruce for two reasons:

• the smell of spruce can irritate the child, interfere with quality sleep;
• needles, which in one way or another will crumble from the spruce, children can take in their mouths or prick their feet and hands.

You can put traditional characters near the tree (figures of Santa Claus, Snow Maiden). You can hang paper snowflakes on the window.

You can stick not only snowflakes on the windowsill, but also animals cut from white paper. In order to make them, you need to download suitable pictures from the Internet (or draw yourself), then carefully cut them out and fix them on the glasses with a glue-pencil. Thus, there is a chance to make very interesting compositions.

As in the children's room, it is not recommended to use live spruce as a decorative material in the adult bedroom. Most likely, the persistent spruce smell will be annoying at night. The window in the bedroom can be decorated with special stickers, which can be purchased in stores, in the party accessories section. It is also easy to make stickers with your own hands according to the same principle as in the children's room.

It is allowed to use lighting in the bedroom. It can be organized in different ways:

• LED Strip Light;
• special New Year's garlands;
• candles (both artificial and real).

The kitchen is a fairly lively place in the apartment, so it is better not to overload the window sill there. Since traditionally the kitchen is used for cooking, it is not recommended to use tinsel, New Year's toys (in particular, this rule applies to glass products), lighting as decor.

For the kitchen, silicone glass stickers are ideal. If necessary, the windows can always be wiped from accumulated dirt with a damp cloth. These stickers can be purchased at the store, or you can make your own. This will require:

• PVA glue;
• a small piece of film (for this purpose, you can use a regular paper file);
• sequins;
• a stencil with a drawn snowflake (you can draw it yourself or download a picture from the Internet).

First you need to take the file and the prepared drawing, and then superimpose them on top of each other. Next, you need to take the glue in your hands and apply it to the prepared drawing using a stencil. Now the drawing needs to be sprinkled with sparkles and left to dry for several hours.

After the snowflakes have hardened, you must carefully separate them from the film. The side that was not sprinkled with sparkles should be slightly moistened with water and can be glued. It turns out very nicely, but the cost is minimal. It is noteworthy that this way you can draw not only snowflakes, but also any other shapes.

The living room is exactly the room in the apartment, the windowsill in which can be decorated in a very unusual way for the New Year. Here you can just use the branches of real spruce. Since people do not sleep in this room, the smell will not irritate anyone. So, to create a New Year's composition on the windowsill, it is recommended to prepare the following:

• spruce branches (the amount depends on the dimensions of the windowsill);
• lights;
• candles;
• tangerines.

First you need to beautifully lay fir branches on the windowsill. Then place candles and decorate the windowsill with lights.At the final stage, it is necessary to arrange real or artificial tangerines in a chaotic manner (depending on individual preferences).

In order for the decor of the windowsill to turn out to be unusual and of high quality, it is recommended to follow some important tips.

1. Before starting winter decoration, you need to wash the window sill well and close the vents (if they were even slightly open).
2. If someone in the household is allergic to citrus fruits, it is not recommended to use them as decoration.
3. If there are pets in the house, it is not recommended to include balls or any other glass toys in the decor.
