Preparing for the New Year is pleasant chores. The atmosphere of a magical family celebration is created from small matters. Dressing up a fir tree, buying and packing gifts, decorating every room in the house - to surprise and give a unique comfort to the most magical holiday of the year. Where is the best place to start? We offer options for ideas and solutions for decoration, how it is beneficial to complement the interior, and what elements should be used to decorate different types of premises.

Variety of decorations

For New Year's decoration use a huge number of decorative items bought in stores and made by themselves, - the main thing is to observe a sense of proportion, style and correctly select the color scheme.

Before you start, estimate the volume of the room and the areas that you plan to decorate. In a small area, huge compositions will look cumbersome, on a spacious one, on the contrary, individual small details will simply be lost. By the New Year I want add magic and unusual to the interior, but completely reworking the design is hardly worth it - it is better to focus on the existing color performance.

Home decorations are advised to select 2-3 shades, for example, white and red or green, golden, white.

Original solution - posters with holiday symbols, cute animals and wishes. For a small room and a nursery, a wall-mounted one looks great. applique... You can do it with your children on a specially prepared surface - a pinned Whatman paper, wardrobes, interior doors.

Rain traditionally used for decoration - they hang it on the ceiling and walls, decorate a Christmas tree.A corner or niche that has been draped with rain looks spectacular. In this way, it is easy to highlight one part of the space and create a bright background. Balls and beads decorate windows, lamps, countertops, mirrors. Build voluminous collages from branches and toys... Make up wreathsstringing multi-colored toys on a wire. Transparent glass vases, glasses, boxes filled with balls and beads of different diameterswill help fill in empty spaces in the interior.

The most amazing decorations are obtained from cones... They are used to make Christmas decorations, candlesticks, simple and composite mini-Christmas trees, long chains, Christmas wreaths, and are included in New Year's bouquets. Cone - a universal piece of decor, often covered with paint, decorated with spruce branches, tinsel and ribbons. Children really enjoy making fairy-tale characters and animals.

Glowing colored lights will be the final chord of New Year's preparation. In the darkest time of the year, it is light garlands become the center of everyone's attention. They are used not only to illuminate the green beauty. Door and window openings, stairs, ceilings and walls - everywhere, subdued light will add magic and mystery to the atmosphere of the house. Popular are led garlands and shapes due to the long service life and economical use of electricity.

It is considered a big advantage that they can be placed not only indoors, but also outdoors, even at low temperatures.

How can you decorate different parts of the room?

To choose decorations for the interior the style of the house itself, the purpose of a particular room and the winter themes that will be used for decoration will affect. For a hallway, a huge number of elements are not always appropriate. You can add a sense of the upcoming holiday with a few strokes.... For example, a bouquet of branches in a vase or a wreath attached at the exit. Wishes and congratulations look interesting in front of the front door.

It is customary to decorate stairs spruce pawsthat braid ribbons and beads, but not everyone may like this method. Why not put tinsel on the railing or decorate Christmas balls... Or cover with a white cloth under the snow, sitting on top of funny figures - as if rolling down the mountain.

Hang socks or knee-highs on the rungs filled with sweet surprises and little things - kids will love it.

Pine cones or snowflake trim on the railing posts will look cozy. Add at the base of the staircase flower potsin which we put spruce branches, decorate with cones and Christmas decorations - this option will cost quite budget. In the hall, the central place, of course, is occupied by a large spruce tree with cheerful colored lights. But if the green beauty itself is small, then it will be complemented by several luminous garlands placed behind it, or in the window opening, this will give additional illumination.

Several compositions from branches in a large room, they will help create a festive mood if there is no Christmas tree. I don't want to decorate the whole space - arrange all the objects in one place and make a festive corner... Do you want to more carefully approach the meeting of the most magical day of the year in order to fill the whole house with a holiday? Let's try to decorate every part of the room.

Walls

When choosing decor elements, pay attention to what materials the walls are decorated with. How do you plan to attach? Suitable for a tree carnations and buttons, will hold on to the paint double-sided tape and glue, light details can be pinned to the wallpaper tailor's pins. It is important to remember that you need to install it so that later it would be convenient to remove the jewelry without damaging the background.

The options are:

  • figures are laid out from glowing lights, for example, a spruce or a star;
  • stickers - flat and voluminous - will help fill in the empty space;
  • posters will create a New Year's atmosphere with a minimum of effort;
  • compositions - it will take a little imagination and work to plan and implement what is conceived.

Ceiling

You can decorate evenly the entire area at the top, but then it is better not to overload the lower part with a lot of details. They also choose several areas where the decor looks good. Often such a place is a chandelier or an area above the table, at which the whole family gathers. The festive design of the upper section should blend in harmoniously with the interior design.

Windows and doors

The same decorations that were used for the ceiling are suitable for the window opening. Balls, wreaths, ribbons will look great from inside and outside... Let's draw frosty patterns on the glass or stick snowflakes. Draw and cut shapes using a stencil. We will place checkered napkins on the windowsill, and on top of the candles and funny figures. Wrap the pots of indoor plants with bright paper, stick tree branches with Christmas tree decorations into the ground. Put red caps on the cacti - and here is a flock of gnomes in front of you. Decorate the cactus needles with beads - and you get an elegant bush.

For doors, garlands, stickers and wreaths made of natural and artificial materials are an excellent option. Tying a bow on the door, hanging a congratulation card on the handle is a great surprise for everyone at home.

Ideas for different rooms

When thinking about how to decorate the interior of their apartment, they often do not take into account the peculiarities of the room for which they are choosing the design. Consider different types of premises, each deserves special attention.

Hallway

The abundance of New Year's accessories in the hallway will only interfere with the guests, but a few bright details will diversify the overall look. Here Ceiling garlands and lighting are perfect. A large mirror can be painted with frosty patterns or funny snowmen can be pasted on.

Living room

Here they receive guests, the whole family gathers, they put the tallest spruce, unfold gifts. The main holiday is also celebrated here. When decorating, be sure to take into account the overall design of your living room, try not only to dress it up, but also to breathe a magical mood. Little tricks will help make it unforgettable. Put in the living room fireplace, not necessarily real - homemade from cardboard backlit will also create a cozy atmosphere. Bundle of socks will bring the big picture to life. Drawing or applique on the wall in the form of a fireplace will also look impressive.

Plaid blankets on armchairs and sofas will add a feeling of warmth and comfort. Winter-themed pillows and fur capes - a great combination. Choose the shades that decorate the interior compositions, otherwise you will feel discomfort instead of pleasant relaxation. In the design of the New Year's living room, it is recommended to stay at 1 or 2 colors. Light and bright spots are added to a dark room. Light - filled with bright and darker accents. Let's arrange Christmas attributes on the shelves and countertops. Let's decorate a small table with a bouquet of fir branches, candles and toy figures.

Children

Children are waiting for the holiday more than anyone else. Therefore, they put more effort into the children's room - different and colored details will help create a fabulous comfort. It should be remembered - all decoration must be safe for children. For the little ones New Year's beauty from felt placed on the wall. Balls and beads also made of felt - in front of us is an educational toy. How the kid likes to dress her up.

We decorate with older children, taking into account the wishes and tastes. For example, decorate the glass on the window or glue the garland on the wall. The girl can be offered to make her dollhouse festive, to dress up dolls. The toy house can be made by yourself and placed next to the bed. The boy is more likely to like a house that you can climb into, or a tent.

Curtains, bed linen with holiday prints will delight both boys and girls. Cute covers on furniture in the nursery, a wall panel - it all depends on the possibilities and imagination. These Scenery add coziness and create a holiday.

For a teenager, the best option would be festive lighting, photographs and posters on the walls. Focus on the preferences of the teenager: one will like the Christmas tree near the bed, and the other will like the accent composition.

Cabinet

For a room where it is necessary to work fruitfully, there is no need for a large number of decorations. A few details that will remind you of the holiday. They are placed on the window, walls, ceiling and in such corners where they will not interfere with anyone. Most often it happens miniature Christmas trees or compositions of branches. Often use Garlands, Hang balloons and congratulatory lettering.

For an office in the house, you can make a corner where your eyes will rest in between work... Suspended composition in the form of a spruce looks original and does not take up space. But in this way you can decorate a garage or workshop. An excellent decor option for a sewing studio.

Do-it-yourself decor elements

Fireplace

From cardboard, polystyrene, drywall you will get an original decoration. We offer to design a fireplace at home from cardboard boxes.

  1. You will need small boxes of the same type, from which the entire structure is assembled and glued in the form of the letter "P" with glue "Moment" or "Titanium". It is imperative to make the back wall. You can also make a base on which the fireplace will stand.
  2. The parts are glued to the structure and allowed to dry. After this, the joints and corners are pasted over with newspaper or paper.
  3. Then you can paint it with white acrylic paint. Or paste over with bricks made of foam or cardboard. You can also decorate with brick-like wallpaper.
  4. Inside, a place is left where electric lights are placed - this is a fire in a fireplace. As shown in the photo, the corner version is cut out and assembled from the TV package in a short time.
  5. On the mantelpiece we put figures of gnomes, fir branches and hang socks.

Vase branches

Spruce paws will look great in a planter, flower pot or vase... They are decorated with Christmas decorations and tinsel. You can apply artificial snow or white spray paint to them. After smearing the twigs with glue, sprinkle glitter or crumbled foam on them.

In this way, frost can be applied not only to spruce branches, but also to pine and deciduous trees.

Wreath

From improvised natural materials it will turn out wreath... On a thick wire, rolled into a ring, using thinner wire, fishing line or coarse threads, we successively attach small bouquets of branches in a circle. We place them on one side in a counterclockwise direction until they close the circle along its entire length. Decorate with ribbons and other details.

Snowflakes

It is easy and quick to make snowflakes from branches. This will require twigs and a glue gun. They can be decorated with buttons, beads, covered with white paint and sparkles. Beautiful and airy snowflakes are also made from paper. Four paper snowflakes glued to each other form a three-dimensional shape. Snowflakes are made not only from paper, but also from cotton swabs and cotton pads. Made from pasta, buttons and cones.

Cones

Unusual and very Christmas elements for the interior come out of natural materials. From cones you can make:

  • Garlands;
  • wreaths;
  • small Christmas trees;
  • candlesticks.

You can fill a transparent vessel with cones, add bright beads - and before us is an excellent composition for a table or a sideboard. Often used to decorate a festive table.

Garlands of paper

To do this, you need paper: colored paper, pages from glossy magazines, newspapers and any other will do.

  1. Let's prepare a stencil - it can be a circle with a diameter of about 6 cm or a star, a flag, a herringbone and other shapes.
  2. We cut out elements of the same or different colors according to the template, and then fasten them together.
  3. We attach the details to the thread or glue them together.
  4. Several of these crafts hung over the ceiling will create a unique atmosphere.

Garlands of threads

For crafts, you will need multi-colored threads, PVA glue, starch, balloons and petroleum jelly.

  1. We inflate the balls of such a size, what the diameter of the future elements will be - 6-10 cm.
  2. We hang and apply Vaseline on top.
  3. Pour glue into a flat dish and add starch - this way the threads after drying will keep their shape better. You will need 1.5 cups of glue and 0.5 cups of starch.
  4. The threads are moistened with glue and wound around a ball, leaving a small hole through which the base will then be pulled out after drying. The glue will dry for about a day.
  5. Finished balls are collected in a chain.

Can be combined with LED garlands - then the balls will be illuminated from the inside.

Beautiful examples

To decorate each room you can choose a certain style solution. It should be in harmony with the interior of the house, please the owners and create an overall holistic composition. Consider the material, color and texture, the size of the decorations on the Christmas tree. If you removed the spruce in white and gold tones, then the bright colors in other parts of the room will look out of place, and vice versa.

  • Minimalist style... Used white color, a little decor, natural branches and candles. Light and space prevail, the decor only accentuates the transitions.
