In every kitchen of an apartment, house, restaurant, cafe or any other catering establishment, the knife is the main tool. A huge variety of knives for the kitchen is in a wide range of prices and quality, which often makes it difficult to choose among the majority of ordinary people. High quality German Wusthof knives are rightfully considered one of the best in terms of functionality and design. The unique technology of their production allows the products to occupy a leading position in the hearts of world connoisseurs of exquisite culinary art.

About company

The family business for the production of "thin steel products" Wusthof has existed since 1814 and was founded by Abraham Wüsthof in Solingen. The company is now known as ED. Wüsthof Dreizackwerk KG, headed by the heirs in the 7th generation of the family - Viola and Harald Wüsthof.

In 1895, the trademark of the company was registered in Berlin - Poseidon's trident (Dreizack), symbolizing the three principles of the company concept - passion, diligence and excellence.

Over a period of more than two centuries of existence, Wusthof products have gained a reputation as a manufacturer of premium quality and functional knives.

The company's production facilities include 3 innovative factories with a total area of about 22,000 m2, located in the city of Solingen, called the "city of blades".

Manufacturing technology

The perfection of Wusthof production technology does not stand still, and in 2010 the company introduced the innovative Precision Edge Technology. The essence of this technology allows ultra-precise robotic systems to simulate the angle of sharpening of the blades., resulting in blades sharpened at 28 degrees (from the last 40 degrees).And the thinner blades provide the highest levels of initial cutting performance and long-lasting sharpness.

Multifunctional German Wusthof knives are made from a single piece of quality stainless steel, enriched with carbon and hardened to a hardness of 58 HRC. Computer modeling of the blades allows the creation of well-balanced instruments that fit perfectly in the hand.

The handles are made of non-slip, corrosion-resistant plastic and African black wood.

Collections and assortment

Most of the Wusthof blade collections are designed in a calm and laconic style. Their simple shapes and colors are ideally matched and give the products European elegance and sophistication.

For each object, a special blade structure is used, justified by the area of its application. Diverse in style and purpose, Wusthof kitchen knives come in several popular collections.

Xline

One of the new premium blade collections awarded with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in 2013. The name of the collection is associated with the image of the letter X, made by the modern method of forging on the bolster of each dagger. The collection contains 8 blades of the classic style, belonging to the highest price category Wusthof.

    Classic

    It represents the classic German Wusthof knives with a brand name on the handle, perfect sharpening quality and a long-term guarantee of sharpness of the blades. The collection includes about 40 knife modifications, suitable for any kind of kitchen.

    Ikon line

    It is rightfully considered an icon of the German Wusthof style. The aesthetic elegance of the blade shape distinguishes the cutting equipment of this modification from other blades of Wusthof. Thanks to the Full Tang design, maximum comfort and balance is achieved, and the high quality of sharpening ensures maximum functionality of the equipment.

    The Ikon line contains three collections of cutting objects: Ikon, Classic Ikon and Ikon Cream White, which differ in color and handle materials. In the Ikon series, the knife handles are made of African ebony wood, and in the Classic Ikon collection, the handles are made of black synthetic material; Ikon Cream White knives have synthetic cream riveted handles. This collection contains over 20 different cutting tools suitable for any kind of culinary work. Blades of the Ikon series belong to the highest price category of Wusthof products.

      Wusthof Culinar Series

      Made entirely of hardened stainless steel for a refined style. Unusual design is achieved by satin-polished handles with the Wusthof trademark. The collection includes 20 different knives for professional and domestic use.

        Collections Grand Prix II, Grand Prix II Color

        These collections combine maximum performance with striking, stylish designs. The blades are made of strong hardened steel, the plastic anti-slip handles and ultra-sharp blades add to the balance of the design. A distinctive feature of the Grand Prix II Color knives is that the color of the handles corresponds to a specific product: meat - a tool with a red handle, vegetables - with a green one, fish - with a blue one, poultry - with a yellow one. The collection includes more than 20 different blades and is in the middle price range.

          A versatile set of blades from this collection will be a wonderful gift for true connoisseurs of culinary arts and amateur chefs.

          Le Cordon Bleu line

          It was developed in conjunction with specialists from the British Culinary Academy. Externally, the blades of this collection are identical to the Classic line, however, they are lighter than classic models by almost 30%, which makes them as comfortable as possible for long-term work in a professional kitchen.

            Collection Wusthof Gourmet

            Knives from this collection have a simpler configuration and a significantly lower cost compared to others. Tool handles are made of high quality black polypropylene material with rivets. Simple design, functionality, affordable price, a large selection of models (more than 40 types) allow using Wusthof Gourmet blades in almost every kitchen.

              Silverpoint knives

              The collection is one of the most affordable. The high-strength blade edge is combined with environmentally friendly plastic handles to create a discreet yet attractive style and high functionality.

              Each collection includes blades of various sizes and purposes. The largest is the chef's (male) knife or chef's knife, it has a length of 20 to 25 cm and is intended for most of the culinary work. Universal kitchen daggers 13-16 cm long are more suitable for women and are a combination of the qualities of a chef's knife and slicer.

              The Wusthof company produces three main types of blades that are included in a set of commonly used knives in the home kitchen:

              • a universal chef's knife for basic types of work;
              • sorter for slicing bread, cakes, vegetables and fruits;
              • small knife for "small" work (peeling vegetables, chopping garlic, etc.).

              Among the many positive characteristics and advantages of Wusthof knives, only one drawback can be distinguished - this is their high cost. But if you take into account the considerable price for high-quality and environmentally friendly materials, as well as a very laborious production process, then the company's pricing policy fully justifies itself. After all, the very best cannot be cheap.

              The company with the Dreizack logo has perfectly established itself as a company producing high quality German Wusthof knives with a guarantee of durable service and environmental friendliness of production. The company's developers make every effort to ensure that the products meet the needs of customers as much as possible, as well as international quality and functionality standards.
