If it seems that after the next winter season, what you put on remained clean, you still need to wash it, and the surest way is to put it in an automatic machine. Only ignorance of the clear rules here is fraught with the fact that the product can be damaged irrevocably.

Which mode should you choose?

In modern conditions, even a child can wash a blanket in a washing machine, the main thing is to know which function and mode to choose for this.

When choosing a program for the "machine", the composition of the filler and the color of the cover are specifically taken into account:

  • a colored bedspread will require a gentle wash;
  • woolen and silk blankets are washed in special modes indicated on the machine for such fabrics;
  • for bedding made of synthetic winterizer, silicone, holofiber, the "synthetics" mode is suitable;
  • the "duvet" mode speaks for itself, but in this case the "servant" program is also suitable.

To correctly set the temperature regime, you must familiarize yourself with the instructions for caring for the product. The pillow and blanket manufacturer describes the details on the label, which is why it is so important to keep it for as long as possible until you remember the information you need. Some recommendations:

  1. silk and wool products require cool water no higher than 35 degrees;
  2. at temperatures up to 45 degrees, down duvets, products made of bikes, cotton wool, bamboo and other natural fillers are washed;
  3. hotter water - up to 60 degrees, used for cleaning synthetic and linen bedspreads.

During cleaning of such products, a repeated or additional rinsing is recommended, and in order to prevent the filler from rolling into lumps, a minimum of 300-500 revolutions are selected for wringing.

Choice of means

When choosing what to wash bedding, proceed from what kind of filler they have. It is preferable to use liquid formulations. So, it is better to wash woolen products with such compositions:

  • "Villus";
  • Help;
  • Luxus
  • "Stork Cashmere".

These liquid products do not require the use of conditioners. Swan down blankets are washed with down jacket care compositions:

  • "Profkhim";
  • "Unipuh";
  • Salton;
  • Woly and others.

But granular (free-flowing) powders are suitable for synthetic materials. It:

  • "Spring tenderness";
  • "I was born";
  • "Eared nanny";
  • BabyLine.

A temperature regime is selected not higher than 60 degrees, flannel and patchwork quilts are not twisted. In the absence of liquid powder, it is possible to use granular, but only in small quantities. It is best to use when washing blankets of all types of gels and capsules with a viscous composition. Among these products are hypoallergenic products for children.

When choosing a detergent for washing blankets, you need to take into account not only the composition of the filler, but also the fabric of the cover. For a silk base, you can make a solution from soap (household) or use liquid formulations:

  • "Shama";
  • "Big washing";
  • Dreft;
  • Perwoll;
  • "Weasel".

Powders (liquid or granular) should not contain bleach, therefore it is advisable to familiarize yourself with their description on the package before use.

Washable depending on the material

When cleaning bedding with fillers, it is recommended to put 4-5 tennis balls or special balls for washing into the machine. They break up the fibers and prevent the filler from rolling.

Without them, lumps can form in the blanket. Let's consider separately the rules for washing blankets made of different materials.

Wadded

Before washing, you must inspect the product, sew up holes or reinforce the seams so that the filler does not fall out while the drum is running. Otherwise, this will lead to damage to the cover itself and breakdown of the "machine", the filter may clog. Then they do this.

  1. The blanket is folded in three layers and rolled up, after which it is placed in the drum of the washing machine.
  2. Gel is poured into the container (only liquid composition is suitable for this material).
  3. Start the machine on a delicate mode at 30-40 degrees. 40 is installed in case of heavy dirt.
  4. You can turn on the function of an additional rinse and spin at 600 revolutions, sometimes 800 is allowed.

If there is an opportunity to dry the washed product in a typewriter, you need to take advantage of this, and hang it up only for a short time to dry it.

Downy

Before washing such a product, you need to read the information on the label, since the manufacturer can indicate only hand wash or dry clean. In this case you need to use dry cleaning services.

If machine wash is not prohibited, then the blanket is folded into a roll and placed in the drum together with several special spiked balls or tennis balls - they will let the fluff go astray.

Remember that you can only use gel for washing, synthetic powder is not suitable in this case, it can only damage the pen.

Woolen

Previously, wool products were washed only by hand, today modern washing machines have special functions with water heating up to 30 degrees and without spinning. The blanket is lightly wrung out by hand and allowed to drain. Rapid revolutions lead to material deformation and stretching.

The best option is to use the "light dry" mode or leave it in the bathroom to drain, and then take it out into the air.

Camel hair

This is a very beautiful and necessary thing. Manufacturers recommend do not expose the camel blanket unnecessarily to water and powders. When there are strong stains on it, wash it together with a duvet cover or in a special cover.

Dry cleaning the product with lanolin cleaners will also help out. When dissolved in liquid, they produce a foam that cleans up the dirt.But camel wool is antistatic, it is not able to absorb large amounts of dust, with proper care, camel blankets can last up to 30 years. They are light, warm, practically do not cause allergic reactions.

Sinteponovoe

The product made of padding polyester can be easily machine washed. Here are the basic guidelines:

  • wash it with a synthetic liquid composition without bleach and fabric softener;
  • throw several tennis balls into the drum, which will make the synthetic winterizer more magnificent;
  • you can turn on the "intensive rinse" mode;
  • spinning set at around 600 rpm;
  • no special conditions are required for drying, the blanket can be hung on a clothesline, horizontal bar or other device.

Such products are very light, they can be wrung out, they dry quickly and retain their shape well.

With silk filler

It is dangerous to wash silk in an “automatic machine”, it is better to remove stains with foam or soapy water, without soaking the entire product in water, but you can go to a dry cleaner. If, nevertheless, you decide to clean it at home, then remove the silk filling and clean only the cover itself. Then assemble the product.

Bamboo

This very light product, reminiscent of a padding polyester blanket, is just as easy to wash, wring out and dry. You can wash it with powder at 30 degrees, dry it in the "drying" mode, then take it out and put it on air.

Baikovoye

A bike is a very comfortable material, when washing it, the main thing is to familiarize yourself with the information on the tag and find out what is the percentage of wool content in it and other natural ingredients... The more there are, the more delicate the wash should be. The washing mode is selected with a minimum spin and a water temperature not higher than 40 degrees.

In this case, it is appropriate to use an air conditioner, which will give the bike blanket additional attractiveness. Strong stains are recommended to be washed in advance by hand using laundry soap.

From holofiber

Holofiber withstands high temperatures, mechanical stress and intensive washing, it does not deform and does not lose its shape. But if the top is not too dirty, you should not abuse the extra turns to refresh the products from this filler, a delicate regime will be enough. Add spinning speed and hot water in critical cases, when bleach is acceptable, if the fabric base of the cover allows it.

Advice

Let's summarize and highlight the main tips:

  • it is important to check the product for integrity before washing;
  • the blanket is not pushed into the drum at random, it is not rolled tightly into a roll;
  • the choice of detergent or powder depends on the material;
  • tennis balls in the drum will improve the process;
  • spinning of blankets is possible up to a maximum of 600 revolutions.

Do not throw away the label, it will provide additional information. There is no need to break the rules of washing and conduct experiments. Products with synthetic fillers are easy to wash, which cannot be said about blankets made of sheep or camel wool. They need to be ventilated more often and always put in a duvet cover so that they are less washed.

Another important point: when wet, the blankets absorb enough water and become 2 times heavier. Therefore, the product should be weighed before washing. If the scales show 3 kilograms, and your “machine” is designed for washing 5 kilograms of linen, then such a blanket will not fit into your machine.
