How long do the tint products last on the hair?

Tonics are used for temporary coloring of strands. Balms are short-lived and, in comparison with ammonia paint, are quickly washed off. However, not all girls know how long tint products last on their hair.

A characteristic feature of tinting agents is their relative harmlessness. In the composition of shampoos and balms for coloring, there is no ammonia, therefore they do not destroy the hair structure. At the same time, tonics are not suitable for a radical change of the image.

Tonics are divided into several types depending on the strength of the effect on the hair and the durability of the funds:

• Sparing. Such products do not contain ammonia and other potent chemical compounds. The tonic acts on the upper part of the hair and does not penetrate into its structure. These balms and shampoos are used to add color and are washed out 1-2 weeks after use.

• Easy action. The tonic is used for more permanent staining. After the procedure, the color changes by 2-3 tones and lasts from two weeks to a month. In this case, the product penetrates into the hair.

• Deep action. Suitable for the most fundamental remedies in the tonic line. The composition of the funds includes aggressive compounds, due to which it is possible to obtain a more lasting effect. The color remains for more than a month, the period can be increased up to eight weeks with special hair care and the use of products for colored strands.

It is characteristic that only after tonics can the natural color be restored.In the case of permanent dyes, you will have to wait for the hair to grow back completely. After applying shampoos and balms, a natural shade will appear. An exception is the case when the composition was overexposed or used incorrectly.

A complex of factors affects the durability of tinting agents. This is due not only to the type and brand of tonic, but also to the subsequent care of colored hair. Following the recommendations of experts, it will be possible to give the color durability, make it more saturated.

What affects the durability of tint products:

• Frequency of bath procedures. How long the tonic will last on the hair directly depends on this criterion. The product is washed out after 5-7 washes, because those who take a bath every day, the strands will fade faster.
• Water temperature. Hot wash out the color faster, therefore, to maintain a rich shade, it is recommended to take a shower in slightly cooler water. Alternatively, while washing, the hair should be wetted to a minimum.
• Using shampoos and conditioners for colored hair. Thanks to the use of special tools, it is possible to increase the durability of the tinting agents several times.

• Original color. Best of all, the tonic lays down on blonde hair, it lasts longer on such curls. Tint shampoo applied to discolored curls is the most difficult to remove. In contrast, on dark hair, the tonic will last from seven days to a couple of weeks.

• The selected shade. Bright shades wash out faster. To maintain the saturation of the pink or blue tonic, the color will have to be updated regularly: once every one to two weeks. At the same time, if the product gave an unexpected effect (for example, if the product was overexposed on streaked strands and got a green or purple color), the result will last a long time. It will have to be removed using washes.

If toner is applied to previously dyed strands, the color will last longer. This is due to the fact that products based on ammonia and other aggressive compounds make the hair structure porous, exfoliate scales, which makes the tinting agent penetrate deeper.

Sometimes there is a need to prematurely get rid of the tonic. Before painting, it is recommended to check the action of the product on a separate strand in order to understand what the final color will be. Otherwise, the result may be unpredictable.

In addition, special washes and home remedies are used:

• Fermented milk drinks. They are mixed with honey, vegetable oil, gently rubbed into the hair and left for an hour. The mixture is used once a day until the color disappears completely.

• Cosmetic clay. Kefir, orange oil or lemon juice are added to it. The solution is kept on the hair for 20-30 minutes, if necessary, the procedure is repeated 2-3 times.

• Burr oil. It is used alone or in combination with other means. The advantage of this method is that it has a healing effect on the hair.

• Soda. One of the most aggressive ways to go as a last resort. After the procedure, the curls are moistened with a balm or conditioner, since the baking soda dries the hair.Soda is mixed with salt, applied to hair for 10-15 minutes, then washed off with vinegar solution.
• Cleaning products. This is the most extreme method and should be used with caution. The composition is applied to the strands for 5-10 minutes, then washed off. The downside is that the product can ruin your hair. However, sometimes only it is able to get rid of the color you don't like.
