How to make origami in the form of a squirrel?
The squirrel is present in many children's fairy tales. Thanks to its bright color and lush tail, this animal is easily recognizable. And in Eastern culture, where origami came from, it is considered a symbol of fertility.
Simple option
Thanks to the instructions, even small children can make a cute animal:
- You will need a 21x2 square sheet of paper. It is better to choose an orange color to make the squirrel bright and beautiful. The assembly diagram is pretty simple. The paper is folded in half on both sides and straightened.
- The sides must be bent towards the center line.
- The resulting rectangle is positioned horizontally. The sides fold back towards the center and spread out.
- The rectangle appears to be divided into eight squares. The corners of the outermost squares bend to opposite corners and return to their original position.
- The resulting triangle must be opened and bent so that 2 rhombuses appear.
- The figure is turned over and is positioned vertically. Both sides of the upper triangle are folded towards the middle. The whole structure folds in half.
- In the upper triangle there is a strip along which the tops are bent. The bent figure is revealed. There is a strip in the triangle. With its help, the top leans forward. The sharp corner is folded inward. This is the squirrel's head.
- The lower triangle folds along the visible lines and returns to its original position.
- The figure unfolds, the lower rhombus appears. The sides fold down.
- The tail is pushed inward. A triangle appears, symbolizing the legs.
- The upper legs are on the sides. They need to be bent on both sides.

Assembling a modular craft
This craft is more complex and painstaking in its technique. You will need to make 299 orange and 90 white large modules, as well as 6 and 8 white smaller ones.
- The trunk consists of 139 orange and 37 white segments. They are connected to each other with glue. Better to use PVA. The first row includes 6 white and 14 orange modules, the second a little more - from 5 and 15, respectively, and the third is built from 14 orange and 6 white segments. The resulting ring from the rows must be turned over.
- The fourth row requires 17 orange and 3 white segments.
- The fifth row consists of 14 orange and 2 white modules on the belly. Six colored spots are located on the sides, and 2 light spots are in the center.
- The sixth row has 18 segments: 2 orange and 1 white on the belly, 5 on the sides and on the back.
- The seventh row includes 17 modules: 2 are white, the rest will be orange. White modules are located on the back.
- The eighth row consists of orange modules only.
- The ninth is created from 11 segments. Two whites are on the back.
- The tenth consists of orange modules.
- In the 11th row there are 4 orange and 2 white modules. White ones are on the back.
- In rows 12-15, segments are added only on the back. In 12 and 14 there are only 1 light module, in 13 and 15 - 2 each.
- The torso and sides are glued together.
- For the head, you need 33 orange and 17 light segments.
- The first and second row is made of 5 small modules.
- The third row consists of 5 standard size modules.
- The fourth row consists of 6 segments. Two light ones are on the same edge.
- In the fifth row there are 7 modules: 5 orange and 2 white.
- The sixth row includes 6 orange and 1 white modules.
- In the seventh row there are 6 orange and 1 white segments on the side of the forehead.
- In 8 and 9 rows, 7 modules each.
