In the Japanese origami technique, people can craft a huge number of different shapes. For example, these can be crafts in the form of soldiers. There are many schemes according to which such origami products are modeled. In this article, we will learn how to properly make a soldier in the Japanese origami technique.

What is necessary?

Origami "Soldier" can be modeled not only by experienced, but also by novice masters. There are many simple schemes that even the smallest masters can easily master. In order to make original figures of this type with your own hands, it is very important to prepare all the necessary materials and tools.

To make crafts using the origami technique, you will need:

  • colored paper (since a figurine of a soldier will be made, it is advisable to use sheets of green, black and beige);
  • scissors with sharp blades (It is not recommended to use a blunt office tool, since it will not allow making even and neat cuts);
  • glue stick (You should not use liquid PVA glue, as it leaves ugly marks on the paper, especially if you apply it a little more than necessary);
  • pencils or markers.

This is the simplest set of prerequisites. They should be immediately laid out on the work surface so that at the right time the master can quickly take the desired item.

Classic version

You can make different variations of soldier-shaped figures from paper. Such a craft can be done in honor of February 23rd.

Often making such things turns out to be a task for preschoolers in kindergarten. In this case, it is advisable to use lighter schemes that are suitable for small children.

Let's consider step by step instructions on how to fold a military paper craft correctly.

  1. To model a paper soldier, you need to prepare a sheet of A4 paper. It is advisable to use double-sided colored paper.
  2. From the edge of the paper sheet, it should be noted 7 cm in the lower and upper parts. It is necessary to mark a straight strip of paper, and then carefully cut it off. At this stage, it is better to follow the child's actions by an adult to avoid possible injury.
  3. The cut piece of paper should be set aside. It will be needed at the next stages of modeling the craft: a garrison cap will be formed from it.
  4. The green sheet must be folded in half. It will also need to be pushed through. After that, the sheet is opened. The fold line should be clear and clearly visible.
  5. Now the paper needs to be folded so that the cuts at the top and bottom touch the fold line. As a result, a fold will emerge, which in accordance with Japanese technology is called a "door".
  6. The paper blank must be turned over to the other side, and then re-fold the top and bottom edges towards the center. They should touch the line in the middle.
  7. The figurine is turned over to the side where the paper cuts are. You will need to grasp the paper cut with your fingers, and then gently bend it with a petal, without reaching the bottom. This will form the sleeves of the soldier's tunic. Then you will need to make a second sleeve.
  8. The workpiece is turned over to the other side, after which it is folded so that both a tunic and trousers are formed.
  9. Fold can be done with a ruler. This will make the line clearer.
  10. The figurine is turned over, then the line of the next fold is marked. It should be about 1 cm below the shoulder line.
  11. A fold is made along the marked line. From the newly formed fold, they retreat down by 1 cm: the line of another fold will be located here.
  12. Now the part is folded over. If you look at the workpiece from the side, it will have the shape of the letter "M".
  13. The product is turned over. The part that forms the collar of the tunic will protrude about 2-3 mm from the top.
  14. The figurine is turned over again. The corners of the sleeves are tucked up.
  15. Next, boots are formed from black paper 10x10 cm. Paper blanks are folded in half diagonally.
  16. The paper leaves are folded in half, after which the sides are tucked inward along the previously formed folds. This will create a basic double triangle shape.
  17. The resulting triangle is folded in half. In this case, the vertex should touch the base.
  18. The top of the triangular piece should be released. With your fingers, you need to climb into the inside of the double triangle. Pressing with one of your fingers, you should pull the top layer of the paper up - to the top.
  19. Now you need to fold the sharp toes of black boots with folds inward. The boots must be fitted to the trousers. If the latter do not fit, they must be made a little narrower, tucking the side sections.
  20. A square is cut from the remaining paper strip. A triangle of beige paper is glued to it. Next, the parts are folded, as shown in the diagram.
  21. The product is turned over. The corners are tucked down.
  22. Bends up on the cap. After that, the edges are wrapped along the formed folds inward.
  23. Ears are formed from paper corners. They are bent to the center of the head part.
  24. Now these parts are folded to the other side, forming a fold. Next, a small corner is folded at the very edge. The neck is made in the same way.
  25. The part is turned over. The left and right valves are laid out with your fingers.
  26. At the final stage, you need to draw the face of a soldier, glue the head and boots, glue those parts that bristle. You can add decorative components: shoulder straps, medals, stars, and so on.

This is a relatively simple and straightforward master class, according to which even the youngest master can assemble an origami soldier. The finished product can be a spectacular decoration for a homemade holiday card for February 23rd.

How to make modular origami?

The volumetric figures assembled using the modular origami technique are very original and beautiful. Such designs are more complicated than the classic options. Children aged 5-6 years can also work on such crafts, but adults should help them, since the volume of work will be quite large.

  • To assemble the "Soldier" figure, 250 modules of green, white, light green and black colors must be made in advance. The assembly of the structure must be started from the head. You will need green and white (or cream) modules for it. Modular components are inserted into each other. First, a row of green elements is assembled, and after that cream modules will be attached to them.
  • In the next step, you can start modeling the boots of a soldier using black details.... First, 3 black components are fastened, and on the next row, only 2 modules of the same color are installed. The next row is 3 more black modules. After that, you need to start assembling the legs of the paper soldier.
  • Now you need to make craft hands using beige and green modules... When the head, arms and legs of the paper soldier are ready, you can safely proceed to modeling the torso. This part of the modular craft is the hardest part to make. For this, circuits consisting of green and light green modules are compiled and connected to each other in order.
  • When all the main components of the modular figure are ready, they will need to be fastened into a single structure.... For a more secure attachment, you can coat paper parts with glue stick.

In order for the overall picture of such a craft to look neat and attractive, the master must definitely act step by step and without unnecessary haste. Of course, you can make your own adjustments, use details of other colors.
