In the origami technique, you can make a great variety of different crafts. It can be not only beautiful animals and birds, but also figures in the form of a house. Such things can be easily modeled by origamists of all ages. In today's article we will find out how you can correctly fold a paper house using the origami technique.

Basic variant

Origamists with any experience and skills can make beautiful and neat paper crafts. If the master is still not familiar with the popular technique, it is advisable to master it, starting with simpler schemes. At first, it makes sense to make simple figures of houses that do not have a lot of small details.

The basic version of an origami figure in the form of a house is assembled in just a few minutes. Even a small child of 5-6 years old can easily cope with carrying out such creative work. We will learn how you can quickly and easily fold a flat paper house using the origami technique.

  • To carry out all the work, you will first need to prepare a square sheet of paper. Its color can be absolutely anything.
  • The prepared square will need to be folded across. This should be done from top to bottom.
  • The formed rectangle will need to be folded across in half, and then expanded.
  • In the next step, the side halves of the paper blank will need to be folded towards the middle.
  • Now, at the top of the structure, you will need to open and straighten the folds on both sides. At this stage, a simple house-shaped figurine will be almost ready.
  • At the final stage, the master only needs to decorate the paper house with windows and doors.

These components on the craft can be drawn with a felt-tip / marker or pasted on.

Folding a voluminous house

Beginning origami masters can model not only the simplest and flattest, but also three-dimensional paper figures with their own hands. To make such attractive origami crafts, you need a square piece of paper measuring 15x15 cm. You also need to prepare glue and scissors.

Consider the step-by-step instructions for assembling a volumetric paper house.

  • At the first stage, you will need to fold a square piece of paper in half and then open it.
  • To the line located in the center, it is necessary to bend the upper and lower halves of the workpiece.
  • Further, the product will need to be opened.
  • The leaf must be rotated 180 degrees, and then duplicate steps 1-3.
  • Using a marker, you will need to mark the lines along which you need to make cuts.
  • After that, using scissors along the outlined lines, you need to make small cuts.
  • The lower elements located in the center must be connected, and then glued on both sides.
  • Next, the workpiece is turned over so that the right angle is directed upwards. The remaining components of the paper structure will need to be glued so that the figure of the house can stand evenly and steadily.
  • Now we need to cut out a rectangular piece of a different color. It is glued on top - this is the roof of the house.
  • To complement the craft with windows and doors, you should make small applications.

In the resulting house, you can cut out the windows, and then put the LED light inside. The result is a very original DIY night light.

How to make a modular model?

Origami modular crafts are harder to assemble than the classic ones. Such products look much more interesting and brighter, but they take longer to manufacture. The assembly of structures is carried out from pre-stacked modular components, which ultimately form a single figure.

Let us examine in detail the scheme for modeling a modular house from paper components of a triangular shape.

  • The side wall of the future self-made house will need to be assembled according to the 15-14-15-14 scheme. The starting 4 rows of the structure should be laid out with blue modules, and 2 subsequent crowns - with orange modular elements.
  • In the 7th row of the structure, it will be necessary to insert 7 white modules.
  • Then you need to insert 2 blue elements between the white details. The assembly must be continued in accordance with the diagram.
  • In the same way, you will need to assemble the second side wall of the modular house.
  • After that, you can proceed to modeling the end wall. The pediment should be formed from blue modules. Starting from the 18th row, it is necessary to decrease each of the rims by 1 module.
  • Similarly, you need to model the second end wall of the house. After that, the finished parts will need to be combined into one structure.
  • The roof of the house must be assembled from modules of white color. This should be done according to the 25-24-2-24 scheme. One part will be made up of 14 rows, and in total 2 parts should be modeled.
  • After that, the roof will need to be connected to the house into a single structure.

The finished craft can be used as an original dollhouse or simple home decoration. For the manufacture of such a modular house, you can use components of a variety of colors, which will be more pleasing to the origamist.

More ideas

Original paper structures in the form of houses can be assembled in accordance with other schemes of different levels of complexity. For example, these may not be standard, but round fairy-tale houses. To model such interesting crafts using the origami technique, you will need:

  • cardboard;
  • glue;
  • scissors.

Let's take a look at the step-by-step instructions for assembling such creative origami figures.

  • First you need to draw a large rectangle and cut it out. This detail will serve as the basis on which the outlines of windows and doors will be further applied.
  • By twisting, you need to very carefully form the walls of a rounded structure. After that, they will definitely need to be fixed with glue, otherwise the whole structure can easily bloom.
  • The roof of the original fairytale house will have to have a cone-shaped structure. To make this detail look more attractive and elegant, it is advisable to supplement it with various decorative elements. For example, you can recreate the imitation of snow from cotton wool, fixed with a small amount of glue.

Especially for young origamists, a lot of extremely simple and affordable schemes for modeling paper houses have been developed. Consider one of the options for making such crafts.

  • You need to prepare a single-sided, square-shaped paper. Its size does not play a special role.
  • Place the paper in front of you. Next, you need to fold it in half. The colored part of the paper should be on the outside.
  • At the next stage, the workpiece will need to be folded in half again, but at the same time it will be necessary to connect the other two sides together.
  • Now the paper blank needs to be opened. In its middle there should be two intersecting folds.
  • Next, you will need to bend the top of the product up to a horizontal bend.
  • The next step is to turn the workpiece over to the other side. The right side of the product will need to be aligned with the vertical fold in the center area.
  • After that, you need to bend the left side.
  • The corners located at the top must be carefully directed downward.
  • The workpiece is turned over to the other side. At the bottom of the product, you need to form a small upward fold.
  • Now this fold must be opened.
  • The folded corners will need to be redirected inward. The formed trapezoidal component will need to be bent up again. Due to the fact that single-sided paper is used for assembling origami, the doors of the house will be obtained from below.
  • In the end, all that remains is to draw the windows. A simple but cute craft is ready!

There is another simple scheme in which the construction of the house is complemented by a pipe. Let's consider it in detail.

  • As in the previous case, you will need square paper. The color can be absolutely any - it all depends on the wishes of the young origamist.
  • The paper is folded in half. Then it is opened and re-folded, but already connecting all the other sides. As a result, intersecting folds will form.
  • The upper part of the workpiece must be bent to the fold line.
  • The product is turned over to the other side, after which the side sections are folded up to the fold in the center.
  • At the next stage, you will need to direct the corners that are at the top of the craft down.
  • Now you can move on to modeling the pipe of the paper house. For these purposes, you will first need to straighten the corner located on the left side.
  • This corner must be turned from the inside, and then gently pulled down. In this case, the outer fold must be redirected inward.
  • Further, this element of the paper structure will need to be straightened, pointing up.
  • The pipe should be carefully opened from the inside. As a result, a corner will be formed. Its right side must be moved to the left, parallel pressing the corner to the bottom. After that, the pipe of the paper house will be made.
  • Now you should bend the lower half of the house upward, while smoothing the edges along the lower half of the roof.
  • After that, the paper house will need to be turned over. Windows and a door should be drawn on it using a felt-tip pen or marker.

An interesting craft can be additionally decorated with other decorative components that a young origamist will want to use.
