How to make origami in the shape of a crown?
Making various origami crafts is a fun activity that can be suitable for both children and adults. Origami allows you to make decorative paper products with your own hands without glue and scissors. Today we will talk about how to make a crown.
Classic version
To begin with, we will analyze a simple classic scheme for creating a crown using the origami technique. It includes the following steps.
- At the initial stage, it is necessary to prepare 12 paper blanks of the same size. They should be square. You can take any color.
- Next, each prepared sheet is carefully folded along a diagonal strip. All fold lines must be ironed carefully.
- After that, the parts are turned back. At the same time, the tips are folded towards the middle of the workpieces.
- Then the tail is also bent to the center, later it is pushed back a little.
- The resulting parts are wrapped inward.
- When all 12 blanks are ready, they begin to be connected to each other. For this, one tooth is inserted into the formed grooves. It is recommended to additionally fix the elements with a stapler. But it is better to do it from the reverse side, so as not to spoil the appearance of the craft.
- When all the teeth are fastened into a single ring, the ends of the product are fastened into one craft. The paper crown is ready, you can decorate it.
Let's consider another simple option.
- Square blanks are cut from A4 sheet. In this case, it is better to cut the material in such a size that the finished crown could be put on the head. You can take any color. Sometimes single-sided paper is used.
- The sheet is turned with the colored side down.It is carefully folded in half twice, so that the resulting square is four times smaller than the original. Then the sheet unfolds back. In this case, fold lines are outlined. The top left and right corners are folded towards the middle. The edge is bent upwards from below, while it should touch the line in the center.
- After that, the resulting triangle is wrapped up again along the horizontal line in the center. Thus, a detail of the future crown is obtained. In total, five such elements will need to be made.
- When all the component parts are prepared, they are turned over and fastened together.
- Two elements are placed in front of them. The rectangular piece of the first blank is inserted neatly into the rectangular section on the left side. In a similar way, all the blanks are assembled into one closed craft in the form of a crown. By moving the individual parts, you can adjust the size of the product.

- A square sheet of paper (most often pink material is taken) is folded in half along the diagonal line. Then the workpiece is turned back. All folds can be ironed with scissor handles to make them as clear and visible as possible.
- Next, the corners of the product are folded to the middle, the material is turned over to the other side.
- The left side is bent closer to the center, while the triangle that is adjacent to it is released.
- Then the passed actions are carried out with the right side.
- The protruding corners at the top and bottom fold closer to the middle. The corners are tucked a little under the first paper layer of the product.
- Later, the resulting figure is revealed - a craft in the form of a crown is obtained.
You can make a small crown-shaped craft out of one-sided golden paper.
- You need to take a square sheet of paper. Most often, such a blank is cut from an A4 sheet; it will also be convenient to use material that is specially designed for origami. It is rolled up and down and then unfolded.
- The top sides fold up towards the middle. The lower section is also folded towards the center.
- The lower part folds up again. The resulting paper figure is folded in half and then gently unfolded.
- In total, you need to make five such details for the future crown.
- All the resulting blanks begin to gently alternately insert into each other, so that the end result is a vicious circle.
If desired, the finished crown can be decorated with various decorative elements. They are often also cut out of colored paper or cardboard.
Making a craft in the form of a box
It is worth considering a more complex option for making a paper crown in the form of a box.
- A square blank is also prepared first. It is bent in half, and then the folded parts are unbent. In this case, you need to iron all the excesses well. Next, make a standard "pancake" origami shape. To do this, you need to connect all four corners to the middle. The resulting product is turned over. The bottom of the workpiece is folded towards the center strip. The resulting triangular valve is carefully straightened. Then all the steps taken are repeated again with the upper part.
- The triangle at the bottom is raised. The right corner is folded inward. Do the same with the left corner. The triangular valve is lowered into place. The upper part of the product is also lowered. The corners are bent again. The material rises and turns 90 degrees.
- Further, the triangles are gradually pushed apart. The cover is turned upside down, leveled, it needs to be given more precise geometric outlines. All four triangles rise upward, thus forming the teeth of the future crown.
- Later, they begin to create the lower part of the box. To do this, you can use a small box pasted over with paper. At the final stage, you can decorate the finished craft.
This option is also easy for children.

In this case, it is necessary to perform the following steps step by step.
- Several square paper blanks should be prepared. Modules will be made of them.
- A square sheet is folded in width, and then immediately unfolds. All fold lines are well ironed.
- After that, the material is folded in the same way in the other direction, while making a notch.
- Further, the corners from above need to be reduced to the middle. Do the same with the rest of the prepared squares.
- The lower part of each such module is bent horizontally to the axis.
- After the second turn is done.
- Each of the modules will need to be bent so that the left and right sides are located at an angle of 90 degrees.
- You can make two of these parts with different patterns or colors.
- Two modules are taken. They need to be placed facing you.
- One of them gently opens down, the second element is inserted into it to the middle and closes back.
- These paper blanks are held together. Further, other prepared modules are also fixed until a closed ring is formed.
- At the final stage, it is better to decorate the finished paper crown.
Such a scheme can also be suitable for children, the creation of this modular crown will not take too long.
