Folding crafts using the origami technique is not difficult, even a child can cope with this task. This will not only help him develop imagination, but also contribute to the development of fine motor skills.

To create such figures, you just need to follow the instructions. In this article, we will tell you in detail how to make a daffodil using the origami technique with your own hands.

Diagram of folding a daffodil made of colored paper

This master class will be an easy task for preschool children. To create a craft, you just need to follow the step-by-step instructions and stock up on the necessary materials, namely scissors, colored paper, a simple pencil, a skewer and glue.

  • First you need to draw a piece of paper into 6 identical squares so, so that their sides are 6 centimeters - you can do this with a pencil and a ruler. Further, all these squares need to be cut out, it is from them that the petals of the flower will form.
  • Now you need to take one of the squares and fold it in half, carefully ironing the fold line. It turns out an isosceles triangle, the side corners of which should be bent to the opening side, that is, to the top. After that, the folded corners must be flattened as shown in the photo. The tops of the flattened triangles must be bent inward. You will get small triangles, which also need to be bent in half inward. One petal is ready!
  • Following the same instructions, you will need to make six petals. Further, having formed the middle from colored paper, they need to be attached to a skewer, which should be wrapped in green threads in advance or pasted over with green paper. The flower is ready!

In this way, you can form a whole bouquet with your own hands and present it as a pleasant gift for any holiday.

How to make a modular flower?

A modular origami daffodil will be a little more difficult to make.

  • For one daffodil flower, you will need to make 16 triangular modules, which are made up of rectangular strips of colored paper measuring 6 by 4 centimeters. The workflow is quite simple: the rectangle must be folded in half and again in half, carefully ironing the fold lines. Next, the edges of the rectangle must be folded towards the center. Now turn the workpiece over and bend its lower part up. After that, we fold the corners, bending them through a large triangle, and then unbend the corners and the lower part. Now we fold the corners again, as shown in the picture, raise the lower part up and fold the workpiece in half. One module is ready!
  • Having made the required number of such parts, you can proceed to the assembly of the flower. First you need to take three parts and fasten them to each other as shown in the figure. You need to do the same with the rest of the modules: as a result, you should get a flower bud, consisting of 2 rows of 8 modules each.
  • Now you need to form the flower center. For this, take a strip of colored paper and cut it, making it seem like a fringe, without cutting through the paper to the end. Further, this part is twisted into a tube, and its end is fixed with glue. Please note that the middle should be voluminous, and therefore do not seek to tighten it strongly. Insert the part into the bud of the modules and fix it all on a pre-prepared skewer or tube, having well coated it with PVA glue or a glue gun. The craft is ready!

Other nice ideas

There are other options for creating a daffodil flower using the origami technique. Such a flower is made from the same materials as the others, however, it is based not on a standard rectangle or square, but on a hexagon.

The progress of work on such a craft is quite simple.

  • First you need to collapse the rectangle diagonally, expand and collapse again, but already in the opposite direction and so several times, as shown in the figure with a dotted line - this is necessary in order to outline the folds. After that, we fold the workpiece so that the blue dotted line is in the upper part, and the red one is in the inner part. Now we fold both sides of the figure to the planned center line, again marking the folds, unfold it back and fold these sides along the folds inward.
  • Next, flip the top layer of the right side to the left and fold it inward.... Now you need to flip the two layers from the left side to the right and fold them inward, as shown in the picture. Flip the top left layer to the right side and fold it inward, then unfold the right layers to the left.
  • Next, fold the layer of the right side inward and flip it over to the left side., then we add the final layer of the right side.
  • Now we make the folds as shown by the dotted line in the figure, folding the workpiece. Have you should be left with a layer that will need to be turned over and repeat all the same actions as in the previous step. Turn the workpiece over to the other side and wrap the corner as shown in the image, then carefully open the center of the model, draw a rounded fold using the outlined fold lines and make the edges of the flower.
  • Lay the workpiece sideways to you and carefully unfold the two petals in the direction of the arrows shown in the figure. Be careful not to tear the paper. Do the same with the remaining petals.
  • Next, fold the blank as shown in the figure to form another fold. - this must be done with all the petals. Expand the workpiece to face you and bend the corners of the petals to the center.
  • We turn the workpiece towards us with the back part and curl the petals... After that, you need to tighten the bud as shown in the figure, in the direction against the clock hand.

To make the flower convex from the outside, insert a pencil or a non-sharp stick from the back of it.
