How to make origami in the shape of a Pikachu?
Origami "Pikachu" in the form of a charming Pokemon delights children and adolescents, and even a person without special skills or great experience can cope with folding the craft. The diagram for beginners explains in detail how to make a paper figurine in stages. A detailed review will help you better understand how to create a modular and other origami for children in the form of a bright yellow character of your favorite cartoon.
Simple origami diagram
For beginner needlewomen, it is better to choose paper origami options that do not require gluing. With children, it is easier to make such bright toys according to ready-made schemes, simply by printing them on a printer. Schoolchildren can do the job quite well without supporting materials. It is enough to follow the instructions step by step.
A simple figurine in the shape of a Pikachu head is made of bright yellow paper, completing the necessary details with black and red felt-tip pens and paints. In some cases, the muzzle is decorated with appliqués. A simple step-by-step diagram will help even a child to cope with creating a craft.
- Take a sheet of A4 colored paper. Turn a rectangle into a square by folding it diagonally from one corner, and then cutting off the excess.
- Place the workpiece with the colored side facing the table surface. Fold it in half vertically, then unbend it.
- Create a diagonal fold line. The workpiece should look like a pyramid. Place it with the top away from you.
- Bend the corner of the pyramid towards its base. You will get a trapezoidal shape.
- The side corners are folded up... You need to fold them so that the lines coincide with the contour of the trapezoid. In this case, a minimum gap remains between the corners. Their edges are once again tucked outward from the center so that "ears" appear at the workpiece. They are asymmetrically bent, the angle can be chosen arbitrarily (based on the mood of the figure, the expression of its muzzle).
- At the base of the figure, the remaining elements are folded. The corners are removed inward so that the head of Pokémon Pikachu takes on the desired shape.
- The resulting hexagonal blank with protruding sides the ears are turned over to the front side.
With the help of markers or paints, the muzzle is drawn. The nose, eyes and contours of the mouth are made black, as are the edges of the ears. The mouth and cheeks are painted in red-orange shades.
The resulting craft "Pikachu" can be used as a bookmark for books, and by collecting several of these elements in a row, it is easy to make a bright garland. Also, the faces of Pokémon can decorate straws for cocktails or a festive table at a themed party.
The craft can be complicated by adding a body to it. In this case, the head is made according to the instructions, set aside. Then the same square is taken from a sheet of yellow paper.
- Fold it in half vertically... Repeat the action from right to left.
- You will get a square workpiece. A finger is wound under its upper part. The workpiece moves to the right, then it is pressed - you should get a voluminous triangle-pocket.
- Turn the craft over. Repeat the action, but with the formation of the triangle on the left.
- For a double figure, fold the corners of the top layer inward, towards the center... Turn the workpiece over, repeat this step on the wrong side.
- Fix the head on the finished torso. Due to the curved corners, the figure will turn out to be stable.
The head and body craft can be turned into a greeting card. It is enough to write a message on the pokemon's chest. It's nice to receive such cute notes for no reason at all.
How to make Pikachu from modules?
Modular origami on A4 sheets requires more painstaking work. Glue is often used here - it is better to take ordinary stationery, and not PVA, in order to avoid deformation of the product. Even an easy origami from modules will require careful preliminary preparation. The work process is described step by step further.
- Creation of stub modules... You will need black, pink and yellow paper.
- Making the base. It will need 28 yellow modules. By folding them in 2 rows and securing them, you can close the ring.
- Then lay out rows 3 through 11, forming the body of the Pokemon.
- Creation of the base of the head. The number of modules increases by 2. There will be 30 of them in total. The elements are connected along the short side. 12 and 13 rows are made according to this pattern.
- On the 14th circle, the order changes. The diagram includes 2 pink modules, located after 7 yellow ones. These will be the cheeks. The rest of the elements are laid out from yellow paper, a total of 29 elements.
- In the 15th row, pink blocks are inserted 2 through 6 yellow ones. The total number of modules does not change. Row 16 is performed in the same way.
- Circles 17 through 21 continue to form the head in solid yellow... The number of elements gradually decreases towards the crown. The body of the Pokemon is ready.
- The formation of the ears. 9 rows of yellow, 4 elements each. Then 3 blocks of black modules with a gradual doubling of the number of blocks in the line. The blanks are fixed on the figurine with hot glue.
- Making feet... Each consists of 3 modules. Fastening to the body is done with hot melt glue.
The figurine will remain to be decorated with eyes cut out of colored paper, a nose and a smile. The funny pokemon is ready to use.
Other interesting ideas
Once you have mastered the simple basic origami options, you can create new crafts that are more complex than bookmarks or flat figures. An interesting solution would be to make an "inflatable" version of the popular Pokemon. A volumetric model resembling a cube will look interesting and unusual. It is folded from double-sided yellow colored paper.
A pre-rectangular workpiece will have to be turned into a square.
Then you should act according to the scheme.
- Fold the workpiece horizontally. Then unfold, carefully ironing the fold line.
- Bend the square again, this time along both horizontal lines. Straighten.
- Along the resulting diagonal lines, fold the workpiece so that the parts between the corners are tucked in. You should get a three-dimensional triangle.
- Fold both parts of the resulting figure in half. Then unfold to obtain a vertical axis.
- On the front of the shape, wrap the corners towards the top, creating a rhombus. Bend its lateral parts towards the center.
- Turn the figurine over. Repeat steps.
- Expand the resulting triangular valve on one side. Place the right and left edges in the resulting pockets. The valves on the second side must be bent outward at an arbitrary angle. This will give the Pokemon ears.
- Blow air through the hole on the back of the figure. You need to continue until the moment, until you get a volumetric cube. The ears should rise on their own. If this does not happen, they are straightened by hand.
- Color in Pikachu's face and highlight the ears. The funny pokemon is ready.
Following the instructions, you can easily fold the volumetric Pikachu craft together with the children. Such a figurine looks much more interesting than its flat version.
In the next video, you will see the process of making a volumetric pikachu using the origami technique.
Bookmark corner
It is quite easy to create an unusual bookmark for Pikachu books from bright colored paper.
For it, you will need to cut out a square with a side length of 150 mm from colored paper. The workpiece is laid face down, bent diagonally in the form of a pyramid. Then it is enough to act step by step.
- Lay the resulting triangle with its top up.
- Sequentially raise the corners on the sides up. You will get a neat rhombus.
- Fold the upper part of the workpiece in half from top to bottom.
- Raise the left corner, fill it into the formed "pocket". Repeat for the right side of the craft.
The bookmark for books is almost ready. It remains to cut and glue the "ears" to its back, painting their tips in black. The face of a yellow Pokemon is drawn on the front side of the corner bookmark. The nose, eyes and smile should be black, cheeks - scarlet.
