Many kids love to spend time creating unusual paper crafts. A craft in the form of a tree, made in the oriental origami technique, will allow them to take a fresh look at such paper models. There are many simple options for making such crafts that are suitable for kids 4-5 years old. For children aged 6-7 years, you can choose more complex options. Adults will be happy to get involved in the workflow, making a voluminous bonsai tree.

Option for children

It is better for children to start their acquaintance with the world of origami not with complex structures, but with simple options. To make a simple craft, you only need a sheet of paper in the form of a square. It is better to choose green paper, a yellow sheet or another option is also suitable.

You can even take a piece of wallpaper or wrapping paper as a material.

To make origami in the form of a tree, you need to follow these steps.

  • Take a sheet of green paper of any size and cut a square out of it, then fold it diagonally in the form of a triangle. This will allow you to determine the middle of the workpiece. The square is wrapped so that the back, that is, not colored, side is on top.
  • Now you should unfold the sheet and turn it with a corner to the middle, doing it on one side and the other.
  • After that, you need to take the corners from above, pull them down, aligning along the edges, and smooth them well. Then turn the workpiece over to the other side.
  • Now you have to connect the upper and lower corners.
  • It remains to make a small fold on the corner and direct it down. Then you should bend down the corners along the edges of the part within the fold.
  • Then it is necessary to bend the right side located below. As a result, the corners will straighten and get a triangle. Do the same on the left side.
  • Next, the bottom tip is folded and the workpiece is turned over.

Preschoolers and elementary school students will be able to make such a simple craft.

How to make bonsai?

Bonsai is considered a special decoration of the interior. Using a simple and accessible scheme, even beginners will be able to make a bonsai tree out of paper using the chosen technique.

The master in his work will need a sheet of paper 21 * 21 cm in size brown, as well as sheets of the same size in green. Scissors and PVA glue are also useful.

Algorithm of actions.

  • You need to take a sheet of green paper, it will be used to create foliage... It needs to be folded twice, then do the same again and unfold. Then the same actions are repeated, but moving in a different direction. This will allow you to mark the blanks for future leaves.
  • The base must be cut along the indicated linesto make 16 small leaves.
  • Then folds are made along the dotted lines, do the same with the bottom of the workpiece.
  • Now they start working with the petals. To do this, turn the side corners inward and turn the sheet over.
  • Next, the leaf is crumpled, according to the directions in the form of arrows, this will allow them to give volume... In total, you will need to make about 100-150 leaves for the craft, that is, you need to use at least 8-10 sheets of paper.

When the work on creating the leaves is completed, they begin to create the trunk and branches for the future model.

  • Take a brown sheet and fold it. To make the craft look more aesthetically pleasing, it is recommended to choose double-sided paper.
  • Following the fold lines the square is cut into pieces.
  • The paper needs to be crumpled well, this will make the workpiece look like a real tree.... Next, the square needs to be straightened and folded in half. To keep the branches well in shape, you can use a thin wire as fixation.
  • The resulting strips are bent and twisted, giving a natural look.
  • After that, they begin to stick the leaves, this is done in a chaotic manner.
  • In the same way, you need to make 15 branches. It is better that they differ from each other in shape and number of leaves.

It remains to make the trunk. To create it, you need to take several sheets of plain paper and twist them, fixing them with tape. The wire placed inside will allow to give the trunk a certain shape. The result is a base rod, around which you need to wrap pre-crumpled brown colored paper. It is important to align the bottom edge well, giving stability to the craft.

Large branches with inserted wire should be wrapped with paper in the same way and bent to give them a natural look. Three such elements should be prepared. They are attached from different sides to the trunk, according to the figure.

Any box made using origami technique is suitable as a bonsai tree stand.

More ideas

Using the diagrams and following the instructions, you can make a lot of interesting crafts in the form of a tree with your own hands. It will not be difficult at all to create a branchy tree in the oriental technique from several separate elements.

  • To make a craft, you should take a thick sheet of paper in the form of a brown square, which will be used to create the trunk... You will also need smaller green squares. You need to prepare 5 identical elements.
  • After that, they begin to build the trunk.... For this, the cardboard is folded so that its sides are connected in the center. Then turn the part over and make 5 longitudinal cuts.
  • Next, you need to fold the sides and twist the cut strips so that so that they look like branches.

At this stage, the work with the brown leaf is finished, it's time to start creating branches, using green paper. You can also take any colored paper - this will allow you to make, for example, an autumn tree by choosing a yellow or orange color.

When creating leaves using the origami technique, you need:

  • take a sheet and fold it diagonally to determine the middle;
  • then open the workpiece and connect its side corners in the central part;
  • then the part is turned over to the other side.

It is necessary to finish other leaves in the same way. They are laid out on the ends of the branches and fixed with paper glue.

Gradually accustoming the child to creative work by making models using the origami technique, you can develop the child's perseverance, desire to achieve a goal, as well as fantasy and imagination.
