How to fold origami in the shape of a chicken?
Making crafts using the origami technique is considered an interesting hobby that allows you to make beautiful, bright and original products from paper materials with your own hands. Today we will talk about how to correctly make origami in the form of a chicken.
What is necessary?
Before you start making crafts, you should prepare everything you need for this. You will need the following items:
- paper (yellow, red, black);
- black marker or pencil (for drawing all contour lines);
- hole puncher.
Simple option
To make a craft in the form of a simple chicken yourself, you need to follow these steps.
- To begin with, small and equal-sized circles are cut out of black paper using a hole punch. They are chicken eyes. A small triangle is cut out of the red material.
- After that, a square blank is cut from the yellow sheet. It is then folded in half along the diagonal strip, and then all this is turned back.
- Later, the corner at the top is gently bent to the line in the center, not reaching the middle by about 1/3.
- The corner is wrapped in the opposite direction, while creating an inflection line.
- The paper blank is folded along the marked diagonal strip "valley".
- At the end, the left corner is folded up from the bottom, while marking the inflection line. After the resulting triangular figures are wrapped inward.
- Next, a red beak and black eyes are glued to the finished craft.
The considered option can be perfect for children and for those who have just started doing origami.
Assembling a modular model
Now we will take a closer look at a more complex step-by-step instruction for assembling a paper chicken from modules.
- It's best to prepare all the modules you need first. In total, you will need 350 yellow parts.
- Three elements are connected to each other, the two far modules will be located on the short side, and the near part will remain on the long side.
- All actions are repeated until five identical rows are obtained.
- After that, two rows of 20 yellow modules are assembled. The circle is closed, as a result, the zero and first rows are obtained.
- Then 20 elements are taken to create the second strip. They are connected to each other. The resulting circle is carefully turned in such a way that a workpiece is obtained that looks like a plate. The zero row will become the bottom.
- Rows 3 through 9 are also formed from 20 elements. In this case, the resulting product should be carefully folded so that an oval body of the chicken is obtained.
- After that, a 10th strip of 20 yellow parts is assembled, while the modules are placed with the sharp end inward, and with the straight end outward.
- Row number 11 is assembled from 20 parts, with sharp corners exposed outward, and straight - inward.
- Further strips from 12 to 16 are made from 20 modules.
- The seventeenth row will contain ten fewer elements. In this case, the details are put in one.
- To make one chicken wing, two yellow modules are taken, they are inserted into each other. The second wing is formed in the same way.
- The resulting wings are fixed on the lateral sides of the previously made body. Better to insert them in row 11.
- Next, a sheet of red paper is taken. From it you need to cut out the nose, scallop and chicken legs. This can be done using ready-made templates so that the products are as even and neat as possible.
- At the end, all cut out blanks are glued to the body. You can also glue plastic eyes.
If they are not there, then it is better to just cut them out of white and black paper.
If desired, you can separately make an egg shell from modules. To do this, collect four rows of 14 parts. Stripes 5-7 are already formed from 21 elements. To complete the lower part of the product and make an interesting effect of a broken shell, some additional white modules are added in the eighth row in random order.
To make the upper part of such a craft, you need to collect three rows, each one will consist of 8 white modules. After that, a fourth row of 16 parts is formed, each element being put on one pocket. Rows 5 to 8 are also made from 16 modules. The finished product is carefully turned inside out. Then the finished bulky yellow chicken is planted in the lower part of the shell. Then it is covered with the top.
You can also make a small tuft of yellow paper separately. For this, small thin strips of approximately the same size are cut out of it. They all fold into one bundle. The ends of the parts obtained are slightly bent around the circumference. It is better to glue all the elements right away. In this form, the finished tuft is glued to the paper chicken.
Master classes with modular schemes are better for those who already have the skills to create origami crafts.
