How to make origami animals out of paper?
From an early age, the attention of children is riveted to animals, so it is very important to maintain interest and form the right attitude towards them. This helps not only to love animals, but also to protect the nature in which they live.
Making kittens
Usually, the first acquaintance begins with pets, among which cats occupy a special place. They are easily recognizable and can be found in almost every home. Most origami crafts are based on a square made of colored, office or special paper. It will be enough to take a sheet of 15 by 15 cm, but it can be more or less - depending on the planned size of the finished figure.
It is easy to make a square from A4 sheet - just bend one of its corners to the opposite side, align the edges and cut the strip from the side.
Even small kindergarten pupils at the age of 4-5 years can make a small figure in the form of a playful kitten. It will be in two parts, and it’s better to start with the head.
-
We bend the sheet diagonally, unfold it and do the same with two other corners.
-
We bend the upper corner to the middle and the lower one by a third, focusing on the diagonal.
-
Then the upper half of the workpiece must be folded down, aligning the cuts.
-
Bend both upper corners down, joining in the middle.
-
Bend both corners up so that they protrude beyond the border of the fold at the same level.
-
Turn over, bend the corner of the triangle down.
-
Having supplemented the muzzle with eyes and a mustache, the first part can be considered finished.
Now you should start with the torso.
-
We wrap the adjacent sides towards the middle, aligning them diagonally.
-
We bend an acute angle to an obtuse one, and then to the side, getting a small oblique fold.
-
We attach the head (you can use glue or double-sided tape).
An unusually beautiful kitten can be made using the modular origami technique.
This will require 130 yellow and 200 orange modules. The principle of collecting such crafts is clear to children from 6 or 7 years old. But in order to do the required number of modules, at this age you will need the help of adults or comrades. The details of the figure will be assembled in a circle in a specific order, and there will be a total of 17 rows:
-
1 circle contains 20 orange modules, turned with the short side down;
-
in 2 and 3 the same parts, but worn with the long side down;
-
after that, the resulting circle must be bent so that a depression is obtained;
-
from 4 to 8 row we alternate 20 parts of yellow and orange colors;
-
at 9 and 10 there should be 20 orange each;
-
from 11 to 16, we again alternate the same number of yellow and orange;
-
in the 17th circle there are 10 yellow parts - they need to be worn through one part of the previous level.
It is important to make sure that the circles and the whole figure retain the desired shape.
We cut out ears, paws, tail and muzzle that are suitable in size, and then glue them to the resulting kitten.
Assembling the figures of mice
So that in adulthood children are not afraid of rodents, you can suggest making a small mouse.
For beginners, it is best to first master a simple step-by-step scheme.
-
We outline a diagonal on the sheet.
-
Expand, place it in front of us in the form of a rhombus.
-
Bend the right sides alternately to a diagonal fold.
-
Turn over, bend one narrow side parallel to the edge.
-
We bend the second side by the same distance.
-
Fold in half.
-
We wrap the upper corner down.
-
Fold the right corner to the right so that the fold falls in the middle of the bottom side. To prevent the tail from being straight, you can twist it with a pencil.
For schoolchildren 8 or 9 years old, it is better to select more complex schemes in order to develop existing skills. Another instruction for creating a funny mouse looks like this:
-
first you need to get the folds along each diagonal of the square;
-
then alternately fold the upper and lower left sides to the central fold, smoothing the folds well from the corner;
-
we repeat the same, but on the other hand, unfold;
-
along the resulting folds, fold the upper and lower parts, fold the protruding corners to the right;
-
bend both sides of the resulting triangle, aligning them with the middle line, and wrap them on the other side;
-
skip after the wrapped corners about the same distance that they occupy, and bend the remaining left corner to the opposite side;
-
turn over, add the lower vertices along a line from the center of the adjacent side to the right and left corners;
-
fold the workpiece in half, iron all the folds well;
-
bend the upper protruding corner to the left, open it and flatten it along the fold so that the ear of the future mouse is unfolded;
-
we repeat from the reverse side;
-
then we bend the right corner to the side, straighten and press it inward, and then in the opposite direction to make a fold;
-
bend the lower folds of the tail inward to make it thinner.
The muzzle can be supplemented with paper-cut eyes, a nose and a mustache, or you can draw them.
If you make mice out of colored paper, you get a whole company of rodents that you can play with your friends.
How to make an elephant?
Even an elephant from Africa can be made using the origami technique.
Despite its impressive shape, the scheme for creating a paper craft includes only 14 steps.
-
Fold the sheet in half from corner to corner and unfold, marking a line.
-
Fold two adjacent sides by a third towards the diagonal fold.
-
Fold the workpiece in half lengthwise.
-
Rotate the resulting triangle with the shortest side down.
-
Bend the upper (sharpest) corner, aligning its side with the bisector of the lower left (obtuse) corner.
-
Unscrew and unfold this angle, using your fingers from the inside.
-
Flatten it along the fold and carefully smooth everything - you get a head in the form of a slightly elongated rhombus.
-
Cut the lateral lower sides of the head of the future elephant shallowly in the middle and wrap it inward.
-
Bend the designated trunk back and forth, getting a fold, step back a little, and make another one.
-
Fold the remaining parts of the sides into folds. They should be shallow so that the ears protrude from the body.
-
Bend the right corner of the workpiece to the left twice.
-
Bend the same corner to the opposite side, forming another fold along the folds.
-
Cut a shallow rectangle in the middle of the bottom side of the workpiece. The elephant is ready.
If the origami instructions seem too complicated, you can use a larger sheet as a basis - this will make it easier to work with folds, but you will need to work out the folds in the corners more carefully.
What other animals can you add?
It is easy to make any animals out of paper that can be found near human habitation, in the forest thicket, in the deserts of hot countries or in the snows of the north.... There are many different origami options and detailed master classes for them. To quickly understand instructions of varying complexity, it is enough to learn the notation and diagrams of basic figures, from which more complex crafts begin. Thus, you can make a whole zoo with your own hands.
Home
Other “friends of man” - dogs - have gained no less popularity than cats.
In this regard, a preschooler or younger student can be offered to make a cute puppy:
-
the leaf must be folded in half along and then across;
-
bend the upper right corner to the center, repeat the same with the left corner;
-
and then turn them to the side folds;
-
wrap the lower side of the resulting triangle up, aligning along the side fold;
-
unfold, mark the beginning of the resulting fold, and bend the right corner to it;
-
we do the same on the other side;
-
raise this part, and knead the lower edge inward along the fold formed earlier (repeat on the right side of the workpiece);
-
turn the future figure over, bend the side corners to the midline;
-
wrap up the corners sticking out from below;
-
alternately bend the lower corners to the center of the workpiece, and put them in the pockets under them;
-
we wrap the upper corner on the opposite side;
-
fold in half and turn with the narrow side down;
-
bend the right side of the workpiece to the left along the line from the bottom corner to a small triangle;
-
we straighten the bent part from the inside and lower the upper part, forming a muzzle;
-
turn the elongated triangles at the bottom, each in opposite directions;
-
bend the left corner of the workpiece, unfold and turn it up in the form of a ponytail;
-
straighten the folds, and give the puppy a volumetric shape.
Another no less interesting animal is the turtle.
The toy made of paper is very similar to the original and is as close as possible to it in size. Step by step scheme:
-
bend the paper diagonally;
-
turn over, make approximate folds along and across;
-
pressing one of the diagonals inward, fold the sheet into a double square;
-
we wrap the adjacent sides of the first square to its diagonal, bend the upper corner;
-
unfold, straighten the top layer, and along the resulting lines add opposite corners to the inside of the first square;
-
iron all the folds well, turning one layer up;
-
cut the protruding corner with scissors along;
-
turn the separated halves in opposite directions - we get the front fins;
-
turn the ends of the forelimbs down;
-
bend the upper corner down and, stepping back a little, bend it up in the form of a fold;
-
bend the lower corners to the side and shift them slightly obliquely to make the rear fins;
-
wrap the side corners;
-
bend the bottom corner up, step back and bend it down so that a small fold is formed;
-
turn over, and admire the finished figurine.
In a similar way, not only land but also sea turtles are made.
Wild
Among forest animals, hares are especially popular. Since childhood, they can be found as heroes of fairy tales or cartoons.
It takes a little patience and attention to make a beautiful craft.
-
Fold a sheet of colored paper in half and open it. Bend one side to the resulting line.
-
Fold it in half again (across the folds). Tuck the top and bottom edges towards the center.
-
Bend the corners on the left side, aligning the sides along the midline. Then we unfold and pull down.
-
We wrap the left corner to the back side so that two corners stick out from the side - they will be the ears.
-
To make the ears thinner, bend the side to the midline. We iron all the folds well.
-
We wrap the corners to the right.
-
Bend the tip of the corner on the left side to the opposite side.
-
We fold the workpiece in half lengthwise so that the tip bent before this is inside.
-
We take by the ears and pull up, carefully iron the folds.
-
We push the right corner along the beveled line into the figure. To make it easier, this part can first be bent in both directions - this will create folds that will serve as guidelines.
To make the bunny look as believable as possible, you can peel back a small tail and add volume to the ears by rounding them from the inside with your fingers.
For a change, you can choose a more exotic version of the animal - for example, a penguin.
For it, add 1 orange, 45 white and 101 black modules. Detailed instructions will help you assemble all the parts in the correct order:
-
for 1 circle, you need to dial 7 parts in white and 5 in black;
-
in the 2nd there should be 6;
-
in the 3rd - 5 white and 7 black;
-
in the 4th - 4 and 8 (after installing them, the workpiece should be turned out by lifting the sides);
-
in the 5th - 3 and 9;
-
in the 6th - 2 and 9;
-
in the 7th circle, you need to turn the modules over, and put on 3 white parts and the same amount of black ones as in the previous one;
-
in the 8th - 4 and 8;
-
in the 9th - 5 and 7;
-
in the 10th - 4 and 8;
-
in 11th - 2 and 11, and 1 black must be placed between white;
-
in the last 12th circle there should be 12 black parts, which are best moved to the center as close as possible.
Two more black modules will serve as wings for the penguin, and an orange one can be glued instead of a beak. Additionally, eyes need to be cut out of paper.
