To acquire a stylish image, it is not necessary to completely repaint the hair and thereby significantly worsen their condition. It will be enough to lighten the ends of the hair or even two or three strands.

Peculiarities

Lightening hair only at the ends has numerous advantages. Coloring in most cases does not require prior elimination of yellowness or tone leveling procedures. Partial discoloration looks very stylish and is still trending today. This technique is used for hair of any length and almost any shade - both dark and light brown curls can acquire light ends. In addition, you can lighten your hair using different colors - both natural and extravagant like hot pink.

Lightening is carried out fairly quickly and does not require extensive use of paints. If the resulting hairstyle is not to your liking, it will be enough to simply cut off the ends of the hair, and after a while the hair will return to its original state. Finally, the procedure does not do much harm to the entire head of hair, since only a small part of the hair is exposed to chemical attack.

However, this procedure is still contraindicated for owners of split ends or weakened strands. Under the influence of chemicals, their condition will worsen even more. Still wanting to do this procedure, you first need to take care of restoring the hair.

Blondes are advised to choose amber and red colors, brown-haired women - giving lilac, and brunettes - various shades of red from purple to brown.Dark-haired young ladies are still recommended to pre-discolor the ends, after which they can start painting.

The transition between shades of hair should seem as natural as possible, so that the transitions are not noticeable. The paint should be applied to the strands from all sides so that each hair turns out to be sufficiently dyed. Wherein total processing time cannot exceed a quarter of an hour - otherwise the color will be uneven.

In addition, it should be remembered that the duration of the dye in the diluted state is limited to 40 minutes. If you do not use the remedy immediately, then the procedure itself will lose all meaning.

The lightened ends are best suited for those with short or medium hair, especially with a graduated haircut. Stylists do not particularly recommend doing this procedure on long straight strands, since the effect of untidiness and cheapness often occurs.

If the hair has already been dyed before, then it cannot be lightened without bleaching, and therefore a more traumatic procedure will be required. Blondes can even limit themselves to a tonic, which, despite its short duration, will still create the desired result.

Brunettes, brown-haired women and redheads will have to choose stronger remedies.

Technique types

The three main techniques for dyeing the ends of the hair are ombre, balayage and dip dye.

Ombre is considered the most famous technique, the essence of which is that the color harmoniously transitions from a basic dark shade to a light one in the area of the tips. In this case, two more colors are additionally used. The hair colored in this way looks very natural and lively - the color of the strand "plays" in the light and shimmers.

Balayazh similar to ombre, but the process of color change occurs from the middle of the hair, and not along its entire length. Additionally, several strands of the face are accentuated.

Dip dye popular with young girls, as this technique looks slightly careless and very bright. It looks as if the ends of the hair were simply dipped in dyes of different colors, without worrying about smooth transitions and adherence to the gradient. Shades are always taken flashy and non-standard.

How to prepare curls?

Preparation of hair for lightening begins in about a couple of months. It is at this moment that the use of nourishing and restorative masks without sulfate and harmful impurities begins, the use of natural oils and rinsing with herbal solutions. Such care will improve the condition of the strand so that they can survive the chemical attack. Thinning should be minimal or, at all, absent. Do not wash your hair for a couple of days before lightening.

As already mentioned, brunettes should consider the bleaching procedure.

Step-by-step instruction

Professional dyeing of the tips is quite expensive, so it makes sense to learn how to perform this procedure at home. To successfully carry out the procedure, it will be correct prepare in advance all the required materials and tools. The dye can be a ready-made paint or a dye powder together with an oxidant. The number of shades used is determined depending on the chosen technique. It is better to dilute the solution in a plastic container, and apply it with a brush or a comfortable sponge.

In addition, you will need a comb with rare teeth and a sharp end for easy separation of the strands, ordinary rubber bands and plastic clips, as well as foil. Protect your clothes with an unnecessary T-shirt or shirt, and your hands with disposable rubber gloves.

Making an ombre at home begins with the fact that all the hair is divided into three equal sections, which are fixed with elastic bands. First, the tips of the side parts are painted with paint, and then the middle part. The treated hairs are wrapped in foil and left for 30 minutes.Half an hour later, the hair is washed with a warm shower using shampoo. After drying the hairs a little, it is necessary to apply a small amount of dye in the transition zone to make the borders less clear. This time the paint lasts about 10 minutes and then rinses off in the same way.

In the second case, the treatment procedure begins with the fact that the hair at the roots is covered with a dark shade. Ten minutes later, the same composition is distributed to the middle of the hair. Finally, the ends of the hair are covered with a light shade and wrapped in foil. After withstanding the time specified in the instructions, the head should be rinsed using shampoo and balm.

The balayage technique is slightly different when used on medium length hair and short strands. Dyeing equally long hair begins with the fact that the entire head of hair is divided in half using a vertical parting. The paint is applied to the ends of the strand, which are then wrapped in foil.

As soon as the shade changes to light, it is recommended to immediately comb the hairs with a comb with rare teeth - this will make the transition between colors invisible. Then the foil is closed back, and the hair treatment continues until the end of the time specified in the instructions. The head is washed with shampoo and conditioner for colored curls.

Lightening hair with a graduated haircut is easier when the strands are gathered in a high ponytail, and their ends are on the same level. It would be good to protect the rest of the hair with foil or a bag to avoid paint drops. The ends of the curls in the tail are painted and wrapped in foil if desired.

After the time specified in the instructions, the hair is washed using shampoo and conditioner.

First of all, short strands should be combed so that the ends look up, and it is even better to fix them with varnish. Part of the paint used is applied to the foil, with which the hair is then processed. Instead of foil, you can use your fingers and apply paint directly to the desired places with them. After withstanding the required time, the head must be washed with shampoo and conditioner.

The dip dye is dyed in a similar way, but girls who only want to flaunt the bright ends for a few days can take advantage of a less traumatic method. For example, it will be enough to paint the strands with special crayons or colored powder.

Although the color will last until the first shampooing, using such methods is simple, which means that you can change shades at least every week.

The ends can be painted with food coloring of the required shade. For the procedure, you will need a white balm, a bowl with a brush, and the dye itself. A couple of bags of pigment and 100 grams of the product are mixed in a container, after which they are applied to the necessary areas of the hair and, if desired, are rolled into foil. After about half an hour, the paint can be removed.

Do not forget about the possibility of lightening hair with hydrogen peroxide in the case when you want to do without dye. It is allowed to use only a 3% agent, since stronger solutions will greatly harm the curls. For processing, you will need a container with a spray bottle, clamps, a comb, cotton pads, a towel to protect clothes, foil, shampoo and balm. Additionally, it is recommended to use protective goggles and gloves. Before starting work, the hair should be washed and dried with a towel, as well as untangled all the strands.

The container is filled with peroxide diluted with ordinary water in a 1 to 1 ratio. In the case when you only want to lighten a couple of strands, you can apply peroxide with a cotton pad. The brightening agent is applied to the hair and left on for 45 to 60 minutes. The exact time depends on what the original hair shade was, and what you want to get.

It is better to check it after half an hour, rinsing the strands and evaluating the result. If positive, you can wash the entire hair with shampoo and be sure to treat it with a balm or even a mask.

Peroxide does not always do the job right away, so in a day, the procedure will have to be repeated.

You can stimulate coloring with hot air, but this advice is only relevant for healthy hair. In addition, while the coloring is being carried out, it makes sense to go out into the sun in order to consolidate the effect.
