How to make an endless postcard?

An integral attribute of congratulations is a postcard. Colorful printing products are awarded not only for birthdays and anniversaries, but also for other holidays. There are classic and quirky postcards. It is in the second category that an endless postcard can be attributed. You can buy it in a store or make it yourself from colored cardboard.

An endless postcard is a kind of greeting and printing products. The peculiarity lies in the ability to open it an infinite number of times. Moreover, on each page, some kind of congratulation or picture is usually presented.

If we talk specifically about a homemade postcard of this type, then it is better to stop your choice on a square or rectangular shape, since they are the easiest to execute. But the color and congratulations depend solely on imagination and individual preferences.

It will take no more than 60 minutes to make an endless postcard at home. In order to facilitate the process, everything you need must be prepared in advance. This set includes office supplies, as well as some consumables:

1. two sheets of scrap paper measuring 15x15 cm;

2. glue stick;

3. scissors;

4. stickers with the theme of the holiday (you can do without them).

The scheme for making a postcard with your own hands is quite simple. The master class consists of several sequential and interrelated steps.

• Both sheets of prepared paper must be connected to each other and cut in half. The result should be 4 identical rectangles. Each of them must be bent in half lengthwise.

• By the beginning of the next stage, there should be 4 of the same blanks as shown in the figure. At a distance of 1/4 of the length, you need to mark on each side of the fold lines. Along them, you need to bend the sidewalls in the direction of the central part of each workpiece.

• Two rectangles must be placed with the wrong side up, and the outer upper squares must be carefully glue. This process is clearly shown in the figure.

• Now one half of workpiece No. 3 must be put on the two lower sheets and glued in place of the squares, as in the figure.

• The second part must be glued in the same way. However, the joints will be already at the bottom. The result of this stage of work is shown in the figure.

• Now you can move on to the decorative part. It all depends on the imagination, as well as the theme of the holiday. On each of the spreads, you can stick stickers, write congratulatory lines.

The final postcard should look something like the picture below. If a person does not have experience in the origami technique, then it is possible that the first postcard will not turn out as smooth as it was originally required. To get the desired result, you will have to practice several times.

In order for the made postcard to have a beautiful and presentable appearance, it is necessary to adopt useful recommendations.

1. In order to make the postcard more even, after gluing all the blanks, the irregularities can be cut off with scissors. Gaps of 1-2 mm will not play a special role.

2. In order to save scrap paper, you can practice on ordinary cardboard. And only then the so-called finishing version is made from the base material.

3. To glue the elements together, it is best to use a quality glue stick that does not leave lumps. The use of PVA glue is also unacceptable, as it can ruin the colorful side of the paper.

4. To make the folds clearer, it is recommended to use a special tool - a creasing machine. They can walk along the fold lines at each stage of the work.

There is one more important nuance. It is as follows: before giving a postcard, you should try to open it several times on all spreads. This is done in order to test the resulting product for strength. If you want to get an unusual option, then the blanks can be made from different paper. For example, two of them can be made of velvet colored sheets, and the other two are made of scrap paper. If everything is done efficiently and correctly, then such a postcard will be very durable.
