How to make do-it-yourself autumn cards?
It's nice to receive postcards on the autumn theme with or without reason. Depending on the level of difficulty, both adults and children can create them.
Simple paper options
A self-made autumn card will turn out to be a memorable surprise from a child for the birthday of relatives or friends.
Of course, only light master classes are worth choosing for children's creativity.
To implement one of them, you will need thick paper or cardboard, a dishwashing sponge, scissors, glue, paints and tape. You also need to prepare a square of cardboard with sides equal to 8 centimeters, a wooden stick and a stationery knife. To decorate the postcard, you will have to use dried twigs and petals, as well as fabric ribbons.
First of all, a bird is drawn on the cardboard square, which will be used to decorate the background. It is important that its image is clear and does not contain fine details.
The workpiece is cut along the contour with a cutter. This must be done with great care, since the rest of the cardboard will also be required in the future. A small fragment is cut out of a dishwashing sponge, which is then attached with tape to the end of the pencil. The cut out figurine of a bird is applied to the base for the postcard, and the space around it is painted over along the contour with a homemade brush. The leaf is filled with silhouettes of birds until it runs out of free space.
Areas that remain white between the birds are painted over by hand. Further, the outer part of the template is transformed into a stencil: a different paint color is taken, and more birds are drawn over the existing pattern. The finished postcard is decorated with inscriptions, ribbons and available natural materials.
It is very easy to decorate a product on the theme of "Autumn" with the help of stamps. For work in this case, landscape, corrugated and just colored paper, PVA glue, stamp paints and the stamps themselves in the form of leaflets are used. A sheet of white paper is folded in half lengthwise and slightly tinted at the edges with stamp paint. Next, a vase of the desired shape is cut out of the paper of the color you like. It is glued to the front of the postcard, after which the space above it is processed with stamps, thereby forming an armful of leaves. If desired, the free gaps in such a bouquet are filled with lumps of corrugated paper.
A postcard on the theme "Autumn has come" is created of paper: plain colored paper and cardboard. In addition to the main material, scissors, glue, a stationery knife, felt-tip pens, gouache and a brush are used in the work.
The creative process begins with folding a thick cardboard base. A rectangular window is cut in its left part, and the right one is sealed with a slightly larger blue rectangle. The trunks of birch trees, formed from white paper, are covered with black stripes.
Immediately, those elements are prepared with which the inner and front parts of the postcard will be decorated. They are allowed to be designed independently from colored paper, printed on a printer or cut out of a magazine. For example, it can be mushrooms, blades of grass, the trunk and crown of a large tree. Birches are glued to a blue background, complemented by a strip of grass below, the sun peeking out and a few mushrooms. On the obverse, the trunk and crown of a large tree are fixed, as well as a festive inscription.
If the barrel "enters" the window, then you should not completely coat it with glue.
Additional details are drawn with felt-tip pens and paints.
Made from natural materials
Children can make a beautiful postcard from the collected leaves on the theme "Golden Autumn" with their own hands. In addition to natural material taken in sufficient quantities, you will have to use paints with brushes and a plastic palette, album sheets, an adhesive pencil and scissors. First of all, a white A4 sheet is folded in half, and an oval hole is cut out in one of its halves. Colored leaves are laid out on one napkin, covered with another and gently ironed with a hot iron. The remaining solid half of the base is painted blue on the inside.
Next, with the help of glue, a composition of leaves in the form of an autumn forest is laid out on it, to which additional details are drawn, if necessary. It is important to place it in such a way that the main part of the image "looks out" into the oval hole.
Interesting work is also obtained with other natural materials. For example, for a simple master class you will need plasticine, pumpkin seeds, helicopter seeds and colored cardboard. Pumpkin seeds are painted with paints in different colors, after which flowers are collected from them. The elements are attached to the cardboard base using plasticine, which simultaneously forms the core. The stalks are collected from green plasticine, rolled up with flagella. The plasticine vase is decorated with helicopters.
How to do it using the scrapbooking technique?
When creating a beautiful volumetric postcard using the scrapbooking technique, the dried leaves can be used separately, or they can be assembled into a bouquet, complemented by lace, ribbons, burlap and other materials. Alternatively, to create greeting card for teachers day a scattering of beautiful autumn leaves of a small size is required.Beforehand, they should be dried in a book or ironed over white paper with an iron. In addition, you will have to use olive and yellow cardboard, some light paper for pastels or watercolors, regular and figured hole punches, an embossing stick with a round tip, a ruler, a cutter and scissors. You cannot do without Moment-Kristall glue, lamination bags, watercolor pencils or an orange stamp pad.
Olive cardboard is trimmed to form a postcard base: when folded, it should be 13 by 18 cm.A background for the composition will be created from yellow cardboard, so it is better to make its dimensions equal to 12 and 17 cm. It is recommended to laminate autumn leaves using special bags. Lamination is quite simple: dry materials are put in a bag and ironed through the paper at a minimum temperature. The finished parts are cut out along the glued part with nail scissors.
Yellow cardboard and light paper are tinted with watercolors or a stamp pad. From the latter, flowers resembling chamomile are cut with a hole punch. Additional volume is given to them with the embossing stick. On the reverse side of the background, the same stick can be used to draw a double strip along each edge, forming a frame. The laminated twig is laid out on the background and processed with a stamp pad to obtain a mask.
A backing for the inscription is prepared from the remains of yellow cardboard, and 0.8 mm wide strips and circles - centers for flowers are cut from olive-colored paper. Laminated leaves are glued to the background with a slight offset relative to the mask. Further, flowers, their centers, a backing and curls of olive stripes are attached to the postcard. The inscription "Happy Teacher's Day!" either neatly written on the backing, or pre-printed and glued on top of it. The composition assembled on a yellow sheet is fixed on the olive base of the postcard.
Unusual ideas
The combination of different techniques allows you to create works that are not ashamed to give even to an adult.
Pumpkin shape
An original postcard in the shape of a pumpkin can be presented on Halloween or just in honor of the beginning of autumn. From materials for creativity, you will need a sheet of thick cardboard or a special base for a postcard, scrapbooking paper, an orange cardstock, a transparent file, multi-colored beads, a button and a ribbon. You will also have to prepare glue, scissors and foam tape. The first step is to create a pumpkin shape from a piece of plain paper. To do this, a half of the fruit is drawn twice on a workpiece folded in half, one inside the other. After cutting, you should get a pumpkin-shaped frame.
At the next stage, it is outlined twice on cardstock - an especially dense type of paper, once as a frame, and another time only along the outer edge. The resulting parts are immediately cut out. The fixed form is transferred to an unnecessary transparent file and cut out along the outer edge. Orange blanks are tinted with a stamp pad. At the next stage, first a transparent file is glued to the orange frame on the inside, and pieces of foam tape are glued to it, which are tightly packed together.
The protective paper is removed, and glitter, beads, glitter and other tiny particles are poured over the file. Everything is covered with an orange pumpkin backdrop. As a result, you should get a shaker card, to which you just need to glue a brown cardboard tail. Optionally, the pumpkin figurine is attached to the base... To create the latter, a smaller rectangle of a different color is glued to a square sheet of scrap paper. On top of the smaller part, there is also a ribbon tied with a bow and fixed with a bead. All the details of the base are sewn on a typewriter, after which a pumpkin is glued to it and a congratulatory inscription is applied.
With leaf fall
An elegant postcard with a leaf fall can be called a great gift for any occasion. The base for the product can be cut from moderately thick paper with a subtle pattern. With the help of stamps and ink, the surface is decorated with the image of a lantern and tree branches. In the first case, black liquid dye is more suitable, and in the second, black and brown. The falling leaves are cut out according to the template with a special tool and painted over with a brush in yellow.
They are glued to the postcard with universal glue so that the plates overlap one another. The lower part of the image is coated with glue and sprinkled with colored sand and marble topping.
Upon completion, the card is lightly sprayed with acrylic paint, and the leaves are covered with glass and enamel drops.
