We make do-it-yourself cards for the City Day
Making DIY City Day cards is one of the most exciting things to do. A congratulatory volumetric postcard for a master class becomes almost the best option for such a holiday. That is why it is important to figure out how to make a postcard for the anniversary of Serpukhov, Smolensk and Bryansk (and it will not be so difficult to transfer this experience to postcard greetings in other cities).
Classic simple option
Do-it-yourself contests for making cards for City Day are held even in kindergartens. And in such cases it is hardly reasonable to create large compositions - it is better to do something lighter. For example, decorative fireworks or fireworks. Important: very young children should not be entrusted with such crafts. They are designed for at least 4-6 years of age; and all the same, some of the work will have to be done by parents or other adult helpers.
The sequence of work is as follows:
-
selection of pictures and photographs suitable for such a holiday;
-
placing them on the sheets of the created postcard;
-
printing;
-
lamination;
-
gluing pages;
-
decoration with colored decorative paper of different tones using a stapler;
-
sticking figures on double-sided tape;
-
decorating the flag of a city or region by them;
-
laying out the top of the postcard with suitable numbers;
-
decoration of the composition below with a variety of colors;
-
attachment inside the postcard photographs and suitable for the occasion (preferably composed independently) poems dedicated to the hometown.
Volumetric craft
Nobody has ever made a three-dimensional greeting card on the City Day. Samples dedicated specifically to the city holidays themselves, in principle, are absent, as well as ready-made master classes. Still, you can do something, even a rather unusual composition, starting from "volumetric" products with other subjects. So, on Valentine's Day and other personal holidays, templates are usually printed or redrawn that can be modified according to the theme. Each piece is cut out separately.
A three-dimensional postcard can be done differently. Sequence of steps:
-
fold a couple of sheets in half;
-
mark 8 segments on one sheet in the middle of the fold;
-
cut the product;
-
fold back the cut in the opposite direction;
-
4 multi-colored squares are cut out, differing in size;
-
fasten the ribbons to them vertically;
-
bows are tied;
-
fasten these bows;
-
make wavy edges on a site with a solemn inscription using curly scissors (the inscription should be dedicated to the city, of course);
-
glue the second sheet;
-
decorate the composition to your liking.
Ideas for different cities
General ideas and labels are still relatively boring and formulaic. It is very important to adapt the card to your special purpose. Specific urban plots can be:
-
main historical monuments;
-
architectural dominants;
-
iconic landscapes;
-
natural monuments;
-
city emblems and flags.
The creation of such items as coats of arms of small towns has not been worked out yet. But we can assume that the process in the case of Serpukhov looks like this:
-
take red paper (cardboard) or paint white material with red paint;
-
at the bottom, a thin black contour is drawn with a depression in the middle;
-
the round white "top of the egg" is cut out;
-
a blank of the "golden peacock" is made according to the template;
-
paint its plumage with small details, including green separated areas;
-
in the upper left corner, step by step, they draw the figure of George the Victorious, trampling the dragon.
With other cities, the situation is the same - drawings of coats of arms are publicly available, but the drawing technique is definitely not described anywhere. And yet you can try to depict, for example, the coat of arms of Smolensk.
To create it, you need to prepare and / or draw several ribbons:
-
2 Georgievsky;
-
1 gray complex shape with the inscription "glorified by the fortress";
-
2 of yellow and red stripes;
-
2 of red stripes of different colors.
On the left and right sides of the postcard, 2 stylized spears are drawn. They are topped with double-sided tassels on a lace. St. George's ribbons are placed (or drawn) so that they converge in the middle. Further:
-
add the ribbon "glorified by the fortress";
-
draw a large yellow five-pointed star in the very middle;
-
as if they are pulling out stripes of different tones from behind it, fold these stripes as if they support the ribbon "glorified by the fortress";
-
overlap the star with a cut or printed template of an old weapon with a gamayun bird sitting on it;
-
add a convex bottom to this template, if it was not done right away;
-
paint everything in suitable colors;
-
crown the star with a Monomakh cap (it is also made according to a template and painted);
-
print out microscopic banners to be added to the spears on top.
The coat of arms of Bryansk on a postcard is much easier to add. It is built according to the "French shield" scheme, that is, a rounded square with a lower ledge. The length of the bottom line is 8/9 of the total height. The upper part of the composition is deep red. It is separated from the green underside by a thin black line.
On the border on the left and right, 2 groups of yellow cannonballs of various sizes, collected in pyramids, are drawn. Precisely in the middle is an old cannon with a barrel raised up. Its base is hidden by a wooden box, which has a ledge on the right. Downward-pointing bright yellow arrows are drawn on the green field. There is no need to create any more details.
Regardless of the city in which the holiday is held, it is quite reasonable to supplement the postcard with not only its coat of arms, but also the Russian flag. It is very nice if it does not just hang, but as if it flies in the wind.They begin to transmit the movement by drawing a black wave below. Then, as symmetrically as possible, repeat it at the top and connect with a vertical strip. On the right, make another line and connect all the points; all that remains is to make 2 wavy horizontal dividers and color the composition.
