Making birthday cards from a child
DIY gifts are among the most enjoyable. This is especially true of those gifts, the creation of which the children were engaged in. In this article, we will consider what kind of cardboard greeting cards a child can make at the age of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 years old.
Simple drawn options
Drawn postcards are one of the easiest in terms of execution. Such a small present can be presented both for a birthday and for any other holiday.
To create such a postcard, you will need:
- thick drawing paper;
- watercolor, acrylic or gouache;
- colored pencils and markers.
Before you start drawing, it is advisable to make a rough sketch of what you want to portray. In this case, a detailed drawing is not needed here, it is enough to outline the main elements of the composition. This will help you to correctly place all objects in the drawing, to make the right accents. However, if a very small child, at the age of 2-4 years, makes a postcard, then you can do without a sketch.
After that, the drawing is applied to thick paper and painted. If you are painting with colored pencils, then it is advisable to trace the contours of the image with a marker after completing the work, so that they are clearer. If necessary, a variety of congratulatory inscriptions are added to the drawing, which must first be applied with a pencil, so as not to accidentally ruin the work. In addition, the card can be decorated with sequins, which are sold in a specialty store for creativity.
The craft is ready, all that remains is to sign it and present it as a gift.
There is another option for creating a postcard. For her, you need to select a drawing on the Internet, print, cut, glue it to thick cardboard and paint. This is not difficult to do. However, in order for the card to look original, you will have to work a little on its design. For example, you can diversify it with a paper frame, add stickers in the form of butterflies or beautiful flowers, which are sold in special stores, to it.
Original postcards made of paper
There are many options for creating beautiful baby greeting cards from paper and cardboard.
For example, you can make a voluminous postcard in the form of a birthday cake. This is not as laborious a task as it might seem at first glance. Even a preschooler can cope with it.
- To work, you need cardboard, colored paper, a simple pencil and glue.
- To begin with, we cut out wide strips of different lengths - these will be the cake cakes. We bend their edges a little, coat the bent part with glue, without affecting the rest.
- We glue the longest strip at the bottom, why the strip is smaller, and so on, the last strip should be the shortest.
- After that, we cut out the parts needed to create the holiday candles: the very base of the candle and the flame.
- We glue it all and, if necessary, cut out additional parts, which we also attach to the postcard. Completed work!
One of the options for making a volumetric postcard from paper is presented in the following video.
Postcards made of buttons look no less interesting. They are simple to execute and require only good imagination and developed imagination. So, to work on a present, you need a glue gun, cardboard, a marker and buttons of different colors and sizes. If desired, you can use other materials, for example, paints, decorative stickers, bright ribbons, threads, colored paper, and so on.
The workflow is quite simple.
- We arrange the buttons in the order you need, forming the pattern you need from them. The easiest way will be to fold balloons out of them: one button is one balloon.
- After that, we glue the buttons to the cardboard with a glue gun. Parental help may be required here, otherwise there is a risk of ruining the device or accidentally getting burned.
- We add a congratulatory inscription to the card, if desired we dilute it with additional elements. The postcard is ready!
You can also make a birthday card for children out of confetti. This will require a base material, cardboard and glue. The workflow here is simple: a picture is formed from confetti, after which all this is glued to the cardboard.
The main difficulty is not to accidentally fill the card with glue, otherwise the material will be damaged and everything will have to be redone.
Quilling postcards also look very interesting and beautiful. Even a child aged 5-7 years can cope with their creation.
For such a craft, you will need glue, paper, thin stripes and a toothpick. The stripes can be purchased from a specialty store, or you can cut them yourself, which will make the process of creating a card a little difficult. The toothpick can be replaced with a special device for twisting the strips.
Having found all the necessary materials, you can get to work.
- First you need to decide what will be shown on the postcard. If the drawing is complex, then it is advisable to mark it out with a simple pencil to make it easier to navigate. Otherwise, you can do without it.
- Gently twist the stripes with a toothpick or a special device, grease their edges with glue, pressing slightly so that the curl does not fall apart. If necessary, flatten it slightly around the edges with your fingers so that it takes on the required shape.
- We do the same with the rest of the strips. This work is quite painstaking, it requires perseverance and patience. Nevertheless, the result is worth it.
- Having made the required number of curls, we form a pattern from them and glue them. Everything! You can safely give the craft. Don't forget to sign it first.
