Today we will talk about how this element can be made and what is needed for this.

Peculiarities

A patchwork "well" is also often called a "hut". This fabric block is created from pieces of square-shaped material (sometimes a rectangular version is also used). They are produced in such a way that a mosaic-like image is obtained.

The fabric square is the main structural element of this type of block. It is placed in the middle and trimmed with the rest of the rags. Each strip that will be sewn after the center section is called a "log". Sometimes, while sewing, a "well" is made with an original diagonal color thread. V

in this case, there will be a small square in the central part, and the rest of the parts are lined up in the directions of the diagonals.

Materials and tools

To create a patchwork "well" in patchwork with your own hands, you will need the following required tools and materials.

  • Flaps. For this technique, various fabrics of variegated and bright colors are used, which allows you to create unusual and rich products.
  • Scheme. The most suitable block drawing can be found on the Internet and printed.
  • Rotary knife. With this tool, you can easily work with fabric, cut into pieces of the desired size. It's also best to use regular scissors.
  • Rug. All manufacturing work will be carried out on it. When carrying out such work, a large amount of small fabric debris is often formed, so it is better to immediately organize the work area so that later you do not collect leftovers and debris throughout the room.
  • Ruler. It will help you make all the pieces the same size.

Technique of execution

Even a beginner can make a "well" in patchwork. Currently, on the Internet, any user can see a huge number of different master classes, detailed schemes for sewing and assembling this main unit. First you need to prepare one fabric square, it will be located in the central part of the product. After that, you need to cut several strips from the same material. All dimensions of the elements must be indicated on the printed diagram. In accordance with it, all the "logs" are cut out. All patterns must be accurate.

The most interesting option in patchwork is the double "well" block. It consists of a small square in the middle, which is completely trimmed with rectangular fabric strips of different widths. When joining the resulting stripes to the main square, you should also be guided by the drawing. As a result, several strips of different lengths and widths should be made. They are attached in the order strictly indicated in the diagram.

As a rule, the longest rows are sewn on first.

They are trimmed, and then the entire block is carefully ironed as each new piece is attached. All of them need to be trimmed on a rubber mat. The elements are placed on a special substrate. For this, you can use paper, other fabric. Previously, it is necessary to apply markings on such a basis with a pencil. Following it, the details are precisely placed, and then sewn.

To create objects using the patchwork technique, you can use a variety of color combinations. But remember that in the end, after stitching the parts, you should get a bright and colorful product. The most effective models are obtained by alternating stripes of dark and light shades during work. When alternating, you should end up with a beautiful geometric pattern. Sewing of individual elements is most often done in a clockwise direction. At the final stages, the finished product is fully ironed again.

    Interesting ideas

Using the patchwork technique, you can independently make various bright objects for the home. Often, bedspreads are made according to such schemes. Such a product will look beautiful, consisting of squares and stripes in various dark colors in combination with a white fabric.

The base is done in white. Against such a background, a dark composition will look more effective, it will be well selected. Strips of the required size are also cut from such material. At the same time, when stitching, it will be possible to alternate between squares made using the patchwork technique and ordinary pieces of fabric in a checkerboard pattern, it is permissible to use patches with an ornament.

A small dark green square is placed in the center of each patch. All of them are sheathed around with strips prepared in advance. For their manufacture, it is better to use material of purple, lilac, light green, brown. You can also take variegated elements, but they should be sewn in a limited amount so that the overall design of the bedspread ultimately turns out to be bright, but harmonious and neat.

When stitching, you can connect individual squares so that large diamond-shaped images are obtained from the multi-colored part.

A carpet made using this technique will also look unusual. You can sew a product from fabrics in various shades of blue, light blue and using a white base. In this case, a large stitched circle, consisting of several rows, can be placed in the center of the carpet. The middle around is sheathed with squares "well".It is better to make many small elements, while the stripes are connected together in such a way that there is a smooth transition of colors from blue to blue.

The edges of such a carpet can be additionally decorated with an embroidered large pattern in the form of a plant ornament. But to create it, it is better to use the same colors as for the entire product, or other colors that will go well with them. Individual squares can also be connected together so that they form a separate large pattern.
