Sizes and shapes of shower trays

The sizes and shapes of shower trays can vary greatly. They affect both the functional parameters of such devices and their aesthetic properties. Let's get acquainted with what types of shower trays can be found in a store or in the manufacturer's catalog.

Or, in another terminology, high pallets. They can be 35-50 cm high. The higher the plane separating the inner tank from the outer floor covering, the less the risk of leakage. This is very important if the drain pipe is clogged. On high pallets, a recess (seat) is provided.

You can sit there as well as put soap accessories. For small children, you can arrange something like a small bath in a deep tray. However, young children themselves face inconveniences: without outside help, they are unlikely to be able to wash. And older people may have similar problems. Moreover, the podium must also be added to the height of the base itself in some cases.

Such designs are much nicer and more practical. It is more convenient to enter them - and, of course, it is more convenient to exit too. However, the likelihood of spilling water on the floor is also higher. You will have to carefully monitor the drain hole. This is especially important in the apartments of multi-storey buildings, the residents of which will be responsible for the flooding of the neighbors from below.

A kind of compromise is the mid-height shower tray. It protects well against leaks and is relatively comfortable to use. Even the most ordinary people will be able to climb there.

Pallet sizes can be both standard and unusual shapes and, accordingly, non-standard dimensions.

The individual sides of the pallet can be at least 70 cm long. Therefore the smallest permissible standard size - 70x70 cm or 700x700 mm. The largest size of serial production is 130x130 cm. Each manufacturer has its own characteristics. Models 70x70 cm are in the greatest demand, because they are the cheapest.

However, the problem is that such products leave almost no free space for washing. The typical solution is square, ergonomic pallets. They are appropriate for small bathrooms; they are placed in the corners and equipped with medium-sized shower enclosures. Most often, there are solutions based on light acrylic, which dampens extraneous sounds and looks good. In most models, the outlines will be:

• 80x80 cm or 800x800 mm;
• 90x90 cm or 900x900 mm;
• 100x100 cm or 1000x1000 mm.

Standard solutions can also be made in the form of a rectangle. Such pallets are also in demand. However, they take up more space than square counterparts, and will require a lot of free space around. But the rectangle is extremely restrained and adds external nobility. Usually rectangular trays are made of ceramic, which tolerates moisture and corrosive substances well.

Ceramic structures are mechanically strong and reliable. There will be almost no noise when water jets fall. Most often, rectangular pallets have a size:

• 120x80 cm or 1200x800 mm;
• 140x70 cm;
• 140x90 cm;
• 150x70 cm;
• 120x70 cm.

In some cases there are also pallets of atypical shape. This includes not only pentagonal designs with a rounded corner. Some of the modifications are completely made in the form of a circle, trapezoid, spiral and other geometric shapes. You can use them to reveal the most unusual aesthetic and design ideas. It should be borne in mind that a non-standard pallet is made mainly to order.

He can only help out in specific conditions. But for the decoration of premises with an unusual layout or with some complex nuances, it is difficult to find the best option. In terms of practicality, non-standard pallets are not inferior to standard designs. But outwardly they look much more attractive.

Some manufacturers are ready to order to make a pallet 60x60 cm... It will harmoniously fit into the small bathroom of the "Khrushchev" apartment. With a length of up to 70 cm, you will have to abandon the installation of seats and additional functional devices.

Many suppliers offer to such designs also glass railing of the same dimensions. The siphon can be placed in a corner, in the middle or near a short edge of the structure.

A prime example is model WasserKRAFT 15T07. With a thickness of 4 cm, this artificial stone product can withstand a load of up to 900 kg. The surface is painted in white gloss color; a siphon is included in the delivery set.

A good example of a 110x80 cm pallet is River 110 * 80 * 26. This model is made in our country and reaches a height of 26 cm. The right semicircular pallet looks very attractive almost anywhere. It is decorated in a full modern style. The traditional sanitary white paint is quite appropriate.

In the 110x90 cm category, the Radaway Doros acrylic block is a great example. This Polish rectangular product is in great demand on the market. In practical terms, it has proven itself rather on the positive side. The pallet height is only 6 cm, that is, it will be convenient to use it for both children and the elderly. The stone model RGW ST-119 has the same dimensions.

The 100x70 cm group includes a German stone pallet RGW ST-107. The height of the structure is only 3 cm, which is extremely convenient in everyday life. And the traditional quality of products from Germany allows almost no fear of flooding. Selected artificial stone is used for the manufacture of ST-107.

Angular the pallet is extremely popular both in the domestic market and abroad. It is easy to place it in the corner of the room. At the same time, space is saved compared to other models with the same interior area but different geometry. Some versions have the same side length, but this is not required. You can always choose an option with a rounded or slightly beveled corner.

Square the pallet is quite popular too. The demand for such a form is easy to explain: it is easy to put such a product in a corner or in any other place of your choice. Concerning rectangular versions, then the difficulties with installation and selection of a suitable place are regularly compensated for by the increased convenience of washing.

Before choosing a suitable structure, you need to properly measure the height of the ceiling. Individual pallets can be taller than 40 cm. If you take a shower cabin with a bathtub, then for it the same 40 cm is still the minimum bar in practice. Without considering this circumstance, you may find that the products have been purchased, but they do not enter the designated place. Moreover, sometimes only rare bathrooms of cottages and new-build apartments allow the use of one or another pallet.

The minimum dimensions that fit into the dimensional grid of asymmetric shower cabins are 75 cm in length and 170 cm in height. Only individual companies produce models with walls 70 cm long. But if there is a desire to put the shower cabin on your own, you need to focus on equilateral structures. They much less often require the participation of specialists in the installation process. When the sanitary unit already has a bathtub, which is not going to be abandoned, you need to use cabins, the height of which (together with the pallet) will be at least 240-250 cm.
