Making a jute doll will be a great pastime for parents and children. It should be added that for the implementation of the simplest master class, you will need materials that are already available in every household.

Materials and tools

There are several options for making jute dolls yourself. In the least laborious case, in addition to the twine itself, only yarn, glue, decorative braid and scissors are used. Burlap can be used to create a doll's outfit, and a cardboard cone or part of a plastic bottle can be used as a stand. In more complex workshops, a figurine is created on the basis of an old Barbie doll.

How to do it?

Making a jute doll with your own hands should start with the simplest master class for beginners. It all starts with the fact that a rope of medium thickness, held by your fingertips, is wound 40 times along the height of the book. Without releasing the skein, it must be cut from above. Next, the resulting piece is cut in half again and temporarily removed to the side.

In the next step, yarn suitable for the doll's hair is wound around the book in the same way. Approximately 50 turns should be obtained, although it is better to navigate by visual thickness.

The yarn is cut once in the same way as the jute, after which a small bundle is formed at the top of the resulting piece. Fragments of twine are distributed around the base of yarn, or rather, this bundle, and tied tightly. Having cut off the excess, the workpiece must be turned out and tied in such a way that a head is formed with a shock of hair from yarn. The doll's arms are created separately. Jute is wound in the same way around a book, cut twice and used to weave pigtails.

The body of the doll is divided into two parts, and hands-pigtails are pushed into the resulting opening. The bundle is tied with a rope to mark the waist and secure the arms. The finished doll is fixed on half of a plastic bottle or on a thick paper cone with glue. Clothes for the figurine are created from burlap, ribbons, braid and lace, twisted as you wish.

The step-by-step instructions for creating a twine figure based on a Barbie doll looks a little more complicated. In addition to the old toy, the master class will require jute twine, Moment-crystal glue, scissors and a special paper cutter, white cardboard, paper napkins, a glue gun and threads that are either one hundred percent viscose or one hundred percent cotton. Beads, buttons, beads, braid and ribbons are suitable for decorating the figurine. First, the head, legs and arms of the Barbie are cut off. The latter will still be needed in the future, but it will be necessary to remove the protrusions used to connect to the body.

A cone is glued from thick cardboard in such a way as to form a white skirt at the doll's waist. The bottom is shortened until the figure gains stability, and the bottom is closed with a cardboard circle. The body is coated with glue and wrapped in jute, starting from the neck.

It is important that the threads do not form gaps.

The hands are processed in a similar way, and the thread follows from the forearms.

The doll's head is made from a napkin twisted with a ball, which is first wrapped with ordinary threads to give the required shape, and then shaped with twine. On ready-made hands, flounce sleeves are made of lace, 5 centimeters long, which is pulled together with a thread, and then glued to the limbs. The beauty's sundress is created from braid glued with a hot gun. The head is fixed on the body in the same way, after which hair is formed from the threads folded several times, then shaped into a braid.

For beauty on the head, you can make a rim from the same braid as the dress.

Beautiful examples

Taking the same master class as a basis, but experimenting with the doll's hairstyles and outfits, you can get completely different figures. Alternatively, only one or two braids, a low bun, a kokoshnik, a "basket" hairstyle and even a hat can be formed from jute threads only. Miniature fabric flowers or thin strips of lace are used as hair ornaments. To imitate a dress on a jute doll, it is customary to emphasize the waist and shoulder line, as well as form several vertical stripes.

An accessory for such a figure can be a small handbag or a loaf made of twine.
