Jute vases look perfect in combination with dry lavender, dried eucalyptus or a bouquet of dried flowers. It is very convenient that at home you can create such vessels of any shape and size.

Description

It is possible to make jute vases on their own, without spending much effort or money, but the result is very nice decorative items. This environmentally friendly material is easy to work with, and therefore can be used to create not only vases, but also flower pots, toys, paintings and even dolls.

A big plus is that you can decorate a jute vessel with absolutely any decor available “in the bins”.

What are they?

A jute vase can be realized in any size, so at home it is possible to create both a floor structure for flowers and a miniature container for sweets. The shape and dimensions of the vessel vary depending on the base used - for example, a hemispherical cup is required for a candy bowl, and it is better to build a large jute container on the basis of some kind of plastic barrel.

By the way, I must say that jute vases can be created both by gluing the cord to the base, and by knitting with an ordinary crochet.

What can be made of?

In addition to the twine itself, to create a vase, either cardboard, a plastic bottle, or a container for drinking yogurt are usually used, acting as a base. Bottles are usually cut from the top and a roll is formed from the cardboard. From several balls, it is possible to construct an unusual rounded structure, suitable already for organizing a fruit bowl or candy bowl.

By the way, a fruit vase can be made simply from a straight thread wound around a frame made of wooden skewers.

A nice openwork vase is also obtained with the help of a balloon, which is deflated after the twine impregnated with glue dries. For the decoration of this design, flowers made of burlap are used.

Master class for beginners

There are a large number of do-it-yourself jute vase master classes, but it's better to start with some basic one, allowing you to get acquainted with the basic techniques.

Tools and materials

Jute threads are required to create a simple vase. It's good if the ropes are colored, but if you wish, you can paint them yourself. Besides, you should prepare PVA glue or Titan glue, scotch tape, scissors, a knitting needle and matches. Of paper, you will need a sheet of cardboard with sides of 20 and 26 centimeters, as well as a simple white A4 sheet. Finally, you will need a file, a pencil, a few paper clips, a tailor's meter, a paintbrush, and watercolors to work.

In principle, a container for paint and spreads of old newspapers can come in handy.

Step-by-step instruction

The work begins with the fact that a template is constructed from cardboard. The sheet is rolled up so that its height is 20 centimeters, and its edges are slightly glued and fixed with tape. Additionally, the roll can be secured with paper clips for a few minutes. Using old newspapers, candy box gaskets or a sealant, you can give the vase the desired shape. Next, a couple of flowers are drawn on the surface with a pen or pencil.

Taking pre-colored threads of some contrasting color and Titan glue, it is necessary to arrange the inflorescences properly. Next, with a jute cord of the already dominant shade, it is necessary to weave the vase itself, that is, to glue the material to its entire surface. The base must be lightly coated with glue, and the threads themselves must be arranged in dense rows. In those places where there are flowers on the surface, you just need to use smaller pieces of jute.

The bottom of the vase is first drawn on a white sheet, which is then inserted into a file and filled with jute with a "spiral". After about an hour, the jute bottoms can be removed from the file and glued to the vases.

You can decorate the finished vase with beads placed in the cores of the flowers. Additionally, you can make a few more inflorescences, which will add volume to the vessel.

Examples of crafts

Having learned how to create a simple vase from jute, you can create more complex designs on its basis. For example, it can be flowerpots or pots for indoor plants. The crocheted design lends itself easily to any needlewomen who own these tools. Simple "pipe" work with cardboard rolls at the base, decorated with volumetric elements, looks advantageous. Alternatively, a simple jute vase, the surface of which is decorated with several curls, is completely transformed by a large rose with a stem and leaves, made of the same twine.

The so-called royal vase is especially popular among needlewomen. The twine details are designed in such a way that they resemble the teeth of a crown “planted” on a vessel. Large rhinestones of a bright red hue are used to decorate them.
