Interesting ideas
With your own hands you can make a variety of plywood lamps... In addition, there are a large number of different drawings, which will help even a beginner to do this.
It is easy and independently to draw a diagram of the future product and follow it.
Table lamp
To make such a light source, first you need to prepare a place for work (workbench or table). It must be clean. After that, all the necessary materials and tools are laid out.
- You can immediately pick up an E14 base, an E14 LED lamp (it is better to take a spherical lamp), a switch and a plug. The hole for the plinth must be 28 mm. For the outer ring, it should be equal to 43 millimeters.
- It is better to choose plywood with a thickness of no more than three millimeters. The wood base must be carefully sanded. At the same time, you need to prepare a drawing for the future product.
- After that, the drawing begins to be transferred to plywood. It is mounted on a wooden base; this can be done using buttons. Check again the overall dimensions, layout, correctly position all the lamp parts on the plywood sheet.
- Then you can start cutting out the individual parts of the table lamp. First you need to make the internal details of the source. The contours of the lamp are done at the end.
- Take a hand-held jigsaw and hold it at a 90-degree angle. Sawing is carried out strictly according to the markings of the drawing. The tool should move smoothly without jerking. Otherwise, you can ruin the wood base.
- If you got off the drawing line a little in the process of work, then just return with a jigsaw to this markup. Such errors can be removed later with a file.
- The assembly of finished elements is carried out only according to the instructions (from the first part to the second, in order). After you assemble the entire structure, check it again, special attention should be paid to the parts on which there are holes for the electric cartridge.
- The procedure for gluing parts is best done with PVA glue. You can also use special wood glue. In order for the elements to be able to connect well, they can be additionally pulled together with a tight elastic band, so the glue mass can grab well enough. The finished lamp is coated with wood varnish.
Wall Light
To make a wall-mounted light source from this material, you first need to form wooden blanks. They should be flat and rectangular. You will need two such parts in total. Also in advance prepare a small block that will act as a corner. All received blanks should be preliminarily treat with fungicide and water-repellent agent. Then they are left to dry.
When all the parts are completely dry, you should immediately cover them with protective impregnation and resistant paint. Two blanks fasten with each other in the shape of the letter "G". It is better to do this with self-tapping screws.
Between these parts pour a little glue mixture and stick in this place a corner to give rigidity. In the upper part, a small hole for the wire must be drilled with a drill, after which the base is carried out.
The resulting luminaire can be attached to the wall covering using self-tapping screws or a bracket.
Chandelier
To make a ceiling lamp, you can prepare straight sticks of great thickness. But at the same time, the diameter should be enough to stretch cord... Every stick you need drill in the central part.
All blanks are carefully covered with protective impregnation and sent for drying, it can take one day. Insert into the holes made LED strips. The contacts of each such light element are connected to the cable and must be insulated. The finished chandelier is attached to the ceiling using a hook or brackets.
You can make beautiful from plywood nightlights for a children's room. Lamps are often made in the form of small houses, small animals (in the form of a whale, cat, owl, hare, dog). You can cut the moon, the sun, and the cloud out of plywood; you can decorate it beautifully. It all depends on the fantasy.
For the manufacture of children's nightlights, you can prepare several small flat plywood blanks in the form of squares or rectangles of the same size. In each such detail, drawings are cut out in the form of animals or in the form of floral ornaments. Through the holes made, light will enter the room.
Some wooden bedside lamps are made with carvings in the form of various volumetric compositions. But at the same time, it will be necessary to make several holes from different sides so that light penetrates the room through them.
Recommendations
If you are going to make a wooden lamp yourself, then you should pay attention to some of the recommendations of experts. Remember that when working with plywood it is better wear safety glasses or a mask. Indeed, when cutting out parts, sharp sawdust can fly off into the eyes.
Also, do not forget that when the lamp has several bulbs at once, there will be more wires in the end, but the switching circuit will work according to the same principle.
If you did Wall Light, then it should be placed at a height from the floor covering from 1.2 m to 1.6 m. In hallways, the installation of homemade sconces should be done at a height of about two meters.
To prevent wooden lamps from losing their beautiful appearance and deformation over time, it is recommended periodically clean them with a dry soft cloth... It is also worth treating the product with a substance that consists of vegetable oil and lemon juice... You need to mix these components in proportions of 1: 2.
If there is dirt on the luminaire that cannot be removed with a dry cloth, you can wipe it ammonia. Light sources made of such material should not be placed in rooms with high humidity or too high temperature conditions.
If you do not remove the accumulated dust from wooden products in a timely manner, various small parasites may appear on it. They will spoil the appearance of the wood, in addition, such a lamp will have to be thrown away.
These wooden products it is not recommended to place it near heat sources (radiators or fireplace). The distance to such structures should be at least one meter. Otherwise, structures may deform.
If you want to make the design of the product more original, you can also use branches of a natural tree. Often they are glued over the entire surface area of the lampshade. But such light sources may not be suitable for every interior. The branches are pre-cut into segments, which should differ slightly from each other in length and shape. They are treated with a protective varnish, sharp processes are removed. It is better to walk well on each branch with sandpaper.
Too thick elements should not be used, they can ruin the overall design of the finished device.
Beautiful examples
It will look beautiful in the interior of the room plywood chandelier in the form of a large ball. It can be done by alternating vertical and horizontal thin strips of wood. Thus, you get a structure in a cage, and the light bulb inside will illuminate the space well enough.
Another original option could be wooden lamp in the form of a small house, inside which one light bulb will be placed. It will be suitable for a children's room. If you want to make such a lamp more beautiful and interesting, you can make several of these houses at once.
Then you can take a metal wire. It should be wrapped in cloth, paper, or other decorative material. The wire is folded into a spiral. Several thick threads are fixed at each of its levels. One wooden house is firmly tied to each of them. A hook is attached to the top of the metal spiral. He will act as an attachment.
Such a lamp can be placed on the ceiling, stairs, hung over a desk or over a child's bed.
