How to make an owl from foamiran?

Foamiran is a fairly affordable and popular material for needlework. It is pleasant to hold it in your hands, it is soft, like plasticine, and crafts made from it keep their shape perfectly and have bright, saturated colors. In addition, children really like it, because you can sculpt from it, like from plasticine. Together with them, you can create many interesting products, for example, it can be a very cute learned owl, a master class on the creation of which we will consider today.

Foamiran, as a material, has become popular quite recently, however, it has already won the hearts of many needlewomen. However, it has many advantages, as well as disadvantages. From it, for example, like from ordinary plasticine, it is difficult to make small parts.

An owl made of foamiran is a rather complicated and material-intensive craft. But the result completely pays for itself. After hard work, you will get a great craft for a school show or just a home decor decoration. Such a small snowy owl will decorate both the table of a young schoolchild and an empty shelf in the kitchen.

To make the craft, in addition to foamiran, you will need some more materials. Things from this list are not difficult to get.

• Foam ball. These are sold in craft stores and are very inexpensive.
• Glue gun and stick for it.
• Two empty plastic bottles with a semicircular top. The lower halves of the bottles can be cut off immediately.

Finding these is easy at your nearest chandelier or electrical store.You will also need a cord with a plug to connect the fixture to the mains.

If you don't have enough foamiran, you can always use white or other light colors and tint them with oil pastels or other paints. It is desirable that they are water resistant. You will also need a can of varnish.

So, here we come to the most important thing, how can you make such a craft with your own hands? Let's analyze the whole process step by step.

• First you need to make feathers for the future owl. To do this, take sheets of foamiran and cut them into small pieces. For feathers on the body, they should be 4x2.5 cm, on the head - 3x2.5 cm, and for the wings, rectangles of 7x2.5 cm will be needed.Telling how many of them will be needed is definitely impossible, but you can always do it in the process of collecting the craft itself. When you have cut the rectangles, cut the corners to form a leaf. Depending on whether you want the feathers to be rounded or pointed, shape them accordingly.

• Making the owl itself should start with the head. Cut off the tops from two 1.5 liter bottles. Cut them lengthwise and sew with threads or glue them with hot glue so that the owl's head turns out to be elongated in breadth without a tubercle on the crown.

• Now glue the future head to the workpiece. Make sure that it is level and that the owl is not tilted forward or backward. For the convenience of gluing at the cutting stage, leave 2-3 cm of plastic below, then cut it into an impromptu fence, which you glue to the ball.

• Begin glueing the feathers in staggered rows - from the very bottom and make a full circle. In order for the foamiran pieces to adhere more tightly to the base, after the end of the circle, slightly heat them with a regular hairdryer at the base and press with your hand. Repeat this operation after each lap.

• After the main body has already been pasted over with feathers, it's time to tackle the wings. For them, you need to make a base in the shape of a banana, on which the feathers will be glued.

• For owl ears, cut two pieces of foamiran size 8x3 cm and shape them into an hourglass, leaving about 1-1.5 cm of material in the middle. Bend the resulting shape slightly across so that it is more stable, and glue it to the crown of the owl, covering the connection with feathers.
