How to make carnations from isolone?
Izolon (aka foamed polyethylene) is a material that is in any hardware store. It is very popular among people who are fond of making crafts with their own hands. It is not easy to work with - it requires certain fine motor skills, but it is relatively easy to find it. This quality distinguishes it favorably from the same foamiran. Today we will learn how to make carnations from isolone with our own hands.
Materials and tools
So, to make a carnation from an isolon, we need:
- isolon of different colors (for example, red and green) 2 mm thick;
- glue (it is better to purchase a glue gun);
- ordinary scissors (you can additionally take curly ones, this is at your discretion);
- glue "Moment" or any other quick-drying;
- wire for bouquets (sold in art stores);
- paints and a brush (optional), will come in handy if you want to change the color of the carnation, but it is better to immediately take an isolon of the desired color;
- tape tape.
Manufacturing technology
First, let's prepare the stencils. You can download them from the Internet or draw them yourself on a sheet of A4 paper. First of all, draw circles - these will be the future petals. The circles should be of different sizes: the largest 5.5 cm, the smallest - 3.3 cm. Between them there should be circles of other sizes that fit into this interval. If you wish, you can make the circles much larger, then the whole carnation will be larger.
Then we cut out the circles, and according to their sample we cut the circles from the isolone of the desired color. We try to give the edges of the circles some roughness. For this, you can use special scissors, but you can give the effect of torn edges with ordinary scissors. Or even leave the edges straight.
We fold the resulting circle in the center so that we get two parts and carefully cut it, slightly not reaching the center. Now we cut each half of the circle into three more approximately equal parts, not reaching the middle. Cut the resulting triangle two more times, but not so deep. We repeat with all the circles.
Heat slightly on the iron and raise the petals. The main thing is not to overexpose, so that the isolon does not start to melt.
Then we return to the stencils and draw the leaves. We cut them out from the isolone of the desired color according to the sample. Heat it up, fold it in half and stretch it a little to make it look more like real leaves.
Moving on to the base of the bud. Cut it out on a stencil, heat it and use your fingers to create a depression in the center. All the details are ready, you can assemble the flower. It is recommended to warm up the instant adhesive slightly before starting assembly. We take a wire, bend its end so that a loop or semicircle is obtained, after which we begin to collect the carnation, starting with the smallest part, which is fixed with glue. We continue to string the other parts in order of increasing.
Then we fix the leaves with the tape. The cloves are ready.
This is one of the most popular and simple master classes for creating a small carnation from isolone. However, on the Internet you can also find MK for creating growth carnations.
To make a carnation you will need:
- isolon about 2 mm thick;
- polypropylene pipe (a small part is useful, only 5 - 6 cm in size);
- scissors;
- a high planter (to form the base), about 17 cm in height and about 12 cm in diameter (it is better to find a suitable planter in advance with a hole in the bottom of such a size that part of the pipe can be freely placed);
- in addition, you can take green foamiran to create leaves;
- hairdryer.
Cut out 46 blanks for petals, shaped like a drop, from a sheet of isolon, measuring 25 cm in height and 21 cm in width (at its widest part). After that, we process the edges, giving them irregularities, for a greater resemblance to a natural flower.
Using a hair dryer, heat our petal, starting from the middle. From the middle, we draw out the petal, forming the central bend characteristic of flowers. Move to the edge and give the petal a slight waviness. Repeat for each petal (46 times).
We fill the pots. Carefully place 32 petals on the outside of the planter, and fill the inside with the remaining 14. For the inside of the planter, fold the petals in a fan and fasten. It is convenient to do this in pairs. You can also fasten the petals to each other using warm air. Now, in a pair, we turn one leaf inward, and open the other outward, as if clasping the inner one.
We glue the planter with strips of isolon of the corresponding color, if you are worried that it will be noticeable. We fill the inner part: we put glue on the bottom of a pair of petals (14 pieces - 7 pairs), and then we attach them to the walls of the pots in the order you want. We fill the planter from the edges to the center.
Next, we turn over our filled pots and begin to paste over it from the outside (32 petals - 16 pairs). Glue is also applied to the lower part of the pair (about 5 cm at the bottom). We begin to glue the petals as high as possible (as close as possible to the previous row). The bud is ready.
Now we glue a piece of pipe into the groove at the bottom of the planter. Then we heat the finished leaves, give a "live" look and glue over the rest of the pots. The bud can be attached to a suitable base - your wonderful growth carnation is ready.
