In order to build a flower-shaped isolon lamp, first of all, you need to purchase the basic working material. The fundamental point is that it is necessary to purchase cross-linked polyethylene foam. It costs more than an unstitched one, but during operation the difference will be noticeable. The sewn isolon has a volumetric memory, with increased loads the material is crumpled, but as soon as the pressure on the petal stops, they immediately straighten out and look fresh again.

The largest elements are usually made of an isolone of 3-5 mm, and the inner petals are made of a smaller and thinner, here a thickness of 2-3 mm will be enough. Izolon is suitable for creating luminaire shades based on non-heating LED lamps. The use of incandescent lamps is absolutely excluded - although strong heating of the material will not lead to a fire, the appearance of the floor lamp can cause serious damage.

When making petals and giving them the most realistic shapes and bends, a construction or powerful household hairdryer is usually used; if you have some work skills, you can use a standard soldering iron. When creating a floor lamp in the shape of a rose, you will have to work with your hands - you will need the following tools:

• tailor's scissors or a sharp cutting knife;
• building or household hair dryer, providing several modes of operation;
• hot glue gun with heating option and the ability to change the temperature;
• screwdriver;
• threads;
• construction stapler;
• paint - it is better to give preference to compositions in a spray can based on acrylic;
• coupling - it must be selected in such a way that the electric cartridge exactly enters the large side, and the small one can be adapted for the base tube;
• electrical components - wire, ring holder, switch, plug, and also a light bulb;
• pipe - you can take any plastic, metal or metal-plastic structure, for a table lamp 1.5 meters will be enough, for a floor lamp the lamp should be longer.

You will also need additional consumables - masking tape, flower pots and wire. Alternatively, you can make a lamp-flower based on a ready-made plafond - in this case, you only need to decorate it.

Before starting work, you need to decide what height your floor lamp will be and what size the flower will be - the stability of the structure largely depends on this. We offer you instructions for the manufacture of individual elements of the luminaire. It includes several steps.

This procedure includes several main stages. To begin with, the ring is dismantled from the cartridge and glued to the coupling. Then blanks are cut out per one rose:

• 12 parts 25x25mm in size;
• 8 parts with parameters 20x20 mm;
• 5 parts 20x5 mm in size.

The corners are cut off the blanks so that they resemble a drop.

To do this, they are bent and pulled, preheating the material with a hairdryer to increase its plasticity. For more decor, you can paint the details, draw veins on them.

After that, you can go directly to the assembly of the bud for the lamp. Chamomile-shaped petals are glued onto the coupling, made in the very first place - they should overlap towards each other with a slight outward slope. After that, two rows of 20x20 mm petals are attached on top, with each subsequent one about half covering the previous one.

Next, two more rows of 25x25 mm petals are glued.

In order for the flowers from the isolon to serve for a long time, all the details can be fixed together with glue or with the help of threads and a stapler.

Self-made lamps in the form of roses can have a trunk or do without it - this directly depends on the features of the attachment and the functional purpose of the household appliance. For example, if you plan to fix it to the wall, then you should glue punched tape on the back side. But if you need a floor lamp, then it will require a support - it is made from a pipe of a suitable size.

The manufacturing process includes the following work. A pipe section of the desired length near the base is twisted with a ring.

The rest of the element is bent to give the structure a decorative look. This must be done in such a way that, when assembled, the structure retains its stability and does not collapse

The upper part of the pipe is glued to the sleeve with a hot heat gun, the junction is decorated with sepals. After you make the stand, you can additionally decorate it - paint it, paste over it with tape or decorative tape.

However, even for the largest tall specimens, a 40 mm support will be sufficient.

In large growth flowers, leaves must be present on the stem, only in this case the rose will look as natural as possible. It must be made according to the same algorithm as all other floral elements. To begin with, blanks are cut out according to a template, heated with a hairdryer and folded. After that, the leaves are painted, decorated and fixed to the stem with a hot glue gun.

The technology for connecting all the main electrical elements of the circuit - that is, a cord, a switch, and a socket in izolon rose-lamps fully corresponds to a standard chandelier. These works look as follows.

In the center of the luminaire structure, there should be a place for a light bulb, so you can place an LED copy there.

Items made of isolone require the most careful care. Here are some basic rules that will allow your luminaire to retain its decorative look as long as possible.

• You need to wash the flowers very quickly under running cold water. The material is resistant to moisture, but if it stays in water for a long time, this will significantly worsen its appearance.
• Izolon should not be heated, otherwise its petals and leaves will deform and change their shape. That is why such lamps should not be placed near a battery or other heating devices.
• It is not recommended to wipe roses made of isolone with nail polish remover, acetone, alcohols or other solvents - they can change the appearance of the product for the worse.
• Try to refrain from any mechanical impact, do not pierce, scratch, or tear the isolon. Despite the fact that this is a rather flexible and durable material, under the influence of a large load, it can still deteriorate.
