An elegant decor, an elegant present, or a visualizer of desires - all of this can be wood made of wire. From the simplest and most accessible material, you can build a beautiful souvenir, which will combine both decorative tasks and a creative impulse. Even a beginner can handle it.

What do you need to work?

It can be small or medium in size, floor standing or even hanging... Such trees are often made as wedding favors, so the materials for execution vary depending on the purpose of the craft.

Interesting models become bright trees, which are based on wire and the most common nail polish. Cosmetic is becoming a popular material for making trees, as it is inexpensive and there are a lot of color options.

What you need to work:

  • thin and thick wire (you can make a trunk and branches from copper wire, it is easy to work with it);
  • manicure varnish (shade - to the taste of the master);
  • wire side cutters;
  • a straight cylindrical thing - for example, a felt-tip pen, a pen, maybe a makeup brush;
  • food or household sponge substrate;
  • vase;
  • plasticine;
  • alabaster.

This description of wood making is reminiscent of the classic process of making a wire tree from beads and beads. There is also a vase, a wire, but there is no plasticine - its function is performed by gypsum. And to hide his traces, the master makes sprinkles from small sea stones.

In this master class, everyone can arrange the work in their own way. It is important to choose a suitable vase and make the bed near the tree as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

If you don't want to focus on the vase, it should be done in the colors of the place where the souvenir will stand.So it will merge with them as much as possible, and it is the tree with varnished petals that will be in the spotlight.

Step by step manufacturing

You need to make sure that working surface completely ready for the creative process - the area of the working field is sufficient, all the tools are at hand, good lighting is present.

Some masters make a preliminary sketch, which they look up to in their work. But this is not at all an obligatory stage, you can trust your creative intuition.

Consider the process of making a tree from copper wire with your own hands step by step.

  1. The working tool will be a makeup brush (if it is not there, a pen and pencil will also work). You need to wind a wire on the opposite end of the brush. At the very base of the brush, the wire should be squeezed with your fingers and rotated at least 3 times. You will get one circle, which will become a new leaf. Naturally, the circle is hollow.
  2. In the same way, one more circle should be twisted, equivalent to the first. And then another one, so that 3 circles are formed at once on one wire end.
  3. Now carefully - the circles are alternately superimposed on the brush, after which the master needs to gently pull the edge of the circle with his finger (or even a fingernail). As a result, the leaf will take on an extended shape.
  4. Do the same with the remaining circles. As a result, a shamrock will crown the twig. A few calculations: if the diameter of the brush is 5 mm, and the leg of the trefoil base is 5 cm, then approximately 14 cm of wire will be spent on one such part (you need to take it with a small margin).
  5. In the same way, 2 more shamrocks are made. Only for the first and third elements, the leg will be slightly longer, 7 cm instead of 5 cm. On the one with the longer leg, you need to wind the remaining 2 elements. So, a part consisting of three twisted trefoils is called a base.

And now in more detail about how varnish is used, and why the tree will come out colorful without beads and beads.

  1. You need to collect more varnish on the brush and draw it along the wire from the edge to the middle - I mean exactly the hollow leaves. It is very important to press the brush with varnish so that no voids form between it and the wire. If there is emptiness, the varnish will go further, and then peel off. It is also important to pass the varnish from one edge to the other at one time. This is the only way to make a thin varnish film, which forms a bright leaf. And this procedure must be done with absolutely every leaf.
  2. After the first layer of varnish has dried, another layer must be applied to the sheet. This is done to give the tree a richer color. In addition, this way you can play it safe against missed areas, against the general background they will shine through. If the first layer of varnish dries for just a couple of minutes, then the second takes longer, about 20 minutes. And all the master classes assure you that there is no need to rush, otherwise all the work will go down the drain. For novice craftsmen, this is a real test of strength: to wait and not move on to a new stage. But the main thing is that in this work the tree has to be covered with a third layer of varnish.
  3. The third layer of varnish can be transparent if the leaves are painted over well... But if defects are clearly visible, the same colored varnish is needed. Some masters do the opposite - first they paint over the leaves with two layers of colorless varnish (with good drying of each), and the third layer is confidently colored.
  4. When all the varnish layers are applied to the future branches of the tree, they are recommended leave to dry completely overnight. Do not forget about airing the room, as you have to work with household chemicals.
  5. So, twigs-bases to weave, and then you will have to varnish a lot. There are no exact values, each master makes for himself, but usually 50-60 base branches are left for one tree. The question of how to properly dry them gives rise to interesting findings and even know-how. But if you don't have your own ideas, then a plastic substrate for food will be an excellent drying agent. The wire fits well into it, and the very shape of the substrate is not deformed.Alternatively, you can use a sponge, but this is not always convenient.

When everything is ready, and the branches are completely dry, you can start assembling large branches.

  1. This will require thick wire 70 cm long. It must be folded in half, and then again in half. And 3 bases are attached to this coiled part in turn. The same action is repeated for two large branches. Next, you need to bend already 80 cm of wire twice in half, winding 3 newly formed branches on a thick branch.
  2. The base of the tree is assembled from branches, which are obtained according to the example of paragraph 14. You do not need to make them fluffy, since in the future you will still have to press the branches. 3 pieces of thick wire must be glued to the trunk. Glue can also be used, but it is more convenient to do it with plasticine. Now this empty trunk should be hammered with something (paper, newspaper), and from above it should be covered with plasticine. The top of the trunk can be covered with alabaster - 1 kg of this material is usually sufficient. You only need to work with him with gloves. You need to fill the vase with alabaster almost to the top., leaving no more than 4 cm. The trunk is inserted into the vase, it remains to wait for it to dry - it will take about 7 minutes. It can be left white, but still more often the trunk is painted brown.
  3. And then - a difficult stage. Absolutely all the branches need to be sealed with plasticine. It should be bright so that in the future it will be easy to paint over it with brown paint. Not a single piece of wire should stick out. If the alabaster is still visible from the vase, it is dyed green to imitate grass.
  4. The work must be given time to dry. And the master usually needs rest after such a laborious task. The very next day you can work on fluffing up the branches of the tree. Then all the sheets should be examined: it happens that the varnish cracks, falls off. In this case, you need to touch up the defective areas.

Any beginner can make a lacquered tree, but you need to tune in to a long job. Experienced craftsmen can make a tree in 6 hours, without taking into account the drying time. And they spend about 6 bottles of varnish on a souvenir.

If the tree becomes a present, you can give it along with an envelope with money and say that this is a money tree for the safety of your home budget.

And if you give him a family photo frame with him, a homemade tree can be positioned as a genealogical one.

Recommendations

There are many variations of what exactly the wire tree will decorate.

If you don't want standard solutions like beads and beads, sequins can be a substitute for them. With them, the tree will turn out to be no less bright and elegant.

And if not them, so bright little buttons will become a chic crown for a homemade tree. By the way, such a present will certainly delight the needlewoman - it is like a compliment to her work, and is appropriate and thematically plays up the profession of a person.

If the tree is intended for a nursery or class, you can make foamiran leaves for it... Bright leaves from rainbow foamiran look gorgeous: they are soft, pleasant to the touch and visually look flawlessly. But there can be many options, sometimes they are born right during the work: shreds, colored paper clips, rhinestones will also be an interesting version of the crown of a wire tree.
