We make flowers from napkins with our own hands
Many housewives want to diversify the interior of the house and add bright colors to it. But such undertakings often involve large financial expenditures. You can create unusual products for home decoration with your own hands from ordinary napkins. Fortunately, handmade products are always in vogue.
What will it take to work?
Making flowers from napkins does not require a lot of money. Most of the materials can be found at home or at your local store.
The main part of the crafts - napkins - can be of any suitable color. You can take several different shades of products, creating a unique composition. Napkins can be single or multi-layered. The volume of the future flower depends on this.
Napkins should only be made of paper, preferably large.
Other basic materials for work:
- scissors;
- cardboard (base for applications);
- glue (PVA or pencil);
- large stapler with staples;
- compass;
- wire.
Some works will require additional materials.
Applications
Such works are simple to perform and are suitable for novice needlewomen or children. You can make applications from napkins very quickly if you follow the easy step-by-step instructions.
Immediately before the process, the contour of the future application must be applied to the base. You can come up with it yourself or take an idea you like from the Internet.
The main part of the work will be lumps or tubes of colored napkins. In this case, the finished material must be moistened with water - this will preserve its shape.
A step-by-step description of how to perform work from lumps.
- An adhesive layer is applied to the application pattern.
- Lumps need to be glued one at a time, additionally lubricating each with glue.
- The finished applique should dry for 15 minutes.
- If white napkins were used for the work, they additionally need to be painted with any available paints. Acrylics work best.
Performing work from the tubes.
- The blanks are pre-lubricated with glue so that they do not lose their shape on the finished composition. Tubes can be made in different shapes, for example, thin ones are suitable for stems, and thicker for flowers.
- The flagella are rolled up and glued to the circuit outline.
- The finished composition is varnished to fix the result.
Applications can be made more interesting if the flagella and lumps are of different sizes.
How to make voluminous flowers?
Such crafts are more difficult to perform, but with proper perseverance, even beginners will succeed. With the help of voluminous flowers, you can collect beautiful bouquets, big birthday numbers or unusual decorations for the interior.
Carnation
You can create a great bouquet of carnations at no great expense. Flowers with stems are performed as follows.
- Place several red or white napkins on top of each other. Fasten them in the middle with a stapler to maintain their shape.
- Draw a circle on the basis with a compass and cut along the contour.
- Attach a wire to the middle of the future flower.
- Make cuts on the circles, forming the petals of the bud. You can additionally make the openwork contours of the circles. This will make the flowers more "lively".
- Starting at the top, lift all the circles and press them towards the center with your fingers. Do the same for all layers.
- Wrap the wire (stem) with green corrugated paper. You need to make a thick base under the flower, like a natural carnation. Make leaves from the same paper and glue them to the stem.
An unusual solution would be to add a multi-colored edge to the white flowers. To do this, the cut out circles are framed with a multi-colored marker.
You can skip adding stems to crafts and use them for congratulatory compositions.
Roses
The easiest and fastest way to make a rose from napkins is to wrap it around a pencil. The process goes as follows.
- On a pencil or pen, you need to wind any napkin to the middle. Slide the twisted part towards the center on both sides as much as possible.
- Pull out the pencil. It turns out a swirling petal.
- Make several blanks in the same way.
- Take one of the petals and twist it so that the part removed from the pencil forms a spiral. This will be the center of the flower.
- With layers, twist the rest of the blanks to the center, placing them slightly lower than the previous ones.
- Tie the resulting flower from below with a thread.
The second method is more difficult, but the roses are more beautiful, with stems.
- Take a few layered wipes and unfold them completely.
- Cut off the edge 5 cm wide.
- Bend the rectangle along the long edge so that one of the parts is half the size of the other.
- Screw the workpiece onto your finger so that the bent part remains outside.
- Tighten 1/3 part tightly. It will join the stem. Carefully spread the other side, giving the napkin the shape of an open bud.
- Fix the wire at the twisted end. Roll napkins or green paper over the surface.
Previously, you can make the edges of the rectangle openwork. This will make the rose more beautiful. You can also make leaves from napkins by attaching them to the stem with glue.
Another interesting option is not to cut off the edge of the straightened napkin. The rose is made in a similar way, but the tightly twisted part remains long and represents the stem.
Tulips
In addition to the usual materials, you will need plastic spoons for crafts - 4 for each of the flowers. The result is a small bouquet of tulips. Step-by-step instruction.
- Unfold the napkin and tear at the folds into 4 parts.
- Place the spoon on a napkin so that its end is just above the middle of the paper, and the handle is on the corner.
- Cover the spoon with the free part of the napkin and wrap it tightly around.Create all 4 blanks in the same way.
- To collect the flower: put 2 spoons on top of each other so that the convex parts are outside. On the sides on both sides, install the remaining two in the same way.
- It turns out a tulip bud. To maintain the shape, the cuttings of the spoons must be glued together or secured with a rope.
- Now you need to hide the plastic "stems". Wrap a green napkin around so that one of the corners is located on the flower, like real tulips. Secure the napkin to the plastic with glue.
Ready-made flowers can be placed in a makeshift vase or tied with a beautiful ribbon, creating a bouquet.
Dandelions
For work, you will need multi-layer yellow napkins. First, they need to be cut into squares, the size of which depends on the volume of future flowers.
- Lay all the blanks on top of each other and fasten them in the middle with a stapler crosswise.
- Trim the edges of the flower into a round shape. You can use a pair of compasses to keep the garment flat. Make small cuts at the edges, giving the bud its original shape.
- Raise circles in turn, crushing them in the center.
The made flower can be used on appliqués or flat compositions.
Poppies
For crafts, you will need red, dark brown and green napkins.
Phased execution of work.
- Unfold the napkin and sprinkle generously with hairspray.
- Once the paper is dry, cut squares out of it. For small flowers, a size of 10x10 cm is suitable.
- Round the edges of the squares slightly and make shallow triangular cuts on them.
- Crumple the squares into tubes, then unfold.
- Squeeze the workpiece in the middle to form a bow. Wrap the edges up, in the shape of a bowl.
- Prepare other squares in the same way. Connect three blanks to each other, superimposing on each other, glue in the middle.
- Now you need to make the core of the poppy. Twist a piece of green napkin into a small ball, saturate with glue and smooth it well.
- Cut off an edge 2 cm thick from a dark brown napkin and make a thin fringe on it.
- Glue dark paper to the center of the bud in a circle. Place a green ball in the middle.
- Attach a wire to the bottom of the bud, then wrap it with a green napkin or corrugated paper.
- Leaves can be glued to the stems, taking the form of natural flowers as a basis.
Peonies
You need to take multilayer napkins, of any color. The craft is made as follows.
- Without opening the napkin, fold it like an accordion.
- Cut the edges of the rolled product in a semicircle. Do not throw away the remaining pieces, they will be needed in the future.
- Tie the central part of the accordion with thread to make a bow. The thread can be hidden by wrapping a strip of napkin.
- Expand the accordion, lifting each layer. Press the top to the center.
- The result is a beautiful voluminous peony. It can be decorated with wire stem and leaves.
Mimosas
The mimosa branch will be a great decoration for the spring holidays. Due to the small size of the flowers, the work is long and painstaking.
- Unroll the yellow napkin and cut into strips 2 cm wide.
- On each of the blanks, make a fringe, leaving 1/3 of the whole.
- Roll up the strips, sealing the part without fringes. You will get the base with which the flower is attached to the stem. Fasten the buds with glue to keep their shape.
- Cut leaves from a green napkin, making openwork edges.
- A branch can be made from several wires fastened together. Wrap them on top with green napkins and glue the leaves.
- The buds are randomly placed on all branches in small heaps.
Lush branches will look great in a vase or for spring photography.
Lotuses
It is better to use pink or white napkins to make the flower delicate. The type of napkins does not matter, but the two-layer lotus will be more magnificent.
- First you need to make blanks from green and colored napkins. For a large flower, the first will need 12, the second - 96.
- Bend the folded napkin diagonally. From the top corner, fold down the edges of the triangle. Turn the workpiece over and bend the protruding triangles up. Fold the shape in the center so that the folded corners are inside.
- When all the green blanks are done, they need to be connected in a circle using a thread. You should get a "star", the center of which is raised and drops to the edges.
- Collect blanks from colored napkins. They need to be deployed to get the "boats". Place the blanks in layers in a circle, gently bending the ends to the base.
- In this way, all layers are collected until a high volumetric lotus is obtained.
The work is quite painstaking and takes a lot of time.
