Paper crafts for children 8-9 years old
For children aged 8-9 years, any type of paper art is ideal. Paper and cardboard are fairly easy to work with and are available in many varieties. In addition, in the second and third grade, children already have an idea of the basic principles of creating such crafts and can apply the skills acquired, develop their imagination, and gradually master new techniques.
Making flowers
The most versatile paper flower option is tulips. They are quite capable of making any schoolchild for different reasons: for the celebration of March 8 or May 9, as a gift or just to decorate something. To create a tulip composition, you need squares with sides of 8 cm in red, pink or yellow. As well as green paper for the stems and cardboard for the backing.
How to do:
- fold the square diagonally;
- bend the side corners towards the center in the form of petals;
- cut the stems out of green paper, stick on cardboard, glue the tulip heads to them on top;
- leaves can be partially fixed to maintain the volume effect.
A more complex way is the volumetric flower using the origami technique. To do this, you need to do the following.
- Fold a square of colored paper in half: lengthwise and across.
- Turn the square over and fold it alternately along each of the diagonals.
- Fold the resulting workpiece in half, while turning the upper corners inward. As a result, you should get a triangle.
- Bend the bottom corners towards the center, align with the top. Do the same on the other side.
- Flip the right side of the resulting rhombus to the left (on both sides). The diamond should be smooth.
- Fold the edges one by one to the center with a slight overlap, insert one into the other. Do the same on the other side.
- Spread out the resulting pockets with your fingers from the inside. At the end of the triangle at the bottom, find a hole: you need to blow into it to get a volumetric pyramid.
- Carefully bend four petals (from each of the edges of the workpiece).
As a stem, you can twist a tube of green paper, take a strip of thick cardboard, or use another scheme for making leaves.
Flowers made of corrugated paper are very interesting.
- For the stem, wrap the wire or a wooden skewer with colored paper.
- We make the stamens from threads, wrap the attachment point with the same paper as the stem.
- For the petals, stripes are needed with a width equal to half the diameter of the flower. If the length is not enough, we glue several strips.
The more magnificent the flower, the longer the paper tape should be, which must be wrapped around the stamens and fixed with glue.
Depending on the shape of the petals, you can create chamomile, carnation, aster, chrysanthemum. To speed up the process, the tape must be folded 4 times and only then cuts are made.
How to make animals and insects?
In elementary school, children are especially interested in studying animals. This process can be combined with creativity. Funny animals and insects made using the quilling technique look original. To create them, you need paper strips that you can purchase or cut yourself. The instruction here is quite simple: a paper tape is wound onto any thin object (a toothpick, a pen from a pen or a special tool), then the resulting blank is given the desired shape with your fingers and fixed with glue.
It is especially interesting to create crafts that can transform, change their shape or move. A striking example is fish, which are not boring to play alone or in the company of friends.
The course of work will be as follows.
- Take a sheet of colored paper... If it is rectangular, it is necessary to combine the edges that are at right angles, cut off the excess. To create a fish, you need a square.
- Expand square, bend each half towards the diagonal.
- Notches are made from the side of the diagonal of the square... The sides will be the belly of the fish. They need to be glued along the edge.
- The head of the fish can be slightly rounded, glue the tail, fins, eyes... The craft is complemented with teeth, tongue or other details at your discretion.
Fruits and vegetables
Amazing fruits and vegetables are made from cardboard and paper: voluminous and bright. For the first option, you need to do the following.
- On paper of a suitable color, draw the outline of a fruit: a pear, an apple, an orange, or even a watermelon. To make the craft look more realistic, it is better to take 10, 12, 14 or 16 blanks.
- Then bend each and glue in pairs.
- Before gluing the last halves, place a petiole and a piece of cardboard in the middle.
- Glue a white oval in the center of each spread and draw bones.
Dry upright, straightening each spread.
Using colored paper, you can create an interesting still life. Let's analyze the step-by-step course of work.
- Cut out the base in the form of a silhouette of the selected fruit or vegetable, stick it on thick cardboard... Supplement with leaves or herbs.
- Glue rings from paper strips, place them on the base in rows or in any order... Use double-sided tape or glue to fix it. Instead of paper rings, you can use any decor (for example, cones, twisted pieces of napkins, etc.).
For those who do not have enough imagination and skill to draw the details for crafts on their own, you can use ready-made templates from magazines for creativity or the Internet. The templates are printed on a color printer, transferred to paper and painted on their own. The cut out blank of the future fruit must be bent along the dotted line, leaving allowances for gluing.Now you can start the actual assembly.
To prevent the figurine from disintegrating, it is better to take a strong glue or wait for each joint to dry.
More ideas
Everyone is pleased to use hand-made things. Boys and girls over 8 years old can decorate their books and textbooks with handy bookmarks. One of the easiest ways is to make a pigtail bookmark of white and blue stripes (you can take any colors you want).
The instructions for implementation look like this.
- Glue two stripes of different colors on a white strip... You need to start work from the corner. And on top of them we glue the blue one (parallel to the white). It is important to be careful, align and align all the slices.
- Then, starting from the right side, bend the top strip so that it runs parallel to the left side.
- We do the same one by one on each side until the stripes run out.... The ends can be simply glued together or hidden under a sticker.
Alternatively you can use bookmark dressing on the corner of the page... It can look different and will definitely stay in the right place. Do it as follows:
- bend a square of thick paper diagonally;
- bend the side parts of the resulting triangle up, aligning with the top, then unfold back;
- fold the top in half, to the bottom fold;
- bend the side parts, wrap the free ends inside the resulting pocket.
The corner can be used to decorate to your liking: glue the eyes, ears, draw the missing details so that you get a funny character.
Another useful and original accessory for the student's desk - a stand for stationery. For the base, use a box or sleeve with a glued bottom.
The stand can be wrapped in colored paper or made up of containers of different colors.
There is also a more complex option:
- cut strips of paper of different colors just above the box;
- roll the blanks with a pencil so that you get tubes of the same diameter;
- glue the edges;
- coat the box with glue and arrange the multi-colored tubes on all sides.
