How to make an origami flower?
Knowing how to make an origami flower is very important for DIY enthusiasts. Novice connoisseurs of the Japanese art of paper folding need to figure out how easy it is to make a rose with your own hands. It is also worth paying attention to the step-by-step tulip making workshop and a simple lotus making scheme.
Simple option
Making an origami flower is not as difficult as it seems. Quite a simple solution is to make a lotus. The key form for obtaining it is the so-called pancake. This blank is actively used in many other origami compositions. With due diligence, everything is done quickly and efficiently. First of all, prepare a square of paper. Then its opposite corners are applied to each other. If working with an initially square sheet, it is folded diagonally and unfolded. Next, you need to fold the two remaining corners. Attention: in the process of work, you should control the coincidence of the opposite ends of the workpieces.
When this is done, the sheet is unfolded. Normally, a perpendicular to the previous fold line should remain. Then you have to:
- bend all corners to the middle of the square;
- make sure that they do not overlap;
- repeat the previous two steps (it is at this stage that the notorious "pancake" appears).
The corners of the square are folded again - twice. Check if the joint is exactly centered and at a 90 degree angle to the new fold. You also need to ensure that the bent corners of the main folds are located on top. Repeating this for each corner, form a slightly smaller square. Again, the corners are bent according to the same principle - despite the monotony, the work must be done slowly and meticulously.When everything is ready, the square must be turned over and the corners must be bent towards the center. At this stage, folding the paper will become more difficult - you have to take it into account. Taking a corner, bend it ¼ from the middle. You do not need to strive to bend the paper to the end, and this is hardly possible.... This procedure is repeated with each of the corners.
As a result, you should get an octagon with uneven sides. Then you can proceed to the preparation of the "petals". To do this, you need to turn out the corners and turn the figure over so that the previously obtained corners are visible.
They work with them separately on each petal. This is the most time consuming and slowest part of the process, and it’s better to waste a few extra minutes than ruin the whole idea.
If you carelessly, there is a high risk of tearing the paper. Sometimes you have to unfold the figure a little, because otherwise the petals cannot be turned out. After finishing the work, the bottom of the figure should be vertical or nearly vertical. Next, you have to turn out the corners of the next row. Similar to the previous step, it is useful to turn the workpiece over so that everything is clearly visible.
Turning out is done as carefully and thoroughly as possible. One should not strive to immediately get a small graceful lotus. The larger the simulated flower, the easier it is to train. Therefore, for a start, you should take large paper sheets. Having worked out one figure, you can proceed to the preparation of "lotuses" of different shapes and colors - again, without trying to reduce the figure too much, if there is no feeling of complete readiness for such a delicate work.
Creating different colors
Surprising someone by presenting a living rose as a gift is very difficult. But origami with such a plot is an excellent option to show your originality and show a subtle aesthetic taste. Of course, for beginners, the desire to make a lush flower is hardly justified. It is more correct to use the simplest options and only then complicate your task. "Rose Kawasaki", believe me, will not go anywhere, and it will still come to her.
Again, the key step in this step-by-step process is creating the pancake. Connoisseurs recommend using double-sided paper in order to achieve a consistent perception of the model. The sequence is as follows:
- a fold is marked on the square in the longitudinal plane by folding in two;
- after unfolding, a transverse fold is made in the same way;
- bend all corners to the middle;
- unfold the square 90 degrees;
- turn it back into an envelope;
- resort to the third bend of the corners;
- prevent the model from falling apart by stroking the folds with your fingers.
So far, everything is going, apparently, easily, and all diligent people and even children will be able to implement this instruction.
Having prepared the bud, you need to take care of the “opening” of its “petals”. The vertices of the triangles are gradually folded back at all layers of the shape. The edges of the petals are wrapped around a pencil - this technique allows you to achieve naturalness. But, of course, this does not end there - what is a rose without leaves?
They are made from a sheet of green paper. First you need to make a basic kite shape. The square is bent in two diagonally and straightened. Fold the sidewalls to the prepared middle axis, first from below, then from above. When this is done, the following diagram is as follows:
- fold the workpiece along the longitudinal axis;
- bend up one of the sharp corners;
- straighten the "pocket" that appears;
- do the same on the other side;
- glue the leaves on the back of the flower.
When simple shapes are already very good, you can try to make a more complex rose. For her, the basic figure is a "double square". It is necessary to take a sheet of paper measuring 210x210 mm. It is folded along two diagonals, and then folded in half along and across. Next, you need to unfold the square so that one of the vertices looks "at itself". The side parts are converted into "pockets". They are connected along the center line. Be sure to smoothen the workpiece - both front and back. An open edge is directed towards oneself. It needs to be “closed” to the right, but at the same time exactly 2 upper layers are captured - no more, no less.
A "pocket" should appear on the left; it is folded, combining the corner of the protrusion with the top of the base... Next, the workpiece is turned inside out along the vertical axis. The upper origami levels are folded in the same way as described above. The opening of the "flower" is achieved by an operation with control points (indicated in the illustration). You also need:
- put the index and thumb in the appeared "cups";
- turn an impromptu "bud" around the axis;
- crumple the inside from above;
- curl the petals with a toothpick or wire.
You can make a beautiful tulip according to the origami scheme. A simple approach is as follows:
- cut out a red square;
- bend it diagonally to the state of a triangle;
- iron the bend;
- fold back the sharp sections of the triangle in the opposite way so that they protrude from above;
- when this is done on both sides, turn the workpiece over;
- make a stalk of light green color;
- connect the parts of the flower.
The lotus can also be made by hand using an alternative method.... You will need 8 rectangles in pink and 4 rectangles in green. Their size is 135x75 mm. The green rectangle is folded in two horizontally. Then fold the half part back so that only the fold strip remains.
The corners are folded towards the center on all sides. The long edge is bent towards the middle of the figure. Then you have to:
- bend the module inward;
- make pink blocks in the same way;
- put the module one on top of the other;
- align 4 "boats";
- tie them tightly with a thread;
- disperse the petals symmetrically;
- bend the petals up through 1;
- bend the next level of petals in the same way;
- spread the green leaves.
Recommendations
To make origami as clear and competently as possible, you need to carefully study the diagrams and images. Refusal of such help, as practice shows, leads to sad results. When children master this art, it is necessary to constantly draw their attention - at least at the initial stage - to the tactile sensations of the paper. Whenever possible, figurine compilation should be used to establish cooperation between children and adults and among themselves. A lesson with preschoolers should not last more than 30 minutes.
Before you start assembling origami, it is advisable to stretch your fingers. You need to take moderately thick paper for work. Both too soft and too hard varieties of it are not suitable. In addition to colored paper, you can use chocolate wrappers.
Children should be taught to gently smooth out the folds - this is done not with the palm, not with the fist, but only with the fingers.
