Crafts from cardboard

Cardboard is considered a popular material for making all kinds of crafts. It perfectly absorbs paint, can be easily cut with scissors, pierced with an awl without any problems, and is generally convenient for work.

Finger puppets are quickly and easily created from white cardboard. For the base, several rectangles are prepared with a length of 3 centimeters and a width of 5 centimeters. Each one is twisted into a cylinder in one revolution and fixed at the joint with glue. In parallel, cardboard circles are cut out of dense material, on which the faces of the characters are drawn. After they are glued to the tubes, you can proceed to the game.

Undoubtedly, white cardboard becomes the basis for a variety of postcards - from the lightest to the most complex ones, decorated in quilling and origami techniques. It is proposed to complement such nice handmade souvenirs with buttons, beads, glitter, sequins, lace, foil, lacing, dried leaves and other details. A large box with thick walls, with the help of parents, makes an excellent house for playing games, storing toys or even living for pets. It is enough to cut through the windows and the front door, and then trust your imagination - paint the walls, add a pipe, hold lanterns for lighting, paste wallpaper from the inside or hang curtains. If the structure is intended for outdoor use, then its roof can be assembled from real branches.

A very original pumpkin is obtained from a white toilet paper roll or paper towel. In addition to the cardboard blank, work requires scissors, a rope, a piece of a rather thick branch, PVA glue and sparkles. The process begins by cutting the sleeve into circles. Each is coated with glue and sprinkled with gold glitter, an interesting alternative to which can be the pages of old books. After all the circles are dry, they will need to be collected on twine to form a pumpkin.

Children 6-7 years old will surely love the construction of a cardboard airplane. From the materials you need to prepare only colored cardboard, for example, black or red, PVA glue, matchboxes and colored paper. The work begins with the fact that a T-shaped outline of an aircraft under construction is drawn on white paper. Having cut out the template, the contour must be repeated twice already on cardboard. The resulting parts are glued one on top of the matchbox, and the other on the bottom.

Its tail part is additionally connected at the very tip. A propeller and a pair of stars are cut out of colored paper in a contrasting color. The propeller is attached to the nose of the aircraft using a decorative paper clip or glue. Each wing is also decorated with a star. By the way, in this master class, instead of a matchbox, you can also use a toilet paper sleeve.

From thin cardboard laminated with transparent tape, beautiful bookmarks are obtained, and from double-sided shiny ones - figurines for interior decoration. For example, if the parents cut out the silhouette of a ballerina from the sparkling material, and the child himself creates a snowflake pack for her, then the resulting composition can be hung on a chandelier.

Quite quickly, an aquarium with fish is created from cardboard of different colors. First, the cardboard box, freed from the lids, is painted from the inside in blue shades, and, if desired, is decorated with “underwater” details made of colored paper, plasticine or sparkles. Further, the structure is placed in such a way that one of the side walls remains empty. 3-5 slots are cut along the top of the box, and a dense thread or a piece of yarn is passed through each. Beautiful fish cut from colored cardboard are attached to them. From the outside of the aquarium, each string connects to a large button holding it or a plastic bottle cap.

Shadow theater will be a fascinating craft for a child: it will be interesting not only to implement it step by step, but also to use it afterwards. From materials and tools for creativity, you will need a cardboard box, tracing paper, black cardboard, white pencil, wooden skewers, tape or glue, scissors and a stationery knife. To obtain the frame, the box must be removed from the covers and the bottom. Further, a piece of tracing paper of a slightly larger size will need to be carefully glued to the sides of the structure, not forgetting about a slight tension.

Black cardboard is used to carve the characters of the future performance. The more detailed the silhouettes are, the more realistic the presentation looks, and therefore it is better to use ready-made templates for this. Each figurine is attached to a wooden skewer in a convenient way. Before the start of the show, you will also need to light a small lamp and place it in front of the manager, but behind the figures.

Colored cardboard is also suitable for the implementation of numerous options for products on the theme of "Autumn". For example, it can be an autumn garland of cardboard leaves of various shapes, acorns and cones. Everything is done very simply: double-sided paper parts are cut out according to the template, which are then suspended on a thick thread or twine along with natural materials.

For children aged 2-3 years, it is better to start acquaintance with the material with applications. After the parents draw the outlines of trees, the sun, a house and other objects on a white background, the child will only have to fill them with pieces of colored cardboard, plasticine plaits, dried leaves and other details.

Another simple craft is a rainbow in the clouds. In addition to 7 shades of colored cardboard, scissors, an adhesive pencil, a stapler and cotton wool are useful. 7 strips of different colors are cut out of thick paper so that each subsequent one is shorter than the previous one. As a result, red should be the longest and purple the smallest. The strips are stapled together in the sequence: red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, blue and purple. After that, 3 cotton balls are fixed on each side at the foot of the rainbow as clouds.

Corrugated cardboard is more durable than ordinary cardboard, as it is formed from several layers. If you cut such a piece, then in the section you can see the "waves" glued in a checkerboard pattern. It is customary to use this material for packaging expensive equipment, but it turns out to be indispensable when creating crafts. For example, it is very easy to make a photo frame from corrugated cardboard. Having cut a strip 5 centimeters wide and 30 centimeters long, it will need to be rolled up into a ring, gluing the ends. On one side of the structure, a back wall made of a paper mug is attached, and on the other, a photograph is placed.

As a gift to his father, a child will be able to make a tank out of corrugated cardboard. To work, he will need a paper box, for example, from under shoes, corrugated cardboard, thick green and red paper, PVA and Titanium glue, scissors, a pencil and green gouache. In addition, you will have to prepare half of a balloon stick, a toothpick, a cork from a plastic bottle, a needle with green threads and a brush. The first step is to design the tank hull out of the box. It is pasted over on 4 sides with green cardboard so that the top side is 3.5 centimeters larger than the bottom.

Next, a strip with a width of 2.5 cm is cut from the corrugated cardboard, after which one side is torn off from it. The resulting track is glued to the body of the tank from both sides. Corrugated cardboard with a paper backing is also fixed on top of the structure. The turret of the tank is constructed from a corrugated strip, the width of which coincides with the height of the box used. It is important to leave small tails with which the tower is fixed to the base. The tower is closed with a lid, in addition, a hatch is glued to it.

The barrel of the cannon can be made from a plastic bottle cap perforated in the center. The most convenient way to do this is to use a hot awl. A half of a tube for balloons is inserted into the resulting hole and fixed with glue. The structure is glued directly to the tower or to a circle of green cardboard cut to fit the lid. Wheels are created from corrugated strips 1 cm wide. The top side of each is removed up to half, after which they are rolled up and clamped with an elastic band. After a while, they can be glued.

For fuel tanks, you will need to roll up a paper strip with a tube and close it with a circle. The finished tank is painted over with a mixture of gouache and PVA. The technique is decorated on both sides with stars and a red paper flag set on a toothpick.
