Crafts in the form of leaves fallen in autumn is one of thousands of ways to instill in children and adolescents a sense of beauty and aesthetics from an early age - as soon as the child has learned to speak and think. As an example - making a sheet of birch, maple and several other types.

How to make maple leaves?

A maple leaf in the form of an accordion is very easy and simple to make. These actions boil down to the following.

  1. Cut the painted or initially colored paper into 15 * 15 cm squares.
  2. Bend one such square diagonally.
  3. Use a pencil to mark a point or draw a line along the center of the fold.
  4. Collapse corners at this mark.
  5. Turn the workpiece over and bend the top and bottom sides towards the center line.
  6. Collapse the previously folded corners, directing them along a line from the edge.
  7. Fold the resulting workpiece in half.
  8. Make two more similar blanks by repeating the previous steps. To speed up the process, you can make it parallel - simultaneous processing of such workpieces.
  9. Roll one of the blanks according to the following scheme: correlate the bottom corner with the top of the triangle located at the top in the resulting accordion located at the bottom. This side will be on the left.
  10. Do the same with the other accordion, bending it to the right. You will get the right side of the sheet.
  11. Glue the triangle of the right blank and the triangle of the central part. Attach them to each other.
  12. Glue the left part to the central one in the same way.
  13. Glue the triangle on the right side to a similar area of the second part. Half of the product is ready. Attach the left side in the same way.
  14. Bend the cutting section diagonally on both sides of the workpiece.
  15. Connect the lower triangles of the workpiece with each other - with the upper parts of the cutting. The sheet will take on an expanded look. Press down the attachment points, letting the glue dry and harden.
  16. Along the expanded ribs, apply glue inside the central recess.

The structure and texture of the paper for making an accordion maple leaf does not matter. The theme of the products is autumn or spring (yellow or bright green). To make a craft based on ready-made cuttings from a stick, for example, from a popsicle, do the following:

  • circle real leaves on paper, using them as a template;
  • cut out by checking the lines you have drawn;
  • make holes in the middle of the workpiece;
  • use a satin ribbon or decorative twine for tying, you can also use threads;
  • tie the blanks to the sticks.

The resulting products can be attached, for example, to the curly bars on the window. Experienced craftsmen also use a cut branch from a grape bush. The arrangement of the blanks looks like a real tree branch with autumn leaves.

Making a birch leaf

The steps for making a maple and birch leaf are similar, do the following.

  1. Fold a square of paper in half to make a double triangle.
  2. Cut off any excess with scissors. Expand the workpiece.
  3. Cut it along the bend line. You get two isosceles triangles.
  4. One sheet - one triangle. Fold it like an accordion - the first bend is made along the longest side of it.
  5. Turn the accordion upside down and fold it in half.
  6. Apply glue to one edge of the resulting workpiece and glue. Leave a hole for the cutting.
  7. Cut a strip of yellow paper for the cutting 1 * 5 cm.
  8. Twist the strip and stick it into the hole previously left in the sheet. Glue all joints before pressing.

The birch leaf is completely ready.

Paper is a short-lived material if it is not additionally protected from moisture and decay over time. It is recommended to use double-sided paper. Curly scissors are used to add extra beauty and more sophisticated shapes. Oak leaves are asymmetrical and are somewhat more difficult to make.

The workpiece is cut according to the shape of the brought sheet. Natural imperfection gives naturalness to the crafts being made.

The natural sample is applied with the smooth side down.

If there is no decorative paper, then the usual one will do - the product can be painted or painted. The color scheme - from yellow to reddish-orange, green shades - sets the tone for any texture. The coating material - lead, felt-tip pens and markers reagents, watercolors - does not matter. A cut out product, if it is flat, and not voluminous, like an accordion, is easy to reproduce, even without a real autumn leaf.

Examples of crafts: a basket of leaves, a branch with leaves, leaves lying on the grass. In the latter case, the grass is drawn and glued separately.
