Crafts made from coffee beans are very often used to decorate home interiors, and also some of them are created by children together with their parents for kindergarten or school. All materials for this kind of crafts are very easy to find, they are affordable.

A special feature of handicrafts made from coffee beans is undoubtedly the fact that a wonderful aroma emanates from them for a long time. We will consider the nuances of working with coffee beans at home further, and also get acquainted with how to independently make a picture, a cup and some other original crafts out of them.

Features of working with material

Working with coffee beans is very easy, which means that anyone can create a masterpiece from a picture, the main thing is to have patience and all the necessary materials. Special skills and knowledge are not needed in this matter. However, working with coffee beans can be quite painstaking. If you purchase high-quality materials for crafts, then it will delight others with its beautiful appearance for a long time.

It is important not to save on materials, for example, on glue, on which coffee beans are very often fixed, otherwise they may soon fly off. All accompanying materials must also be of high quality.

Before you start creating a craft, it is important for it to choose the right basic material, namely, coffee beans, which, as you know, come in different types. The color of the beans depends on the degree of roasting. So, if you plan to make an image of a dark cat from grains, then you should choose heavily roasted grains, and if you need a lighter material, then medium roasted grains, which have a bright beige tint, are suitable.

Also, grains are of various varieties, for example, grains of the well-known Arabica variety are oval, but quite expensive. However, on the market you can find a lot of other varieties that are more beneficial for craftsmen.

If you have not previously had to do such crafts, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the proposed schemes in advance, as well as interesting options for work that you can take as the basis for your future product.

Making wood

Surely many have seen trees of various sizes, made from coffee beans. They can not only be a great home decoration, but also perfect for a gift. Coffee trees are also called coffee topiary. So, in order to make a topiary yourself, you will need the following materials:

  • coffee beans;
  • round blank made of polystyrene;
  • artificial trunk;
  • a gun with glue for decoration and PVA glue;
  • colored napkins;
  • dark threads (thick ones are suitable for sewing, but it is better to take for knitting);
  • colored ribbons for decoration (if you wish, you can use both thin ribbons and thicker ones);
  • plastic flower pot;
  • building plaster.

Styrofoam blanks and barrels can be purchased at craft stores. The trunk can be made independently, but it does not always look as aesthetically pleasing as the finished one, in addition, the purchased options are more stable.

Step-by-step instructions will help you make a good craft.

  • First, let's take care of the crown of the future tree. The foam ball should be pasted over with dark napkins with PVA glue, and allowed to dry. It can also be pasted over with light napkins, but then it will also have to be painted. This is done so that the white color does not shine through the grains in the future.
  • Then we make a hole in the ball and use glue to fix the previously acquired barrel.
  • We got the following blank: a ball on a stick, which needs to be pasted over with coffee beans and glue from a pistol. At the end of this stage, move on to the next.
  • We breed plaster of paris according to the instructions attached to it. The mixture should be thick. The diluted mixture must be poured into a flower pot, and a trunk with a crown must be installed approximately in the center of the pot. Let it set until the mixture solidifies completely. On average, it will take 10-15 hours to completely dry.
  • To keep the plaster from being conspicuous, you can also put some coffee beans or even decorative moss under the base of the tree in the pot.
  • At the end of the work, we make a small ribbon bow and fix it directly under the crown, on the tree trunk.

On a note:

  • in addition to round foam balls, for needlework you can also find figurines in the shape of hearts or cones;
  • if there is no desire to buy a ready-made barrel, then you can take an ordinary stick and wrap it with twine;
  • if you want to make a purchased tree trunk more "alive", then you can decorate it with jute, while imitating tree bark;
  • many experts in needlework cover finished crafts with varnish or paint, such a technique, of course, will make any craft more durable, but in this case you will have to part with the coffee smell;
  • if the pot seems too boring, then it can be beautifully decorated with burlap.

How to make a painting?

Novice craftsmen can try to make a picture or a panel from coffee beans with their own hands. The job is perfect for school, or you can leave it at home. Such a craft will become a real wall decoration. For her you will need:

  • coffee beans;
  • cardboard sheet;
  • glue, scissors and a simple pencil;
  • cotton or linen fabric.

A step-by-step master class will help in making crafts.

  • A sheet of cardboard should be wrapped with a piece of cloth on all sides and fixed with glue at the back.
  • Next, a sketch of the future pattern should be applied to the fabric. If the pencil is poorly visible on the fabric, you can use a dark marker. If the fabric is translucent, then you can paint over the drawing completely. To create a picture, it is advisable to print stencils in advance. As an image, you can choose an owl, a cat, a mug of coffee, a tree or leaves, which is especially important for the theme of autumn.
  • Then we take a glue gun, grains and just carefully fix them within the boundaries of the outlined pattern.
  • Upon completion of the work, the grains on the panel can be varnished, and the picture, of course, is best framed.

The following video will tell you how to make two panels with coffee beans with your own hands.

More ideas

Let's get acquainted with other original crafts from coffee beans, which can be made without leaving home.

Cup

To create a mug with coffee beans, it is important to prepare:

  • glue gun;
  • coffee beans;
  • a cup, you can with a saucer.

This master class is very simple. The main thing here is to glue the coffee beans as close to each other as possible on the surface of the cup. The cup itself can be taken transparent or, on the contrary, dark brown. If necessary, the grains can be treated with a special varnish.

As a decoration, you can place small ribbon bows or cinnamon sticks on the cup.

Candles

Some of the most interesting candles are those decorated with coffee beans, because they give off an exquisite aroma. Candles can be completely covered with coffee beans or only partially. And you can decorate them with anything: cinnamon, dried orange slices, jute twine.

Consider the simplest master class that does not involve candlelighting, which is quite time consuming. To create a decorative candle, you should prepare:

  • a candle;
  • coffee beans;
  • paint;
  • a pallet a little larger than a candle, it can be purchased or cut from some unnecessary container;
  • glue.

We act step by step.

  • First, you need to process the pallet for the future candle. To do this, it should be painted black or brown, allowed to dry, and then start gluing coffee beans to it in a chaotic manner.
  • You can decorate the pallet with sticks or cinnamon stars, we also fix them with glue.
  • Then we simply place the candle in the resulting pallet.

However, it should be understood that it is not always possible to find a suitable pallet. In this case, old unnecessary candles or purchased paraffin can be melted on the stove and the resulting mixture can be poured into a prepared tray with coffee beans, it is important not to forget to put a wick. The main thing is that the pallet is strong.

Watch

You can also make unusual clocks from coffee beans. We will need:

  • cardboard;
  • paints;
  • glue, scissors;
  • jute twine;
  • coffee beans;
  • decorative numbers and hands for watches;
  • for decoration, you can use cinnamon sticks or stars.

We work step by step.

  • We cut out an even circle from cardboard, and from it we make the side of the watch, which we fix with glue from a pistol.
  • We mark the center. Next, paint the dial in the middle with a lighter paint, and dark on the sides. In the middle of the PVA glue, you can glue your favorite picture.
  • Next, we glue the numbers on the dial and begin to decorate the product with coffee beans in a circle. We fix them with glue from a pistol. At the end of the work, we install the arrows, and also fix the decor on the resulting clock.

Hedgehog

A hedgehog can be a great fall craft that is perfect for kindergarten. Parents can do it with their children, it is a very exciting process. We will prepare materials:

  • salty dough or styrofoam;
  • coffee beans;
  • scissors;
  • leg-split.

The master class will help you do everything right.

  • First, you need to wrap the hedgehog's nose with twine, fixing it with glue.The nose should be tapered. You can make it from dough or purchase a foam blank.
  • Then we use twine to form the lower part of a rounded piece of dough or foam, which will serve as the basis for the hedgehog's body.
  • Next, we fix the nose to the body and begin to attach the coffee beans to the body using glue from a pistol. The hedgehog's nose should also be made from a coffee bean.

Mill

A more complex craft can be made from coffee beans - a mill. To create it you will need:

  • rounded bank;
  • cardboard;
  • burlap and twine;
  • glue in the gun;
  • skewers and toothpicks;
  • coffee beans;
  • polymer clay or plasticine;
  • paints.

The master class consists of several stages. The selected jar should be coated with glue and stick the twine on it. The roof of the mill can be made of cardboard. Roll the cone out of the sheet and fix it, paint it, and after drying, glue the grains to it, leaving a small space for fixing the blades.

The blades of the mill are also made of cardboard, wrapped with twine; it is important to place skewers on the sides. We fix everything with glue. We glue the blades to the mill, and then glue the grains in the remaining gap.

To make a door, you need to glue together several toothpicks and cut off their sharp edges. Then you should fix the door on the mill and, if desired, place twine along its edge. The door handle can be made from plasticine.

We make windows from toothpicks in the same way. The base should be made of thick cardboard covered with burlap. You can also decorate it with grains.
