Crafts "Hedgehog" from leaves are one of the most attractive autumn applications on paper and not only. It is very important to figure out how to make a hedgehog with your own hands from maple leaves.

A voluminous craft made from willow leaves is also worthy of attention.

A simple version of maple leaves

An autumn craft that imitates animals that can be found in the forest is quite logical and looks very nice. Do not think that such a composition is meager and monotonous. The possibilities for the manifestation of imagination are very great. A great option is to make the applique on paper in stages. Dry maple leaves can be taken as a basis.

To get a good result, you need to properly collect the material for the craft. It is required to select only a whole sheet that is not damaged or distorted externally. Even in dry weather, the entire collection will have to be dried additionally. Otherwise, it will also be possible to make a composition on the theme of "Autumn", but the period of its preservation will upset lovers of handicrafts. Drying is carried out either between the pages of books (paper), or by ironing the material with a slightly warmed iron. On the table you need to put an oilcloth or tablecloth, which you do not mind.

Recommendation: when an adult and a child work together, it is more correct to use a fresh sheet, and only then dry the completely prepared application.

They start by gluing the main part of the hedgehog to the background, that is, its body. You need to create this part, focusing on a drawing or photograph. Different leaves are attached on top of the body.

Applying glue to the entire surface of the sheet is impractical. This approach leads to the appearance of pronounced irregularities in the sheet. As soon as all the leaves, including on the back, are glued, the composition is laid out under a press. It will take 2-3 days to wait for drying in a normal room.

If we talk about the application for class 1, then there is another option:

  • make the body of a hedgehog from a small birch leaf;

  • arrange thorns from maple foliage;

  • draw a sweet face and apples impaled on needles.

Another way is appliqué, replacing the torso with a pencil sketch. The result of the work looks something like this. The outline is best drawn on colored (usually blue) cardboard. The body of the insectivorous animal is covered with bright maple leaves. To get the face and legs, they lead along the contour with a dark felt-tip pen.

In some cases, the torso and muzzle can be made equally from maple leaf. But contrast requires the selection of leaves in different shades. There are usually no problems with this. The head of such a hedgehog is usually made of cardboard. It is advisable to use a felt-tip pen to shape the nose, eyes and mouth.

Do-it-yourself willow hedgehog

This version of the "Hedgehog" craft made from leaves looks no less attractive than other types of volumetric applications... Working with it begins with drawing a detailed outline of the animal. For greater clarity, it is outlined with a marker or drawing pen. For your information: it is most correct to glue such a layout step by step on an A4 sheet. Do not forget about small details, such as claws on the paws.

Willow leaves are simply laid out on the empty part of the contour. Of course, before this, the surface is smeared with glue. Carefully make sure that they go to bed more tightly. Some overlap. The result is a composition that is not ashamed to be shown to a kindergarten or even an elementary school.

More ideas

The application figure of a hedgehog for school can also be prepared from rowan foliage. For the case you need:

  • sheets of white paper;

  • foliage itself;

  • glue stick;

  • scissors;

  • black pencil;

  • set of colored pencils.

Start by cutting off the branches covering the leaves. Important: Young children should be reminded of the basics of safety before doing this. Then they take a sheet of paper and draw a hedgehog. If drawing causes problems, then it is better to print the finished picture. But children should not be immediately taught to the easy ways.

They just need to show how to complete the drawing step by step.... This picture is painted in the most natural colors. You can paint the figure of a hedgehog with watercolors, gouache or colored pencils. Then all that remains is to stick the pre-dried leaves on the paper. This option allows you to create a hedgehog with an excellent muzzle. There is an option of obtaining an applique with a half-bead and doll eyes.

Important: when harvesting leaves, you need to choose larger specimens.

This will create a solid hedgehog and simplify the main work. Sequence of work:

  1. cutting out the body of a hedgehog;

  2. complementing it with an elongated nose and hind legs;

  3. widening and rounding the sides;

  4. applying beige strokes (if using white paper);

  5. attaching leaves to the back - each row separately;

  6. preparation of a thick "hairstyle" with pointed leaves;

  7. gluing a half-bead on the tip of the nose (sometimes replaced by a mountain ash berry or sunflower seed);

  8. sticking eyes;

  9. cutting the upper foot out of paper;

  10. gluing it to the craft.

Another good option:

  • draw any attractive picture (preferably with few details and, if possible, one line);

  • draw clearly the eyes, nose and expression of the muzzle;

  • glue the figure onto the background cardboard base;

  • glue the foliage according to your imagination.
