One of the favorite activities of many people is making crafts with their own hands. The peculiarity of this hobby is that crafts can be made from almost anything. So, in this article we will talk about different options for things that can be made from socks.

One of the lightest crafts you can make from a sock is a bunny toy. It is best to make it from plain children's socks, but in general, adults will do. In addition, you will need a couple more things, namely:

• tough fabric with a contrasting color;

• elastic bands or, if they are not there, threads;

• pom-pom, for example, from an old children's hat;

• beads of medium to small size;

• glue, preferably for fabric;

• cereals, for example, buckwheat or rice, which will be used as stuffing (cotton wool can be used instead of cereals).

Once everything is ready, you can get to work. Below are instructions that walk you through the process step by step.

The first step is to take a sock - and fill it with prepared cereal or cotton wool. If the children's option is used, then you will need about one glass of cereal or a medium-sized ball of cotton wool.

Then you need to measure the distance from the bottom of the toy to the desired location of the neck. This part must be tied with an elastic band or thread, thus separating the body from the head.

Then the head is tied on top, while leaving room for the ears. It is recommended to bandage tightly, otherwise the croup or cotton wool will spill out or come out, respectively.

The rest of the sock is used for the ears. It is divided into two equal parts, from which the ears themselves are already cut.

As soon as all of the above steps are completed, the shape of the hare can be considered ready. It remains only to decorate the toy:

1. in place of the abdomen, you need to glue a white cloth in order for the tummy to stand out;

2. make eyes out of beads;

3. small pieces of tissue can be used to make a nose and cleft teeth;

4. attach the prepared pompom at the back as a tail.

Slightly more complex, but no less interesting, is the toy dog ​​made of a sock. It will require:

• a pair of socks - may be old, but it is better to give preference to new ones;

• padding in the form of padding polyester;

• thread with a needle.

This is what should be included in the basic kit before starting work. So, below is a master class on creating a dog:

1. one sock is taken and turned inside out;

2. the elastic of the sock is cut off;

3. a longitudinal incision is made from the place of the cut elastic band to the heel;

4. two pieces of fabric are sewn into two separate tubes - future paws;

5. then the sock is turned back and stuffed with padding polyester;

6. the hole is sewn up, after which the neck is formed with threads, and with it the head;

7. the second sock is used for cutting small parts - ears, front legs, tail;

8. they are all either sewn on or glued to the toy;

9. additionally, you can add small details at your discretion, and after that the dog toy will be ready.

Another easy-to-create craft from old socks. You need to take one toe and cut the top off almost to the heel. After that, stuffing is pushed into it, as it is better to use cotton wool or synthetic winterizer. In the place where the heel is, expansion begins at the toe. A little more padding needs to be placed there than underneath. Thus, you can make a selected head.

Two pieces are cut from the second sock and sewn into tubes. The stuffing is put there, after which they are sewn to the craft and serve as paws. The resulting cat is painted with a mustache, nose and eyes. A collar can be worn around the neck if desired.

To create a rabbit, you need one small baby sock. From the heel to the top, a longitudinal incision is made - the ears. After that, the workpiece is stuffed with cotton wool. Once this is done, the ears and the space between them are stitched together. On the heel, especially if it is highlighted in a different color, the muzzle is excellent. To do this, you need to draw a mouth, nose and eyes on it.

An excellent option for beginners, as it is quite easy to do and does not require a lot of work material. For to make a snowman, you will need a white sock, thread or elastic band, padding in the form of padding polyester or cereals, additional decoration.

To create the shape of a snowman, it is enough to fill the sock with padding polyester or cereal, tie the top with an elastic band or sew it up. The remaining tip must be turned out onto the resulting head so that a hat is formed. Now you just need to decorate. Add eyes, such as beads, buttons, a scarf and a pom-pom to the hat.

Using a set of black socks, you can make a tank. To do this, you need to roll up several socks into tubes and secure them with a paper clip or pins, but so that it is not visible. Then they are rewound perpendicularly with one or two more pairs. The caterpillars are ready. A few more socks need to be folded and twisted in the same way - you get a tower that is placed on the tracks. By sticking in the handle, you can get a weapon. All that remains is to tie the craft up with a festive ribbon.

You can make a lighter toy, namely dumbbells. To do this, several pairs of socks need to be rolled up in a tight roll and put on a pencil. The rolls themselves should be fastened with an additional cloth or elastic band.

Using additional items such as thick cardboard, a roll of paper towels and cream, you can make an airplane. To do this, just take a roll and pull a sock over it. Substitute the cream from the back and, pulling the second sock over it, connect these two parts. Wings should be cut out of cardboard, shaped like a boomerang, and also wrapped with a sock. Then these two parts are connected with a paper clip or pin.

Even a small carpet can be made from socks. Moreover, there are two radically different ways.

One of them involves cutting individual pieces from old socks and knitting them into one rug. But this method requires knitting skill on the fingers. It is a fairly simple process. Take one piece, put it on the index finger and twist it in the form of a figure eight, putting it on the middle finger. The same process is done with the second copy. Then the end of one piece is thrown over the end of the other, thereby forming a loop. Thus, the entire carpet of any shape is knitted.

Another way is to sew the socks together without cutting into pieces. Such a carpet will not be as stylish, but more original.
