SpongeBob is the central character of the popular American animated series "SpongeBob SquarePants". He is adored by most children and even adults. You can dazzle the main character from ordinary and modern light plasticine. In both cases, in the process of creating a figurine, there are many important nuances that must be observed.

How to mold from ordinary plasticine?

To create a plasticine figurine, you first need to purchase a set of plasticine, which has bright colors. From additional devices you need to prepare:

  • a modeling board;
  • plastic knife;
  • matches;
  • body from the handle.

The sculpting process is not so difficult, the most important thing is to represent the figure of the character. You can even find an image of the character on the Internet to make the Plasticine Bob as similar to the original as possible. Let's consider the sculpting process step by step.

  1. Let's take a block of yellow material (this particular shade will be predominant)... We separate half of the total mass and knead it well with our hands until soft.
  2. Further it is necessary form a ball out of it, flatten and gradually remake it into a rectangle. The edges should be slightly rounded.
  3. Then we take brown plasticine (a little less than half in volume). You also need to roll a ball out of it, and then also remake it into a square. A match must be inserted into the central part from below into a brown blank, which will serve as a fastener. Attach the yellow part to the second end of the match.
  4. At the next stage of work, we will use a plastic knife, with which we will make an incision on the brown square - this is necessary for the formation of the legs.
  5. Next, you need to take on a little white and red material.... At the place where the main parts are joined, we will build a white collar and a red tie.
  6. The next step is very interesting, as it is about decorating the front of the figurine. The nose is in the form of a yellow plasticine ball. A little higher, you need to glue two symmetrical white cakes. Glue cakes of a smaller diameter made of blue plasticine on them, and small white dots on top. The mouth is a pink stripe and two white rectangular teeth.

At the final stage, we will make the arms and legs.... For the hands, you will need to take two matches, stick them with yellow plasticine, and connect them to the body. The legs are made according to the same principle as the hands. At both ends we will make two white stripes - these are socks, and boots from black plasticine.

The final touch is to create bubbles on the top. To do this, you need to use the body of the pen and process the upper part of the figure with it so that you get circles. The figurine is ready (Figure 1).

How to make from lightweight material

Light plasticine is very bright, but it is a little more difficult to work with it than with ordinary one. For work, you will need not only plasticine, but also matches and a thread of medium thickness, as well as a needle.

The base is molded according to the same principle as from ordinary plasticine (two rectangles are connected with a match). Next, step by step, you need to make the arms and legs. To do this, using a needle, you need to thread the thread through the body, and stick the ends with yellow plasticine. The legs are matches covered with yellow plasticine. Black plasticine is fixed on the ends of the matches.

The face also consists of eyes, nose and mouth with white teeth.

Since lightweight material does not have good adhesion, it is recommended to buy decals for decor with the face of the desired character in the required shape. That is, the face will be drawn. But you can try to make it out of plasticine. Spongebob is ready.

Useful Tips

In order for SpongeBob to be really beautiful and as similar as possible to a cartoon character, some nuances should be taken into account in the sculpting process. Helpful hints come in handy when working with light as well as regular material.

  1. Plasticine must be chosen as bright as possible, since standard colors will not be able to convey the required palette.
  2. To make the figure more stable, you can make plasticine platform and install it.
  3. Since the face contains small elements, then you can stick itby cutting from a magazine or buying special stickers.
  4. If you don't want to use matches, then they can be replaced with toothpicks or orange sticks (need to adjust the size).

What material is better to work with is a purely individual matter. It is much easier for children to work with ordinary plasticine. The figurine made of classic material is more stable and durable.

There is an interesting option for the design and purpose of each figurine. If you fix a thread in the form of a loop on the top of the toy, then it may well become a worthy Christmas tree decoration.
